Peacemaker Star John Cena Says He Was Called In At The "Final Hour" For Superman Cameo
Image
Almost all of Superman's biggest surprises leaked online in advance, but John Cena's Peacemaker cameo was one of the few not revealed before the movie swooped into theaters last month.

Christopher Smith was featured on a talk show, tearing into the Man of Tomorrow after the world learned why his parents had really sent him to Earth. It was a fun moment for fans, and tied into Peacemaker's disdain and jealousy for the superheroes who have shunned his attempts to be like them.

In a newly released video, Cena breaks his silence on appearing in Superman, revealing that it was a last-minute decision made by Gunn while he was getting ready to start shooting Peacemaker season 2.

"I was called in at the final hour as we were preparing for Peacemaker season 2," the WWE Superstar explained. "I did the costume fittings for the new Peacemaker season 2 wardrobe. They were filming Superman at the time,...

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: Trailer and James Gunn Announces Theme Song
Image
DC Studios’ 2025 San Diego Comic-Con presence centered around season two of Peacemaker, premiering August 21, 2025 on HBO Max. The Peacemaker panel was one of the most popular at this year’s Comic-Con, and the “Peacefest” activation with props from the series and a live concert was one of the most sought-after tickets.

James Gunn and stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, Tim Meadows, and Sol Rodriguez unveiled the official season two trailer during the Hall H panel. And later, at a special Press VIP “Peacefest” party, Gunn revealed the title song is “Oh Lord” by Foxy Shazam.

“In season two, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands,” reads HBO Max’s synopsis.

Gunn created the series, wrote all eight season two episodes,...

Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer Sees The Anti-Hero Enter A New World With Rick Flag Sr. In Hot Pursuit
Image
The Peacemaker season 2 panel is taking place in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con, and we now have a new trailer for the HBO Max series.

Shortly before this was released, James Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker is set in the Dcu and takes place one month after the events of Superman. So, while it might have made sense to some fans for Christopher Smith to travel from the Dceu to the Dcu, that's not the story being told here.

Gunn did, however, confirm that the Dcu is made up of at least 100 universes, one of which is presumably Matt Reeves' Batverse.

Peacemaker season 2 follows the Dcu's Peacemaker, who discovers an alternate reality where he's a beloved hero, in love with Emilia Harcourt, and basically living his dream life.

The sneak peek also features Rick Flag Sr. gearing up to take the former Task Force X member down for his role in Rick Flag Jr.

Peacemaker Grapples With a Parallel World — and Rick Flag’s Vengeful Dad — in New Season 2 Trailer
Image
Peacemaker is torn between a world where a livid Rick Flag Sr. wants vengeance, and a parallel world where the grass looks awfully greener, in a new Season 2 trailer unveiled Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con.

Details on Peacemaker‘s Season 2 storyline had been scarce for a long while, aside from showrunner/DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn saying, “It essentially picks up where Season 1 left off, with a couple minor differences” — including the fact that the Justice League that Peacemaker crossed paths with in the finale doesn’t exist yet.

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 Trailer Shows John Cena’s Hero In A Parallel Universe – Comic-Con
Image
DC Studios stepped in at San Diego Comic-Con where Marvel Studios use to dwell: the late Saturday spot in Hall H with the James Gunn co-run Warner Bros comic book label bringing the second season of Peacemaker.

But there was also more reason for glee, for as the panel’s moderator Joshua Horowitz observed: “James this is the first time you’ve been in front of crowd since Superman.” And with that, Hall H erupted in cheer.

The panel kicked off with the new trailer for season 2 which shows John Cena’s Christopher Smith enjoying a new parallel dimension he’s found. It’s just like our, and it’s even better. It’s a place where he can hook up with Jennifer Holland’s Harcourt. Meanwhile, back in the real world, Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr (from Superman) is out to close the portal in his face-off with Peacemaker.

