(1947) Stage: Appeared (as "Harry Beaton") in original Broadway production of "Brigadoon". NOTE: (1) He won a Donaldson Award as Best Dancer. (2) He won a Theatre Guild Award for his performance. (3) When the play was filmed in 1954 (Brigadoon (1954) Hugh Laing played Mitchell's role, and the famous "Sword Dance" was not used.

Alexander Smallens was choreographer.

(1968) He directed the musical, "Lil' Abner," at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey with Dagmar, Michael Beirne and Willi Burke in the cast. Norman Panama and Melvin Frank wrote the book. Gene DePaul composed the music. Johnny Mercer was lyricist.
