AMC Networks today announced that it has given the green light to the sports docuseries Gold Rush (working title), an AMC Studios and Skydance Sports co-production with producing partners NFL Films, Religion of Sports (Ros), and Tom Brady (for both Ros and 199 Productions).

The four-episode series will explore the dramatic and iconic run of the San Francisco 49ers during the ’80s and early ’90s, when the club rose from an also-ran into pro football’s most glamorous franchise. The series is set to premiere exclusively on AMC and AMC+ in 2026.

Utilizing rare and never-before-seen footage from NFL Films, including video of team speeches and behind-the-scenes photos of San Francisco’s legendary head coach Bill Walsh, the series will feature incisive interviews with club legends (and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees) such as Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, and Eddie DeBartolo Jr.

With a fan debate constantly raging over who The Challenge’s all-time greatest competitor is, Johnny Bananas said fan “biases” make some choose other players over him.

Vin Scully, the radio and TV voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers for 67 years who in the process became synonymous with the city, died Tuesday, the Dodgers organization said. He was 94.

Vin Scully, the gentlemanly, yarn-spinning play-by-play man whose mellifluous voice provided the soundtrack to Dodger baseball from Brooklyn to Los Angeles for a jaw-dropping 67 seasons, has died. He was 94.

Scully, a member of the Dodgers organization from 1950 until his retirement following the 2016 regular season, died Tuesday at his home in Hidden Hills, the Dodgers announced.

When he bid farewell to the broadcast booth, he had called nearly half of the games for a franchise that was born in 1890.

Always even-tempered and an easy listen, Scully was credited with turning Los Angeles into a “transistor town” — his broadcasts were pumped throughout the L.A. Coliseum (the team’s first home out west) and then Dodger Stadium and wafted from traffic jams and street-side venues throughout the sprawling city.

His brief at the company will be to drive the creation and development of original content and programming for Excel and its clients.

The sports agency that reps talent, brands and properties has tapped Holcomb to join its media division, Excel Media, to spearhead development of original content and programming for the firm and its clients. He’ll be based in Los Angeles.

Holcomb segues to the newly-created post from the World Surf League where he served as executive vp of Wsl Studios. During his tenure, he led Wsl’s content division developing programming, concepts and running branded content. His credits there included ABC’s The Ultimate Surfer, and developing and setting up a seven-part series about the Wsl’s Championship Tour at Apple TV+, in partnership with Box to Box Productions. Holcomb is an executive producer of that series, Make or Break, which is currently available on the streamer with a second season on the horizon.

Pop star Demi Lovato, who recently opened up about her struggles with drugs and sexual abuse in a docuseries for YouTube, is chasing UFOs for her next television project.

Peacock has ordered four-part series Unidentified with Demi Lovato (w/t), which will see the singer, her skeptical best friend Matthew and her sister Dallas attempt to uncover the truth about the UFO phenomena.

While consulting with leading experts, the trio will investigate recent eyewitness encounters, uncover secret government reports and conduct tests at known UFO hot spots.

This comes after Lovato revealed on her Instagram page in October that she spent a few days in Joshua Tree with Dr. Steven Greer, who claims to be one of the “world’s foremost authorities on the subject of UFOs, Et intelligence and initiating peaceful contact with Et civilization” and witnessed “the most incredibly profound sightings both in the sky as well as feet away from me.

Super Bowl Lv drew 96.4 million total multiplatform viewers on Sunday, when 2021’s big game aired on CBS. That all-in tally was the lowest since 2007. It includes a ton of platforms: the CBS Television Network (which brought in 91.629 million of those viewers), CBS Sports and NFL digital properties, Buccaneers and Chiefs mobile properties, Verizon Media mobile properties and ESPN Deportes television and digital properties.

Despite the marquee quarterback matchup, Super Bowl Lv was a pretty boring game. It was mostly noncompetitive, and the Kansas City Chiefs played sloppily. Tom Brady, who was named the game’s Mvp, threw for just 201 yards in the winning effort. He had three touchdown passes (two to former New England Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski) to zero interceptions. That was more than enough for the comfortable 31-9 victory.

The woman accused of breaking into Joe Montana’s Malibu home and trying to kidnap his granddaughter was freed from jail Friday morning.

Sodsai Dalzell, 39, was released from the Los Angeles County jail around 4:30 a.m., according to the records. The charges against her were dismissed. It is not clear why the charges were dropped.

The woman accused of breaking into Joe Montana’s Malibu home and trying to kidnap his granddaughter was freed from jail Friday morning.

Sodsai Dalzell, 39, was released from the Los Angeles County jail around 4:30 a.m., according to the records. The charges against her were dismissed. It is not clear why the charges were dropped.

Dalzell was arrested last September after she allegedly entered the home of the iconic NFL quarterback and grabbed his granddaughter. Montana and his wife, Jennifer, confronted the suspect and asked her to give back their grandchild.
