Anne Hathaway has proven to be one of the greatest actresses of her generation. She rose to fame in the Disney comedy, The Princess Diaries (2001), before taking on more serious roles in Brokeback Mountain (2005) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006). However, it was her powerful performance as a recovering addict in Rachel Getting Married (2008) that earned her first Oscar nod.
She continued to star in comedies, such as Get Smart (2008) and several rom-coms, including Bride Wars (2009), Valentine's Day, and Love & Other Drugs (both 2010). In 2012, she starred as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises and played Fantine, a sex worker dying of tuberculosis, in the musical Les Misérables, winning an Academy Award for the latter.
Hathaway reunited with Christopher Nolan for Interstellar (2014), and will once again for The Odyssey (2026), and continued to showcase her versatility in the comedy The Intern (2015), the heist movie Ocean's 8 (2018), and the romantic comedy The Idea of You (2024). However,...

Taron Egerton recently opened up about the possibility of a sequel to his hit 2024 thriller Carry-On, and it sounds like fans might not want to get their hopes up.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Egerton explained that making Carry-On 2 would be tricky without losing the magic of the original. “Carry-On 2 is really hard. It’s a celebration of Christmas and a celebration of people who work at Christmas. It then needs to have this huge plot that needs to be foiled and maybe the earwig component. All of that is quite hard to achieve in a sequel without it feeling contrived and to the point of defying credulity. So I have not heard anything, but who knows, stranger things have happened,” he said.
The actor, who played Tsa agent Ethan Kopek, seems skeptical but didn’t completely shut the door on the idea. Carry-On, released on Netflix on...

Breaking Bad Paid Bryan Cranston $3.6 Million In Season 5(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Over the years, the fandom of Breaking Bad has only grown. Starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul in the leads, the storyline of the series revolves around Walter White, a genius chemistry teacher who finds out he’s terminally ill and starts making meth to secure a better financial future for his family with Jesse Pinkman. While Bryan can be seen as White, Aaron played Pinkman in the television show.
Their onscreen camaraderie still gets appreciated by the fans. This show kind of changed both of their careers in a bigger perspective. Breaking Bad also stars Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, and others in important supporting roles. While the unique plot and the twists and turns of every season were enough to keep us on the edge of our seats, do you know with what budget it began?

Whether it's critically acclaimed classics like Die Hardand Pulp Fictionor easy-viewing action flicks like 2022's Gasoline Alley, Bruce Willisand his iconic filmography will always prove popular, especially in light of his illness-induced retirement three years ago. From the latter category, another of Willis' testosterone-fueled action thrillers has found success in 2025, becoming one of the ten most-streamed titles on MGM+ in the U.S., as of July 21, 2025, per FlixPatrol.
That movie is Death Wish, a 2018 remake of the 1974 film of the same name, following Willis' Dr. Paul Kersey as he vows to take revenge on the perpetrators of a horrific crime that left his wife and young daughter the victims of a brutal attack. Also starring Vincent D'Onofrio, Greyhound's Elisabeth Shue, and Law & Order: Organized Crime's Dean Norris, the movie was helmed by Eli Roth, six years before he would bring the disastrous adaptation of Borderlands to the big screen.

According to FlixPatrol, as of July 24, Death Wish is ranked No. 8 on MGM+'s Top 10 chart, up one spot from the day before. Released in 2018, Death Wish stars Willis as Dr. Paul Kersey, a Chicago-based surgeon who sets out to exact vengeance on the culprits responsible for attacking his family. The vigilante action thriller also stars Vincent D'Onofrio (Daredevil: Born Again), Elisabeth Shue (The Boys), and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), among others.
Bronson originated the role of Paul Kersey in the Death Wish franchise, appearing in the first five films — Death Wish (1974), Death Wish II (1982), Death Wish 3 (1985), Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987), and Death Wish V: The Face of Death (1994). A remake was announced in 2006; however,...

There are good shows. There are bad shows. And then there are the shows that made us question our own taste while binge-watching an entire season in a single weekend.
You know the ones — plot holes you could drive a truck through, dialogue that feels AI-generated (before AI was even a thing), and characters who make increasingly bizarre decisions while we scream, “Why are you like this?!” at our screens.
And yet… we kept watching.
(CBS/Screenshot)
Whether it was nostalgia, hot people making bad choices, or the kind of unhinged storytelling that dares you to look away, these shows managed to hook us, even when we knew better.
Some were once great and lost the plot. Others were pure chaos from day one. But all of them carved out a space in our hearts precisely because of their messiness.