The 15 Best Movies Like Superbad
Image
Greg Mottola's "Superbad" did R-rated comedy super good, becoming an instant classic on release in 2007. The insanely-quotable, super-raunchy follows the story of Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill), two high school seniors who are looking forward to one wild night of partying before they graduate. They're sex-obsessed, eager to drink as much as possible, and desperate to prove that they're as cool as their peers ... even though, c'mon, it's high school. No one's cool.

"Superbad" catapulted its leads to stardom, but the behind-the-scenes story of the movie was just as impactful on the comedy scene of that decade. In addition to being produced by Judd Apatow, "Superbad" was written by Seth Rogen and his childhood friend Evan Goldberg, and their unmistakable comedic sensibility would go on to influence the whole genre.

If you're looking for other movies like "Superbad," you could do a whole lot worse than seeing...

Best Comedy Directing Emmy predictions: ‘Hacks,’ ‘The Studio,’ ‘The Bear’ — oh my!
Image
With 99 submissions, this year's Best Comedy Directing category at the Emmys will have six finalists when the nominations are announced July 15.

Similar to the drama category, the comedy directing ballot has a mix of shows that took different approaches to their entries. While some played it smart (see: Hacks and The Studio) submitting one memorable episode that will be a sure-thing to make the final field, others opted for three entries, with Shrinking going up to four. In those cases, overload and potential vote-splitting make it harder to discern which episode entry will make it into the lineup of six — technically five, since one spot is reserved for a multicamera show. (More on that below.)

As mentioned, Hacks and The Studio are essentially locks for this category because of their single options. The HBO Max series has been a consistent nominee — Lucia Aniello won for the first season in 2021 — and it submitted the penultimate episode,...

Why Parker Posey Says She Was “Gaslit” Into Thinking She Couldn’t Lead Big Studio Movies
Image
Parker Posey is opening up about the challenges she faced when making the jump from indie films to studio movies earlier in her career.

The White Lotus star made a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, where she was asked for her reaction to being labeled the “indie queen” in the ’90s, thanks to her iconic roles in Party Girl, Flirt, Dazed and Confused and The Daytrippers. However, Posey admitted that it actually hindered her from getting roles in major studio projects.

“I felt like I was called a name, in a way,” she explained. “My path was more like, ‘Oh, [The Daytrippers director] Greg Mottola did a reading of his movie that he was trying to get financed,’ and then I introduced him to Liev Schreiber who was in Party Girl, and then we do The Daytrippers a year later.

Parker Posey Says She Was ‘Gaslit’ by Hollywood Into Thinking She Couldn’t Lead Studio Films
Image
Parker Posey is looking back on how making the leap from indie films to studio movies impacted her career. The iconic actress said during the “Smartless” podcast, as stated by Variety, that after leading independent films such as “Party Girl” and “Dazed and Confused,” she was iced out of bigger studio features. Posey famously auditioned for “Speed” before the part went to Sandra Bullock, and has been open about also losing roles to Julia Roberts.

“I felt like I was called a name, in a way,” Posey said. “My path was more like, ‘Oh, [‘The Daytrippers’ director] Greg Mottola did a reading of his movie that he was trying to get financed,’ and then I introduced him to Liev Schreiber who was in ‘Party Girl,’ and then we do ‘The Daytrippers’ a year later. Parker Posey Was ‘Gaslit’ Into Thinking She ‘Wasn’t Viable’ For Major Hollywood Movies After the Indie Scene Was ‘Co-opted By the Studio System’: ‘It Was Such a Head Trip’
Image
Parker Posey needed to prove herself all over again when making the jump from indie films to Hollywood productions.

During a recent appearance on the “Smartless” podcast, Posey, who started her career in celebrated independent films like “Party Girl, “Dazed and Confused” and “Basquiat,” was asked if she still considers herself the “indie queen.” Posey answered that once she began being recognized in places “as cool as New York City,” she knew her indie cred was dwindling.

DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn Reveals What DC Studios Is Bringing To This Year's San Diego Comic-Con
Image
This year's San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 24 - 27, less than two months from today. It's a little too soon for studios to announce their presence at the annual convention, but a recent Entertainment Weekly article confirmed that DC Studios will be present.

DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn has now commented on that, and it's hard to say whether this is an exciting or disappointing update from the Superman writer and director.

"It's just me and John [Cena] and Peacemaker," he told a fan who asked whether it will be a Peacemaker-specific panel or one for DC Studios as a whole. "Though of course I'll talk about everything."

While we certainly wouldn't expect Gunn to spill the beans about any surprises he might have planned for the event, it doesn't sound like we're getting a Marvel Studios-style panel revealing a "slate" of future movies and TV shows.

There might be...

Ryan Reynolds' Worst-Reviewed Movie Is A Prime Video Hit 12 Years Later
Image
When "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" surprised its distributor, Artisan Entertainment, by grossing $38 million worldwide on a $5 million budget in 2002, the film industry had no choice but to sit up and examine why this teen-skewing sex comedy far outperformed pricier studio offerings like "Slackers," "Sorority Boys," and "Stealing Harvard." All told, it's a lousy movie, but casting director Barbara Fiorentino unquestionably struck gold by gifting director Walt Becker, who would go on to make even lousier movies, with such primed-for-stardom actors as Kal Penn, Simon Helberg, and Ryan Reynolds.

As the title character, Reynolds worked a more-than-minor miracle by coming on like a Bill Murray-Chevy Chase hybrid. He was flippant as hell, but exuded a sexiness that eluded Chase in his "Saturday Night Live" prime. Reynolds was so charismatic that you wanted to laugh at his every utterance, but the script and Becker's direction stymied him at every turn.

Sony Pictures Television Snags International Rights to Elizabeth Banks, Matthew Macfadyen Marital Comedy Series ‘The Miniature Wife’
Image
In the run up to its LA Screenings event on Sunday, Sony Pictures Television has snapped up global distribution rights to the upcoming series “The Miniature Wife,” starring Elizabeth Banks and “Succession” Emmy-winner Matthew Macfadyen.

The relationship comedy series explores the shifting power dynamics between spouses as a technological mishap triggers the ultimate marital crisis, pitting them against each other in a battle for dominance. It will air on Peacock in the U.S.

Produced by Media Res, the one-hour comedy series is inspired by author Manuel Gonzalez’s eponymous short story about a man who accidentally shrinks his wife.

“We are really excited to be partnering with the talented team at Media Res and can’t wait to bring ‘The Miniature Wife’ to audiences around the world,” said Mike Wald, co-president, Distribution & Networks, Spt, adding: “’The Miniature Wife’ is ‘must have content.’ Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen are an...

Sony Pictures Television Takes Global On Peacock Series ‘The Miniature Wife’

Sony Pictures Television (Spt) has taken global on Peacock’s The Miniature Wife starring Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen.

Spt will sell the show produced by Media Res outside the States.

Revealed by Deadline last year, The Miniature Wife is a high-concept comedy that examines the power imbalances between spouses—played by Banks (Pitch Perfect) and Macfadyen—who battle each other for supremacy after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.

Banks and Macfadyen are joined by Zoe Lister-Jones, Sofia Rosinsky, O-t Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent), and Sian Clifford (Fleabag, The Ballad of Wallis Island) as series regulars. Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, The Daily Show), Rong Fu (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Hello (Again)) and Tricia Black (Small Achievable Goals, Pretty Hard Cases) round out the cast in recurring roles.

Peacemaker Season 2 May Be Laying The Groundwork For Clayface, Not Any Dcu Multiversal Madness
Image
The first trailer for Peacemaker season 2 kicked off with the "Justice Gang" and ended with the title character pointing a gun at another version of himself. Unsurprisingly, that's quickly led to speculation about the series featuring some type of Multiverse element.

Peacemaker season 2 was in the works before DC Studios was formed, no great surprise when the first season, which spun out of the events of 2021's The Suicide Squad, was a critical and ratings hit on Max.

