Evil Dead II (1987) vs. Demon Wind (1990) – Horror Movie Rip-Off
Image
There is something to appreciate when horror deviates from the typical slice and dice. Sometimes it involves demonic possessions (Exorcist), blood-thirsty sharks (Jaws), killer dolls (Child’s Play) or even a shape-shifting organism (The Thing). The horror genre has constantly evolved over-time but today we’re going to go totally left field and have a matchup for the ages between the originator and the emulator. One that involves the book of the dead and deadites while the other brings blood-hungry demons, mystical daggers, and roundhouse loving magicians. Yes, it’s all there with plenty to chew on, and there are no qualms about it, well sort of. We have in our Horror Movie Rip-off ring, 1990’s Demon Wind directed by Charles Philip Moore (get it Here) and 1987’s Evil Dead II directed by Sam Raimi (get that one Here). Did Demon Wind rip a page right out of Evil Dead’s Necronomicon for their own,...

Demon Wind (1990)
‘Demon Wind 2: The Serpent’s Coil’ – Cult Horror Movie Getting a Sequel Over 30 Years Later
Demon Wind (1990)
It’s never too late for a horror movie to spawn a sequel – The Mutilator 2 is coming soon, a sequel to the slasher movie from 1984! – and Demon Wind is next up on the chopping block.

The cult horror movie from 1990 is getting a sequel with the upcoming Demon Wind 2: The Serpent’s Coil, an official project announced by the website Dread Central.

Dread reports, “Production on the teaser and funding trailer is set to begin in May. The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will launch in July, and principal photography commences in late fall or winter.” Grime House Films and Teer/Mathis Productions are behind Demon Wind 2.

In Demon Wind 2: The Serpent’s Coil, “a team of occult researchers ventures to a rural area, where a suspected satanic murder took place at an old farmhouse, to uncover the secrets of the cult responsible. The team soon discovers that the murders...

Tiny Tim
You Can Watch Full-Length Horror Films in ‘High on Life’
Tiny Tim
While Squanch Games’ new Fps High on Life isn’t what you’d call horror, there’s indeed some horror content in the game. Taking a page from Starbreeze Studios’ The Darkness, you can watch a full length horror film if you need a break from the gameplay.

The Nerd Stash reports that you can actually watch four full-length horror movies in High on Life. They aren’t your slapped-together cheapo films made exclusively for the game, either. You’ve got 1987’s Blood Harvest starring Tiny Tim, Charles Philip Moore‘s 1990 film Demon Wind, 1994’s Tammy and The T-Rex (it’s not known if it’s the R-rated cut that Vinegar Syndrome put out a few years ago), and 1978’s Vampire Hookers starring John Carradine.

If you need a break from killing everything with your talking gun and knife, you literally just head to your living room in your house and watch the TV.

Demon Wind (1990)
The Best, Worst, and Craziest Horror Movie You’ve Never Seen is Now Streaming
Demon Wind (1990)
Before this week, I pushed no “Must See” Demon Wind agenda. As of three days ago, I hadn’t even indulged this not-often-discussed cult discovery. That’s until essential horror streaming resource Shudder added Charles Philip Moore’s 1990 “How did this get made?” case study to their already blushing catalog. My interest was tickled with a confirmation […]

Demon Wind (1990)
Vinegar Syndrome Bringing 1990’s ‘Demon Wind’ to Blu-ray
Demon Wind (1990)
At this point in time, the 1990 horror film Demon Wind has only ever been released on VHS here in the States, so it’s pretty great to hear that Vinegar Syndrome is bringing it into the world of high-definition for the very first time! Charles Philip Moore’s Demon Wind will hit Blu-ray on October 24. “Vinegar […]...

Fight Flick Fortnight: ‘Blackbelt’ Review
Stars: Don”The Dragon” Wilson, Matthias Hues, Deidre Imershein, Alan Blumenfold | Written by Paul Maslak, Charles Philip Moore | Directed by Charles Philip Moore, Rick Jacobson | Produced by Roger Corman

Beautiful rock star Shanna (Imershein) is seeking protection from a psychotic killer (Hues) with a mother fixation and a penchant for brutality, as well as from her own corrupt, mobster of a business manager. Reluctantly, she hires ex-cop and karate instructor Jack Dillon (Wilson), who finds himself stuck in the middle of a deadly, two-pronged assault from Shanna’s tormentors.

Ok, lets get this out of the way first. Whilst he has his detractors (and plenty of haters), I’m a huge fan of Don “The Dragon” Wilson and his movies. InBlackbelt, Wilson plays his typical uber-invincible self, this time out as an ex-cop turned martial arts teacher turned body guard. Whilst Wilson gives his usual one-not performance (basically he’s...