Lisa Kudrow and HBO aren’t letting the Friends star’s cult comedy go without a proper goodbye, and so it is that The Comeback is getting revived for a third and final season. The series, created by Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow, celebrated the 20th anniversary of its launch earlier this month, making today’s news monumental for fans. The revival speaks to the show’s lasting appeal, Kudrow’s endearing screen presence, and HBO’s desire to bring a familiar face back for more much-needed laughs.
The third and final season of The Comeback heads to production this summer for a 2026 HBO and HBO Max debut. In The Comeback, Lisa Kudrow plays Valerie Cherish, an ex-a-list celebrity attempting to rekindle the flame of her once prominent acting career with nothing but a camera crew and some determination.
“Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape.

Law & Order: Organized CrimeSeason 5 has come to a close, which marks the conclusion of the first full season of the Dick Wolf police procedural to air exclusively on Peacock. It was announced last year that the Christopher Meloni-led show was renewed for a fifth season, but it would take place exclusively on NBC’s streaming service. Ever since the show’s April 17 premiere, the show has maintained dominance in Peacock’s Top 10 every week. The series peaked at #2 on May 3, 2025.
Season 5's move exclusively to Peacock also came with a bump in the rating to Ma. For the most part, this means an increase in the graphic nature of violence (some of us are still a little scarred from the fingers), as well as the addition of explicit language. In a recent interview with TV Insider, Meloni talked about what he feels like the series was able to accomplish for the fifth season,...

The dark comedy series stars Jon Hamm as a wealthy investor who’s rocked when he’s suddenly fired, leaving him with big debts thanks to an ex-wife and family while living in an upscale neighborhood. Rather than downsize, Hamm decides to rob his wealthy neighbors for extra cash. Along the way, he uncovers their secrets and is soon involved in a murder.
The show has a fun take on how far folks will go for “the American dream” of wealth and the secrets that the rich keep. The undertaking of returning to a character after an absence can be daunting for any actor. When Christopher Meloni left Law & Order: Special Victims Unit after 12 seasons of playing Detective Elliot Stabler, the character's departure was abrupt and had lasting effects for seasons to come, particularly on Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson. In Season 22 of Svu, Meloni and his character made a shocking return to the franchise in the episode "Return of the Prodigal Son" before going on to lead his own show, Law & Order: Organized Crime. Now, ahead of being honored at the North Fork TV Festival, Meloni talked with TV Insider about returning to the character.
"It’s very interesting to play a character and then go away from him and do other things and then come back in a little bit of a different world, a darker world, edgier world with Organized Crime. He was introduced in Svu.

Launching later this month, the Italian Global Series Festival (Igsf) marks the long-awaited revival of the dormant RomaFictionFest, now with a spiffier, Riviera-side setting and a more ambitious remit. Running June 21–28 along the Adriatic beachfront between Rimini and Riccione, the revamped event signals more than a simple rebrand for a venerable TV showcase last seen in 2016.
“When Roma went dark, Italian drama lost its home,” says Igsf artistic director Marco Spagnoli. “We lost a place to spotlight our talent and connect creators from different backgrounds and storytelling traditions. In today’s fragmented, content-saturated world, a curated festival is more vital than ever—not just to champion great shows, but to foster real collaboration.”
Indeed, the original festival played a pivotal role in launching breakout Italian hits like “Gomorrah” and “The Mafia Kills Only in Summer,” while serving as a bridge between local talent and the international market. After winning best...