Many fans have raised questions about how Peacemaker season 2 will fit into the wider Dcu tapestry, especially as some moments from the Dceu remain canon, while the majority of others do not. Complicating matters in the case of Peacemaker is the fact that all of the show's leads will return, played by the same actors, despite nearly everyone else being recast.

Then, there's the not-so-small issue of Christopher Smith coming face-to-face with...

Peacemaker Season 2 Stills Highlight The Returning Cast And Rick Flag Sr.; Michael Rooker Spotted In Trailer
Image
DC Studios released the first trailer for Peacemaker season 2 earlier today (watch it here if you missed it). While the presence of Maxwell Lord, Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl is a huge talking point, the preview featuring not one, but two Peacemakers is another.

We can safely say that there's a Multiversal component at play. However, we'd imagine this has something to do with the pocket dimension we first visited in season 1, rather than being a convoluted way of explaining how Christopher Smith ends up in the Dcu.

Still, we can't discount that, and fans have spotted The Suicide Squad star Michael Rooker in the sneak peek. Is the Guardians of the Galaxy star reprising his role as Savant—the cowardly villain who had his head blown off by Amanda Waller in the 2021 movie—or playing someone else entirely?

We'd guess it's the latter as Rooker is seemingly playing...

John Cena, Vigilante and Eagly Are Back (and Kicking Ass) in ’Peacemaker’ Season 2 Teaser
Image
For DC, this will be the summer of Superman (July 21) — but Clark Kent and Krypto the Superdog got nothing on Chris Smith and Eagly. Ok, so they’ve got like a bunch of better powers, it’s true. The point is, summer 2025 also marks the return of Peacemaker to Max.

On Friday, Max released its teaser for Peacemaker season two. John Cena is back as the low-key nicest antihero (of sorts) in the comic book business; with him are trusty sidekicks Eagly and Vigilante (Freddie Stroma). Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick also return for season two. New cast members include Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez and Tim Meadows.

Cena plays Peacemaker, real name Christopher Smith, who continues to “reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost,” per the show’s logline.

This time, per the streamer, “he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost.” Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick reprise their roles, with Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows joining the cast. The series first debuted in 2022.

James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of “Peacemaker” Season 2 and directs three episodes, including the premiere. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones also take on directing duties. Gunn, Peter Safran, and Cena serve as executive producers.

“Peacemaker” is a Max Original series from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television,...

The Overlooked Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Sci-Fi Movie Crushing It On Netflix
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

It appears there is some pent-up demand on the part of audiences for another collaboration between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the duo known best for the Cornetto Trilogy (which they made alongside director Edgar Wright). That trilogy includes "Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz," and "The World's End." But before they finished their cinematic trinity in 2013, Pegg and Frost got together with director Greg Mottola ("Superbad") for a largely overlooked sci-fi comedy in the form of "Paul" -- a movie that has been finding new life on Netflix of late.

Indeed, FlixPatrol reports that 2011's "Paul" is currently occupying the number four spot on Netflix's most-watched movie charts, sitting just above "Twilight" and below only "The Equalizer 2," "Havoc," and "Exterritorial." Director Gareth Evans' "Havoc," it's worth noting, enjoyed a healthy run atop the streamer's charts, having only recently...

Seth Rogen in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)
Superbad | Sony refused to let Jonah Hill use a PlayStation because his character was “vile”
Seth Rogen in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)
Co-writer and star Seth Rogen claims that distributor Sony thought Jonah Hill’s character was “too vile” to interact with a PlayStation console in 2007’s Superbad.

Joint screenwriters Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg put their own teenage experiences in what became their hit 2007 comedy, Superbad – though some of their antics appeared to have been a bit much for distributor, Sony.

While walking the red carpet for his latest comedy, the Apple TV+ series, The Studio, Rogen was asked by Rotten Tomatoes about the funniest note he’d ever received from a company executive. Rogen then revealed that, during the production of Superbad, he was told that Jonah Hill’s character, Seth, was considered so “reprehensible” that he was expressly forbidden from touching a Sony PlayStation.

