‘Terrifier 3’ Returns to Theaters This Christmas, Wrapping Up 2024’s Biggest Indie Horror Story
Image
It wasn’t Neon betting big with “Longlegs” or Demi Moore contorting herself for “The Substance.” No, the most surprising story to come out of indie horror in 2024 was far and away “Terrifier 3,” the unrated, $2 million brainchild of filmmaker Damien Leone and distribution partners Cineverse and Iconic Events.

Leone’s scary movie broke every rule with its $500,000 marketing campaign and controversial content that challenged what many analysts thought they knew about genre fans. On December 24 and 25, the Christmas-themed slasher starring Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) and final girl Sienna Shaw (Lauren Lavera) will return to theaters for a two-day victory lap — as told first to IndieWire.

The ultra-violent holiday horror has earned $88 million at the global box office since October, using a unique marketing technique designed to capitalize on Cineverse subsidiaries like the website Bloody Disgusting. The upcoming re-release of “Terrifier 3” includes a new introduction by Leone...

Image
Ahead of its exclusive streaming premiere on Paramount+ planned for this fall, the documentary We Will Dance Again examining Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack on Israel has been slated for a two-day theatrical run nationwide in partnership with Iconic Events Releasing.

The film will first open at Laemmle Encino in Los Angeles for a week-long Oscar qualifying run beginning on August 23, ahead of advanced event screenings on Friday, August 29, and Sunday, September 1, in select theaters across the country. Watch a trailer above.

As recounted in the forthcoming documentary from director Yariv Mozer (The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes), the Nova Music Festival was supposed to be a celebration of life, love and music for thousands of young people but became one of the first targets when Hamas launched the deadliest terror attack in Israel’s history on October 7th of last year. Speak No Evil: "When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.

From Blumhouse, the producer of The Black Phone, Get Out and The Invisible Man, comes an intense suspense thriller for our modern age, starring BAFTA award-winner James McAvoy in a riveting performance as the charismatic, alpha-male estate owner whose untrammeled hospitality masks an unspeakable darkness.

Speak No Evil stars Mackenzie Davis and SAG award-winner Scoot McNairy as American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes, accept the weekend-holiday invitation of Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Dan Hough).

Written for the screen and directed by James Watkins, the writer-director of Eden Lake and the award-winning gothic ghost story The Woman in Black,...

Image
Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting are reteaming with Iconic Events Releasing as the theatrical distribution partner for Terrifier 3 from filmmakers Damien Leone and Phil Falcone.

First reported by Variety this afternoon, the Terrifier 3 announcement was made at CinemaCon, taking place this week in Las Vegas, and as the film wraps production in New Jersey.

Terrifier 3 will release in theaters nationwide this year!

We previously partnered on distribution for Terrifier 2, 2022’s instant cult slasher sensation, which was produced on a micro-budget and went on to scare up more than $15 million at the global box office, generating significant buzz and a scary amount of press coverage, and popping up everywhere from Saturday Night Live and Bupkis to rap lyrics and ugly holiday sweaters.

“Iconic absolutely crushed it for us with Terrifier 2,” said Cineverse VP Business Development and Managing Director of Bloody Disgusting, Brad Miska. “When the film went viral,...

Terrifier gets a 700 screen re-release this Wednesday
Image
For an indie horror movie that went out into the world unrated, Terrifier 2 was a massive hit last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000. And that success has not only paved the way for Terrifier 3, which will have a substantially higher budget and is aiming for a fall 2024 release, but it has also earned a theatrical re-release for its predecessor, the first Terrifier. Our friends at Bloody Disgusting have announced that Terrifier will be playing on around 700 screens as of this Wednesday, July 19th. This is the widest theatrical release Terrifier has ever received and it will be playing for a few days. To see if it will be playing near you, check This Link.

Written and directed by Damien Leone, Terrifier (buy a copy of it Here) was made on a budget of $35,000 and has the following synopsis: A maniacal clown named...

Terrifier Returns to Theaters This Summer, Red Band Trailer Released
Image
The original Terrifier movie will be coming back to the big screen just in time for the spooky holiday season this year. Per THR, it has been announced that the first Terrifier, released in 2018, is coming back to movie theaters on July 19 where it will be screened in 700 locations, its widest release to date. To help promote the re-release, Dread has released a new red band trailer that teases the film's bloody mayhem, and you can check that out below.

The re-release comes as the result of a collaboration between Dread and Iconic Events, which also worked on the release of Terrifier 2. With the success of the sequel bringing renewed attention to the original Terrifier, it's a great time to bring Art the Clown's first feature film back to theaters. Both movies are helmed by Damien Leone, who has greatly impressed the people at Iconic Events with his work.
