Lost Photos From a Legendary Hollywood Archive
Image
When photo archivist Michael Ochs brokered a deal to offload his sprawling collection of 20th century iconography to Getty Images in 2007, neither seller nor buyer knew absolutely everything that was included in the transaction. Ochs had a decades-long reputation as the ultimate source of rock ‘n’ roll imagery, but his collection, at the time of its sale, included 3 million vintage prints, proof sheets and negatives. Many hadn’t been seen in decades, and others, presumably, never at all — particularly some shots of Old Hollywood, obtained in countless acquisitions over the decades that built up the Michael Ochs Archive.

“The Earl Leaf collection alone was over 100,000 negatives,” Ochs says of the late beatnik photographer, who shot many unknowns (Marilyn Monroe, Clint Eastwood) before they blew up and Leaf went on to become the house photographer for The Beach Boys.

Getty has scanned, edited, captioned and digitized nearly 400,000 images from the collection since the acquisition,...

Victim of Florida Spree Killing Was Abused Girlfriend Hiding from Killer, Says Dad
Jacqueline Moore
The father of a woman whose fatal shooting allegedly launched a killing spree says her killer was his daughter’s abusive boyfriend — and that she was hiding from him in a motel when he fatally shot her.

Alicia Greer, 30, was found dead of at least one gunshot wound in a Milton, Florida, motel room on Jan. 31, along with her friend Jacqueline Moore, 39, police tell People. As investigators work to piece together the circumstances surrounding her death, Greer’s father says her killing marked the tragic end to months of physical abuse from her boyfriend and killer William Boyette, who fatally...

Florida Suspect Kills Himself as Partner Surrenders After Alleged ‘Nightmare’ Killing Spree
The hunt for a man and woman wanted in a two-state “killing spree” ended at a Georgia motel on Tuesday afternoon when the man fatally shot himself and the woman surrendered to police, according to Florida authorities.

William Boyette, 44, killed himself after law enforcement surrounded the West Point, Georgia, motel in which he and 38-year-old Mary Rice were hiding following an alleged week-long crime spree that began in Florida, an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman tells People.

“He took his own life,” the spokesman says of Boyette. “Rice gave up … She left the motel room to surrender and, a short time later,...

Jacqueline Moore
A manhunt is underway for a man and woman from Florida suspected of killing three women last week and injuring a mother in a home invasion on Monday, People confirms.

William Boyette, 44, and 38-year-old Mary Rice are wanted in connection with multiple homicides across two states, an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman tells People. They are believed to be “armed and dangerous.”

“What we are experiencing is a running nightmare, quite honestly,” Ecso Chief Deputy Chip Simmons said during a Monday press conference.

12 Things We Learned From WWE Hall Of Fame 2016
WWE.com

With another WrestleMania weekend comes another Hall of Fame ceremony, and this year of course saw the likes of The Godfather, Jacqueline, The Big Boss Man, The Fabulous Freebirds and Sting join the group’s elite ranks.

If arguably not quite as star-studded as some recent shows, it was still a riveting sit for the most part, and gave us plenty more insight into not only the business as a whole but who these wrestlers are as people.

From revelations about the Ultimate Warrior’s diet to bizarre wrestling merchandise and some hilarious, business-exposing moments, the anecdotes, the mishaps and one unfortunate-but-inevitable announcement made it a must-see for any card-carrying wrestling fan.

As the stage is set for the Granddaddy of Them All, here are 12 things we learned from the WWE Hall of Fame 2016…

WWE Hall Of Fame 2016 Inductees Exclusive: More Names Revealed
WhatCulture.com has learned that a source high-up inside WWE recently let slip the names of five candidates who have been discussed for this year’s Hall of Fame.

While these can only be treated as rumour until confirmed by WWE – and with anything in wrestling able to change at any time – our understanding is that all of the names below are virtually a lock for a spot to join the already announced Sting in this year’s class.

A couple are a surprise, while others were expected and long overdue. Some are relevant to the state of Texas – the host state of WrestleMania – be it for their history competing in the area or having been raised there.