In a clip uploaded to TikTok (as spotted by Variety), Rogen says: “We were told when we made the movie, Jonah Hill’s character, Seth,...

Simon Pegg & Nick Frost’s Best Movies Are Leaving Netflix Next Month
Image
February will be a sad month for fans of Simon Pegg and his endearing partnership with fellow actor and comedian Nick Frost, as several of their movies, two of which see them under the direction of Edgar Wright as part of the Cornetto Trilogy, are leaving Netflix. Not just the pair, but the creative trio have been working together for decades now, with their sitcom Spacedstill considered one of the best of all time. They shifted their affinity for comedy, action, and more pop culture references than you could possibly keep up with to the big screen with 2004’s Shaun of the Dead, to much success.

Sadly, Shaun of the Dead, which follows Pegg as the titular Shaun, a slacker who finds himself protecting his girlfriend from a zombie apocalypse by...taking her to the pub, is one of the movies leaving Netflix next month. Shaun of the Dead will...

'Keeping Up With the Joneses' May Have Bombed, But it's Found New Life on Streaming
Image
Zach Galifianakis, Isla Fisher, Gal Gadot, Jon Hamm, and fan favorite Patton Oswalt along with director Greg Mottola (Superbad), couldn't save their 2016 action comedy, Keeping Up With the Joneses. The film should have been a solid comedy hit, but instead tanked at the box office and was savaged by critics and audiences alike. However it has found new life on streaming, and sits at number four on Max's Top 10.

Keeping Up With the Joneses had the star power and director to get audiences excited about the film. Galifianakis was riding high with the Hangover trilogy, as Hamm earned major praise and awards as Don Draper on Mad Men (which ended the year before). Meanwhile, Gadot had been cast as Wonder Woman and appeared in Fast & Furious 6. Fisher appeared in hits like Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic.

The plot seems to be in the vein of Mr....

Quick Links What is Adventureland About? Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart Have Awkward But Amazing Chemistry Adventureland's Strange Critical Reception

As the years go by and societal standards change, some movie genres simply fall by the wayside. From the downfall of the erotic thriller to the stark drop-off in found footage releases, sometimes the decline can not be avoided. Comedy, as a wider genre, is notorious for not aging well. While dedicated cinephiles are inclined to go back and appreciate the Marx Brothers, Harold Lloyd, or Charlie Chaplin films, the average moviegoer isn't. This is even applicable to more "recent" releases like 16 Candles or Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, both of which haven't aged as well as fans had hoped. Due to this trend of comedy not being evergreen, it feels foolish to say that any one niche comedy subgenre will survive the test of time, but if anything can do it,...

Jonah Hill Didn’t Like Working With This Actor Who Worked With Him in One of His Best Comedy Movies
Image
Jonah Hill’s rise to stardom in Hollywood was a coming-of-age comedy that still rules as one of the best comedy films of the 2000s, Superbad.

The film saw three teenagers, played by Hill, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, making plans to party and lose their virginity before their high school graduation. Interestingly, Hill found his debutant co-star Mintz-Plasse annoying to film with.

Writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg based the characters of Hill and Cera on themselves during their senior year, hence the characters were named Seth and Evan. Rogen and Goldberg started developing the script in 2000 and it took seven years for them to see their vision on the screen.

10 Popular Movies That Aren't As Good As You Remember
Image
Popular is a tough word when it comes to describing movies. Too often, something is given a negative connotation because it's popular. Appealing to a wide range of audiences and connecting with them is not something to be embarrassed about. Liking or disliking a particular film has no morality attached to it, and there's often a reason that so many viewers feel seen by a project and are engaged by it. However, there are plenty of films that were theatrical hits that have become mythologized by the culture that doesn't live up to the standard set by their popularity.

Critiquing these films is not to say that they aren't good. They are, and even if their initial shine has worn off in the years since they first premiered, that doesn't make them any less fun to watch. It's easy to say that the biggest movie box office bombs of all...

