A horror comedy that parodied everything from The X-Files to Godzilla movies, Stan Against Evil will not be returning for a fourth season on IFC, as the show's creator, Dana Gould, has confirmed that the series has been cancelled.

On the recent episode of his podcast The Dana Gould Hour (via Bloody Disgusting), Gould made the following statement regarding the current status of Stan Against Evil:

“Stan Against Evil, I am sad to report, will not be returning for a fourth season. It had a great run of three seasons. It’s not coming back. Will it show up in some other form on some other network someday? Maybe. But right now, as we like to say, it’s dead as Kelsey’s nuts.”

IFC has canceled the John C. McGinley-starring monster fest, Stan Against Evil, after three seasons.

Evil has won...for now.

IFC has canceled its monster hunting comedy Stan Against Evil after three seasons. Stan Against Evil creator Dana Gould confirmed the news on his podcast, The Dana Gould Hour.

“Stan Against Evil, I am sad to report, will not be returning for a fourth season. It had a great run of three seasons. It’s not coming back. Will it show up in some other form on some other network someday? Maybe. But right now, as we like to say, it’s dead as Kelsey’s nuts," Gould said in a very Gould-ian statement on his podcast.

Stan Against Evil wrapped up its third, and currently final, season in November of 2018. The show followed Stanley Miller (John C. McGinley), the former sheriff of a small New Hampshire town.

Halloween night on IFC, we all can take a Stan Against Evil. In the meantime, check out the trailer that recently dropped for the new horror comedy series starring John C. McGinley (Stan) as he takes on the 100+ demons that have taken over his sleepy New Hampshire town.

"Something’s not quite right in the town of Willard’s Mill, New Hampshire. In the newly released trailer for IFC’s original horror-comedy series, Stan Against Evil, get to know the town's stubborn ex-police sheriff Stanley Miller (John C. McGinley), his strong-willed replacement Evie Barret (Janet Varney) and a few of the 172 spine-chilling demons who are haunting the town.

Stan Against Evil premieres on IFC with two back-to-back episodes Wednesday, November 2 at 10 Pm and 10:30 Pm. Additionally, in the spirit of spooks and frights, a special double-airing of the premiere episode will haunt viewers Halloween night, October 31st at 11 Pm and 11:30 Pm on IFC.

Though there’s no shortage of horror TV shows these days — “The Walking Dead,” “American Horror Story,” “Penny Dreadful,” “Black Mirror,” “Ash vs Evil Dead,” etc. — a new one in the works could add a unique spin on the genre. The upcoming IFC series “Stan Against Evil” follows Stanley Miller (John McGinley), a gruff, aging New England sheriff who recently lost his position after an angry outburst at his wife’s funeral. Though Miller isn’t exactly accepting or kind towards newcomers, he meets the new sheriff Evie Barret (Janet Varney) who opens his eyes to the plague of angry demons haunting the town. Miller begrudgingly joins an alliance with Barret to stop the demon threat once and for all. Watch an exclusive teaser for the series below.

There's a new sheriff in town. Scrubs' John C. McGinley is set to star as disgruntled former Sheriff Stanley Miller in the Stan Against Evil TV series on IFC. A comedy horror, Stan Against Evil also stars Janet Varney as Evie Barret. Evie is the new sheriff as well as Stan's partner in crime.

Written and produced by Dana Gould and executive produced by Tom Lassally (3 Arts), Frank Scherma and Justin Wilkes (RadicalMedia), eight episodes are planned for the first season of Stan Against Evil on IFC. Principal photography begins in Atlanta, this June, with an eye toward a fall 2016 premiere.