It's the first season to stream exclusively on Peacock after the announcement that the series was renewed but moving from NBC to the streamer last year. Now, after 10 episodes, fans will find out just how far Christopher Meloni's Detective Elliot Stabler is willing to go. In an interview with TV Insider ahead of being honored at the North Fork TV Festival, Meloni was asked about the potential Season 6 and how the finale could set up the future of the show and says "that’s a question that is unanswerable simply because I don’t think anybody including Peacock knows exactly what they’re going to do just yet." Editor's Note: The following article contains spoilers for the Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5, Episode 9 episode "Off the Books"
Law & Order: Organized Crime's move to Peacock for its fifth season came with big swings. Within the first two episodes, Christopher Meloni's Detective Elliot Stabler ended up being hit by the cab of a semi-truck and then slipped into a coma, only to be woken up to the sound of his brother Randall (Dean Norris) flirting with Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). As the season has progressed, old enemies from Elliot's time living and working in Italy have reared their heads and his family drama continues. In between trying to recover from his accident, helping his son Eli (Nicky Torchia) adjust to fatherhood and his role as an NYPD cop, Elliot also wrestled with his brother, Joseph Stabler Jr. or Joey (Michael Trotter), in the wind, effectively a ghost haunting his family.

Elliot Stabler’s personal life and family have been a major part of Law & Order: Organized Crime since its second season. After her Emmy-winning guest role in Law & Order: Svu, Ellen Burstyn returned to Organized Crime Season 2 as Stabler’s mother, Bernadette Stabler. We also saw Dean Norris and Michael Trotter as Stabler’s brothers, Randall and Joe.
One of the Season 4 storylines about the family involved Elliot and Randall trying to help Joe with his drug issues. However, he rejects their help and joins criminal boss Julian Emery. He was absent throughout the fifth season until he appeared in the latest episode, Off the Books. However, he meets with a devastating fate that might push Elliot to break his moral boundaries.

Detective Elliot Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) professional and personal lives are colliding as Law & Order: Organized Crime nears the end of its fifth season. The penultimate episode drops on Peacock on Thursday, June 5, and TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek of “Off the Books.” While one of Stabler’s brothers, Randall (Dean Norris), has been home and helping look after their mother, Bernie (Ellen Burstyn), Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter) is embedded with crime boss Julian Emery (Tom Payne). At the end of the last episode, Joe called Stabler to check on their mother (who was in the hospital), and Elliot asked how he was. “Good enough,” Joe said. “Listen, no matter what happens, and it’s going to happen soon, now, Elliot, know that I love you. I made my own choices.” Stabler tried to convince him to let him bring him in so he could protect him, but Joe repeated,...

How Bryan Cranston’s The X Files Role Connects To Breaking Bad! ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Before Walter White ever cooked in an Rv, he was in the passenger seat of a speeding car, screaming for his life, and Bryan Cranston made sure we couldn’t look away! I’ve always believed Walter White didn’t start in Breaking Bad’s pilot. He started in The X-Files. Specifically, Season 6, Episode 2 — Drive. That’s where Cranston first became the man you were scared of, but couldn’t stop rooting for, albeit in the form of Patrick Crump.
That episode didn’t just showcase his range; it convinced Vince Gilligan that Cranston could carry a series built entirely on moral gray zones. The man was hateful, unhinged, spewing bile from the backseat—and yet, by the end, he broke your heart. And Gilligan remembered.
It wasn’t just another X-Files one-off. Back then,...

Three episodes remain of the latest season of Law & Order: Organized Crime. Thursday's episode "Beautiful Disaster" will see Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) lending a helping hand to the Counter Terrorism bureau. In a new sneak peek released, there is a huge complication in Elliot's ability to do his job. Elliot wakes up (clearly not rested) and as he makes his way into the kitchen, he begins to listen to his voicemails and there's one from Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) and one from Elliot's brother, Randall (Dean Norris).
With Bell assuring him that the case with the Camorra seems to be wrapping up and Randall not so gently reminding him about his upcoming therapy appointment, it paves the way for Elliot to heed Bell's advice in the sneak peek to take it easy. Clearly, not everything's gold that comes from the King of Sitcoms, Chuck Lorre. The veteran TV producer and writer might've produced such hits as "The Big Bang Theory," "Two and a Half Men," or "The Kominsky Method," but also had his fair share of missteps. According to some critics and viewers, one of those is the short-lived comedy series "United States of Al," which was created by David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari, with Lorre serving as showrunner and executive producer for the two years the sitcom was on CBS between 2021 and 2022.
The plot focused on the friendship between a Marine war veteran, Riley (Parker Young), and an Afghan interpreter, Awalmir aka Al (Adhir Kalyan), who served together in the same unit while in Afghanistan. Naturally, the show takes place after their service as the two reunite, with Al arriving in the United States to live with Riley and his father,...