Jesse Eisenberg Thinks Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman Hurt His Career
Image
Life comes at you fast. Once upon a time, actor Jesse Eisenberg wasn't known for anything more than his work as a scrawny character actor in movies like Noah Baumbach's "The Squid and the Whale" and Greg Mottola's "Adventureland." In fact, his biggest cause for concern in those days was beating the allegations that he was the same guy who played Napoleon Dynamite. And then "The Social Network" happened, which net him a Best Actor nomination and ultimately set him on track to become the latest actor-turned-writer/director with this year's brilliant "A Real Pain" (which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival).

But one particularly polarizing role may have caused some serious bumps along the way -- his turn as Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which Eisenberg is now admitting set his career back quite significantly. The refreshingly candid remarks come from a recent...

This Underrated '90s Liev Schreiber Indie Is the Deeper, Bittersweet Holiday Movie You've Been Looking For
Image
Before directing the iconic teen comedy Superbad, Greg Mottola wrote and directed the dysfunctional family dramedy, The Daytrippers, for his feature directorial debut. The film follows Eliza (Hope Davis), who sets out to investigate whether her husband is cheating on her, and her family, who tag along to help her find and confront him. With a terrific ensemble cast including Parker Posey, Liev Schreiber, and Stanley Tucci, The Daytrippers is a tragicomic portrait of a complex and often contentious family dynamic, that still highlights the value of leaning on your family through hard times, depicted through Eliza’s relationship with her sister Jo (Posey).

‘Sweethearts’ Director Told Kiernan Shipka and Gen Z Cast to Flag Anything That Was Too ‘Millennial Cringe’
Image
This story includes spoilers about the Max original “Sweethearts.”

First-time director Jordan Weiss and partner Dan Brier wanted to write a coming-of-age comedy based on their own male-female friendship.

The two best friends first met at a young writers group, but “Sweethearts,” their Max original movie, is the first project the two have actually written together.

“It grew out of a road trip that we went on in 2019, where we were just driving across the country,” Brier said. “Because we met fresh out of college, there were a lot of stories and people and worlds that we didn’t know about each other’s past.”

From there, the characters and the world of “Sweethearts” was born. Weiss told TheWrap that Jamie and her lack of female friendships was a lot like herself as a freshman in college, and Brier said that the leads’ relationship mirrors much of his own relationship...

Gal Gadot’s $28 Million Box Office Flop May Change Critics’ Minds About Her Acting Chops
Image
Gal Gadot has been in the industry for a while now but audiences and critics alike have been divided about her acting ability. The actress gained recognition through her portrayal of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and later movies.

However, one action comedy put a blemish on her so-far-so-good filmography. The 2016 film Keeping Up with the Joneses experienced a disastrous reception at the box office and failed to create a substantial impact. Surprisingly, the lack of success was not due to the cast’s inability to perform, but due to the staleness of the script. Gadot especially managed to impress critics with her alluring and charming portrayal.

The polarizing reviews: Can she act?

Over the years, the audience’s views of Gal Gadot and her capability as an actress have taken a huge downslide. The actress aced her role of the suave and graceful Princess Diana...

Superbad Cast & Where They Are Now
Image
The 2007 teen comedy Superbad has an outstanding ensemble cast full of big-name stars. Most of Superbad's best quotes are from its three main characters, Seth, Evan, and Fogell aka McLovin, who are played by Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, respectively. Directed by Greg Mottola, Superbad is written by comedic partners Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, the latter of whom plays Officer Michaels in the film. The protagonists, Seth and Evan, are loosely based on Rogen and Goldberg and their real-life experiences growing up as seniors in high school in Vancouver, Canada.

Superbad was the 21st highest-grossing movie in 2007 with a domestic total of $121.46 million. It was a breakout movie for both Hill and Cera and is widely considered a landmark film in the modern comedy genre. It was the feature film writing debut of both Rogen and Goldberg, who went on to pen other classic comedy films...
