The F1 The Movie release kicked off on June 27, taking in a solid domestic opening weekend gross of $57 million. Since then, its cumulative worldwide gross has risen past $550 million, making it Apple Studios' highest-grossing theatrical release, in addition to becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time starring Brad Pitt in the lead role.

Per The Numbers, F1 The Movie took in an additional $575,000 at the domestic box office on August 6 during the waning days of its theatrical run. This has pushed its cumulative domestic gross to $175.3 million, making it only the 11th movie of 2025 to pass the $175 million domestic milestone.

Apple’s Formula 1 racing movie will return to Imax theaters on Friday, Aug. 8, with plans to further expand on Friday, Aug. 15. Tickets are now on sale.

“F1” recently crossed $552 million at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing original feature of the year and Apple’s largest film ever. It lapped Pitt’s previous best movie, his 2013 zombie movie “World War Z” which made $540 million at the box office (not adjusted for inflation). Distributed by Warner Bros. Brad Pitt’s latest film “F1” is racing onto screens after a long wait.

The film follows Pitt as a retired Formula 1 driver who is asked to step back into the mix to help guide an up-and-coming driver played by Damson Idris. This is Kosinsky’s first film since 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick.”

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. and Apple Original Films' F1 is expected to make between $40 million and $50 million domestically in the first three days of its theatrical run, more than double the projected take for Universal Pictures' M3GAN 2.0 ($20 million). Furthermore, presales for F1 are reportedly outdoing recent blockbusters such as Gladiator 2. Meanwhile, M3GAN 2.0's presales are below expectations; the movie's opening weekend is on track to make nearly five times less than the original ($95.1 million domestically).

Actors Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise reunited on Monday at the London premiere of Pitt’s movie F1.

On the red carpet, Pitt greeted Cruise with a friendly hug before posing beside him for the cameras.

Cruise and Pitt first worked together in the 1994 screen adaptation of Anne Rice’s book Interview with a Vampire. In early June, Pitt told E! News at the Mexico premiere for F1 that he was interested in working with Cruise again.