After a particularly traumatic undercover mission in the previous episode, where Slootmaeker was attacked while infiltrating an underground trucker meetup, it was revealed in the subsequent episode that she would be leaving the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Detective Bobby Reyes, played by Rick Gonzalez, would reveal to Stabler (Christopher Meloni) in episode 3 why Jet hasn't turned up to work for a while. He told him, "We broke up a few weeks ago. We haven't talked. This trucker serial case really messed her up.

A chorus line of past presidents from past years showed up via old video to give an edited mash-up speech, but there was no current Potus, no VP, no roast by a comedian and few Hollywood power players at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner tonight in Washington DC.
Yet, with Donald Trump still yet to make his Whcd debut as president, White House Correspondents’ Association president Eugene Daniels had no intention of burying the lede Saturday of the barricades up between the current White House and institutional media in America. “We journalists are a lot of things,“ Daniels exclaimed to a standing ovation in his First Amendment celebrating closing remarks on this 96th day of Trump 2.0. “What we are not is the opposition. What we are not is the enemy of the people, and what we are not is the enemy of the state.”

Journalism’s big night out returned on Saturday in Washington as reporters, editors and A-list celebrities mingled at the Washington Hilton at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, an event jokingly called the “nerd prom,” in what was a more muted soirée that, for the fourth time while he has been in the Oval Office, was not attended by President Donald Trump. This year, the Whca opted to focus on the stellar journalism produced as the current administration charges into uncharted territory.
With the absence of the sitting president and the decision to nix a comic brought onstage to roast the leader of the free world — a lighthearted and often funny tradition that typically follows the meal, this year’s dinner continued the event’s downward slide in relevance as a cultural moment. Previous years have seen memorable roasts of sitting presidents and stand out moments from notable names like Joel McHale and Conan O’Brien,...

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner could have certainly used a palate cleanser ahead of the big fete tonight.
Ahead of the annual event this year, comedian Amber Ruffin was unexpectedly pulled as the headlining entertainer of the night. Additionally, President Donald Trump will not be in attendance; he did not go to the event all four years during his last term.
The yearly tradition is a fundraising event for the Whca, supporting the journalists that cover Washington, D.C. and the presidential administration, providing scholarships for the next generation of reporters and highlighting the necessity of the First Amendment. It also typically features a comic that ribs/roasts the current Potus. The night also often draws a slew of Hollywood A-listers, though this year’s attendance is likely to be scant.

It’s fun to flirt with Mariska Hargitay. Just ask Dean Norris. The Law & Order: Organized Crime star has been candid about his expanded role as Detective Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) older brother, Randall, on the hit crime series, which moved from NBC to Peacock this season.
Episode 3 of the Law & Order series just dropped, but the Internet lit up after last week's episode found the elder Stabler passing glances at guest star Hargitay, whose Detective Olivia Benson remained by Elliot Stabler’s bedside. In a recent MovieWeb interview, Dean Norris added:
“I have a restaurant in Temecula, California, called Swinging Café and we serve barbecue. So, I'm always talking about my brisket. Chris always razzles me about that off set. Then he wrote this episode, and lo and behold, my pickup line for Mariska is, ‘Hey baby, you wanna go get some brisket? I make great brisket.

Author's Note: The following article contains spoilers for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5, Episode 3 "Paranza dei Bambini"
This hurts to see so early on in the season. Law & Order: Organized Crime just lost a regular cast member at the end of the latest episode, "Paranza dei Bambini." NBC confirms that Ainsley Seiger, who has spent the last five seasons playing Detective Jet Slootmaekers, exited the series at the end of episode three. The computer whiz detective took a leave of absence after the events of Season 5, Episode 2 "Dante's Inferno" where she's roughed up by a suspect on an undercover operation with Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni). In Episode 3, it's revealed that she was offered a job by the FBI but turned it down. When she's checked in on by Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), she's encouraged to take another look at the FBI's offer. This eventually leads to Jet's departure.