But it is our understanding the following names will be inducted this year…

The Fabulous Freebirds are considered one of the most important tag teams of their generation for good reason,...

Mortal Kombat X: 10 Legendary Characters Yet To Be Announced
NetherRealm

It seems the Royal Rumble-style list of characters lining up to sprint their way towards Mk X’s April release date is being handled expertly by developers NetherRealm so far.

A press release here, a live stream there – maybe an occasional glimpse of someone new in amongst a new trailer anywhere else – creator Ed Boon knows what the fans want, and is giving it to them on a whole variety of silver platters. Years ago after Deadly Alliance there were talks of major shakeups to the roster being implemented going forward, as understandably although Mk harbours some of gaming’s biggest icons, when you’re trying to continuously do new things with characters initially designed with less pixels than a Minecraft character model, it’s hard to update them accordingly.

So, following an initially very strong fan backlash the team bided their time, and now with Mk X...

Oliver Stone: 'America always wins'
Oliver Stone
Oliver Stone got so sick of always reading the sanitised version of Us history that he decided to write his own. He talks about the real reason America dropped the atom bomb, how Kennedy is a hero and why he can't stand Hillary Clinton

Oliver Stone has just agreed to take part in the Us version of Jamie's Dream School, the TV show that explored the interesting notion that famous people might educate kids better than teachers. "It was much criticised in Britain but I still think it's a good idea," says Stone over coffee and bagels in a Soho hotel. He'll be the American equivalent of Jamie's history teacher David Starkey. Only, you'd suspect, more radical.

Stone's TV history class might well be named Us Heresies 101. "We're going to take these texts from regular history and compare them to what we think happened." He will teach that the bombing...

Teresa Giudice at an event for The Real Housewives of New Jersey (2009)
Sydney Levin: 'Rhonj' Recap: Analyze This [Beep]
Teresa Giudice at an event for The Real Housewives of New Jersey (2009)
This week on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," we learn that Teresa and Joe are employing child laborers to help build the new garage in their wreck of a backyard. You know what's worse than forcing your daughters to pour concrete for hours and hours on end? Dressing them in less-than-stylish child laborer outfits. The Giudice girls (save for the tiniest one who I assume is inside painstakingly bedazzling something for momma) are clad in overalls, pink t-shirts and camo bandannas that have been on the "Not Hot in Gang Land" list for a few years now. As the girls stucco their little Italian fingers to the bone, Teresa takes pictures and squeals about how much money they're saving. After an unfortunate fight on the job, the kids are "fired," and I'm reminded again why I only buy goods from foreign countries: Tots there just have a much better work ethic.

Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Love
Genesis P-Orridge has been one of the most innovative and influential figures in music and fine art for the last 30 years. Celebrated by critics and art historians as a progenitor of "industrial music," his innovations have transformed the character of rock and electronic music, while his prodigious efforts to expand the boundaries of live performance have radically altered the way people experience sound in a concert setting. Defying artistic boundaries, Genesis has re-defined his art as a challenge to the limits of biology. In 2000, Genesis began a series of surgeries in order to more closely resemble his love, Lady Jaye (nee Jacqueline Breyer), who remained his other half and artistic partner for nearly 15 years. It was the ultimate act of devotion, and Genesis's most risky, ambitious, and subversive performance to date: he became a she in a triumphant act of artistic self-expression. The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye...

Chace Crawford Cheers On a Miss Usa Beauty – His Sister
Surrounded by beauty queens at the Miss Usa Pageant on Friday, Gossip Girls' Chace Crawford only had eyes for one woman: Miss Missouri. Of course, Miss Missouri is Candice Crawford, Chace's sister, a 21-year-old blonde beauty who dazzled judges deep into the competition. But despite a public endorsement from her famous brother, Candice Crawford fell short in her bid to become Miss Usa in Las Vegas – that honor went to Miss Texas Crystle Stewart. While the TV star wasn't wearing an oversized pin on his lapel like the rest of his family, Crawford's support was more vocal. When it was...
