George Merritt

I, Monster
Image
It’s Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing together in a horror picture, a formula no shock feature fan can resist. Most of us remember staring at the beautiful full-color photo of Chris Lee in monster makeup in Denis Gifford’s picture book about horror movies. Yet this has remained one of the pair’s most obscure items, at least as a quality presentation. Powerhouse Indicator’s expert added value items put all the rumors to rest, including the question that’s been repeated through the years — where’s the legendary 3-D version? Or perhaps more to the point, was there really a 3-D version? And then there’s the other question — is the movie any good?

I, Monster

Tom Hiddleston in I Saw the Light (2015)
Tinseltown took over Music City this past weekend, with the glitzy premiere of the highly anticipated Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light. Stars of the big-screen adaptation of the book, Hank Williams: The Biography by Colin Escott, George Merritt and William Macewen, walked the red carpet (which, for the record, was actually green), as invited guests filled the twin theaters at Nashville's historic Belcourt theater. British actor Tom Hiddleston turns in a career-defining role as the troubled singer-songwriter, whose influence is seen not only in nearly every country artist who came after him,...

Tom Hiddleston to Play Hank Williams in I Saw The Light
Marvel movie star Tom Hiddleston has been cast as country music legend Hank Williams in a biopic called I Saw the Light. The movie will be directed by Marc Abraham from a script he wrote. The movie is based on book Hank Williams: The Biography written by Colin Escott, George Merritt, and William MacEwan.

Williams was born in 1929 in Alabama, and at 10 years of age he taught himself to play the guitar by watching other guitarists. He put together his first band when he was 14 and that led to an incredible yet short life. He really broke out into the musical scene during the post-World War II era with the song "Move It on Over." After struggling with alcoholism he died at age 29 of heart failure.

According to Variety, producers have also picked up the rights from Sony Atv for Williams’ songs such as "Your Cheatin’ Heart" and "Hey...