With the new season of Law and Order: Organized Crime, there's a couple of big changes that have come with it. Of course the main one is the fact that the police procedural has moved away from its broadcast slot on NBC and moved on over to the network's streaming service, Peacock. So now, the only spot to watch new episodes is online.
Another major change with Organized Crime season 5 is the fact that the episode count is much lower than previous installments. The season has been cut down to just 10 episodes. With this happening, you might be wondering why. NBC hasn't given an exact reason for this shift, but it's most likely due to the fact that the show has been moved to streaming.
In comparison, the shortest season ever was season 1 that only had 8 episodes. Then that number increased to 22 for seasons 2 and 3. The fourth season comes in at 13 episodes,...

While Law & Order and Svu are on a break this week after their crossover, Law & Order: Organized Crime, now a Peacock original, returns with a new episode tomorrow, April 24. The new episode for the Christopher Meloni-led spin-off is "Paranza dei Bambini" which roughly translates from Italian to "the trawler of children." Ahead of the new episode, a sneak peek has been released featuring the franchise's most iconic sibling duo to date: Elliot (Meloni) and Randall Stabler (Dean Norris). While the sneak peek doesn't offer much context to the greater episode, it reminds fans that times, this franchise is actually a comedy and not just a police procedural.
To recap, the first two episodes of Organized Crime involved Detective Elliot Stabler going undercover and promptly getting hit by an 18-wheeler. The episode "Paranza dei Bambini" is set roughly two weeks after the events of "Dante's Inferno," according to Randall.

Christopher Meloni has admitted he had doubts about Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson's near-kiss on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The pair nearly consummated their on-off romantic chemistry in a Svu season 24 episode.
The 2023 story arc saw Stabler come to Benson's rescue when she was targeted by the dangerous BX9 gang. Once Stabler made sure Benson was safe, he leaned in to try to kiss her. However, Benson turned her head away and admitted to him: "Elliot, I want to, but I can't. What if it doesn't work out?" Stabler encouraged Benson to consider that things between them could work out, but she told him: "Elliot, I'm not ready for this."

After a strong start to the new and long-awaited Season 5, Law & Order: Organized Crime fans are still reeling from the episode featuring Mariska Hargitay's Captain Olivia Benson. The second episode of the season, "Dante's Inferno," picks up after "Lost Highway," where Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) is hit by an 18-wheeler and rushed to the hospital. Ahead of the new season, Norris spoke with Collider's Taylor Gates. During the interview, Norris broke down working with Hargitay in the second episode, which Meloni wrote, as well as how the dynamic has evolved between Elliot and Randall.

Dean Norris is drawing inspiration from two key men in his life as he expands his role as Randall in Law & Order: Organized Crime: series star Christopher Meloni and Norris’ own older brother. The latter is fitting, in fact, because the character of Randall, who was introduced last season on the hit show, is Detective Elliot Stabler’s (Meloni) older brother. In a recent MovieWeb interview, Norris told us how his older bro helped him shape his role.
“I actually kind of use some of [my brother’s] characteristics in Randall, even though they're completely different types of guys. But certain elements of him… I kind of think about when I play Randall. Brothers are brothers. There's a certain universality to it. Caution: This article contains Spoilers for Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 episodes 1 and 2.
Law & Order: Organized Crime has moved to its new home on Peacock, and if the opening episodes are something to judge, this series is going to be its best yet!
Law & Order: Organized Crime has always been different from other shows in the franchise. The focus on Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler working for a special Organized Crime Task Force doesn't do the typical "one and done" episode stories. It goes for long-range storylines over several episodes with story arcs of Stabler and his unit clashing with various crime organizations.
Season 5 wastes no time throwing us into things as Stabler is at home when he gets a call from Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) on how the feds need him to go undercover as an ex-con turned trucker. Stabler soon works for a trucking company used by...

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” returns with the first two episodes of Season 5 on Thursday: The Christopher Meloni-led series now streams exclusively on its new home, Peacock.
Season 5 finds Meloni’s character Elliot Stabler going undercover with a trio of trucking brothers who are also trafficking women on the side.

Having been a fan of the original Law & Order, watching reruns in college on lazy weekday afternoons, I’ve come to expect a certain built-in nostalgia. So imagine my utter shock when the show took the classic intro and tried to modernize it, as disastrously as Madonna’s attempt to “revitalize” Don McLean’s “American Pie.”
Dun Dun.
However, I quickly let my anger fade as Law & Order: Organized Crime settled into what has always made the franchise successful: compelling characters, a likable cast, social commentary, and those ripped-from-the-headlines storylines that keep the series relevant.

The exception here is spinoff, which follows a more ’90s approach reminiscent of the critically acclaimed—but less widely watched—Homicide: Life on the Street. The characters and storylines are less stoic, even more personal, and the emotional stakes resonate.

Don’t ever let it be said that crime doesn’t pay. That’s the lesson in the long-awaited reappearance of this fan-fave series. More than a year after NBC transferred the show to Peacock, Law & Order: Organized Crime has returned with some true grit. “The changeover is significant,” says Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), now a series regular as Randall Stabler, the older, long-estranged brother of the Organized Crime Control Bureau’s Det. The new season of Law & Order: Organized Crime is right around the corner, and the anticipation is starting to boil over. Fans are eager to see what is next for Detective Elliot Stabler and his team to fight over the powerful crime syndicate spinoff that has made it stand out in the Law & Order universe. Meanwhile, Organized Crime follows a different pattern from the original.
It has completely ditched the part where the first half of the show focuses on the policing side, collecting evidence, investigating witnesses, and bringing in the culprit. The second section involves the prosecution side of the procedure, which means courtroom sessions, studying the case, and finally sending out a verdict that decides the fate of the accused. This was a popular format Law & Order followed since it had viewers hooked.

Peacock has unveiled a new look at “Law & Order: Organized Crime” Season 5, featuring guest star Mariska Hargitay reuniting with Christopher Meloni.

I get it, there's a lot to keep up with these days whether it's at the theater, on television, or deep within the seemingly endless options on countless streaming services. But there is only one movie in particular that is available to watch right now that has demonic dogs, a family gathering gone horribly wrong for a young couple introducing their parents to one another, and "crazy noodles" projectile vomiting that had me laughing and gagging at the same time. I'm talking about The Parenting, and I feel like it's flying under the radar way more than any film that has Parker Posey as the quirky host of a rental house and a shoutout to the final episode of M*A*S*H has any right to. The Parenting is now streaming on Max, and it truly does have something for the entire family.

Breaking Bad is arguably one of the best TV shows ever, having a critically acclaimed five-season run. In the series, Bryan Cranston stars as Walter White, a chemistry teacher turned drug kingpin.
The series explores Walter’s slow descent into a truly despicable person, and the fourteenth episode of season 5 is the peak point in his transformation. As a result, the episode titled Ozymandias is widely considered the best hour of television the series has to offer.

In an era before Netflix, B-tier action movies used to come out in theaters, rather than being ported straight to streaming. Think "Timecop," "Under Siege," "Kickboxer," or pretty much any other movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme or Steven Seagal. You could even add some Sylvester Stallone movies like "Cobra" into that mix. By 2001, a lot of the camp style of the late '80s and '90s was fading from the genre, but that didn't stop Jet Li and Jason Statham from adding one more ridiculous, critically panned, but still fun sci-fi actioner.
"The One" is a movie about the multiverse long before that was cool. Directed by frequent "X-Files" scribe James Wong, it follows Li as Gabe Law, a regular police officer on a regular version of Earth. Li also plays Gabriel Yulaw, an evil version of Gabe from another universe. Yulaw was once an agent of the MultiVerse Authority,...

On March 13, 2025, The Parenting, a new horror comedy directed by Craig Johnson, premiered on Max. The film immediately started getting slammed by critics. It currently has a 48% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, but a 79% audience score. What are critics saying is wrong with The Parenting, and what is responsible for this reaction disparity?
For one, critics said that the material was not strong enough for The Parenting's stellar cast, which includes several legends from HBO properties like Brian Cox (Succession), Edie Falco (The Sopranos), and Parker Posey (The White Lotus), and various other stars like Lisa Kudrow (Friends) and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad). The other main critique of TheParenting currently in circulation is that it's not actually scary enough to call itself a horror movie.
Well, if history is any indicator, genre can be a prison, and some of the most beloved, boundary-pushing movies have blurred the lines. If...
