James Blunt is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his breakout album Back to Bedlam with an October 11th re-release, and it comes with a promise: If fans can take the record to the top of the UK album charts, Blunt will change his name to “whatever the public want.”
“I have signed up to changing my name to whatever the public want – they can change my name,” Blunt told Radio X’s Chris Moyles in a recent interview. “It’s a genuine thing. I swear on my life and the life of my one fan – Brian from Glasgow – I will change my name should it hit number one.”
He clarified that he is, in fact, not kidding about this. “I swear on Brian’s life and my life. To whatever the public want – and of course the public are going to kind, they’re not going to go for anything...

On the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, actor Christopher Walken, 80, made a surprise cameo in the episode’s cold open.
Walken started cast alongside Mikey Day as President Joe Biden, in a skit where Biden decorated the Oval Office for Halloween. In the sketch, Biden greeted the newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson (Michael Longfellow) and his son (Devon Walker).
Walken’s bizarre Halloween character, clad in a black and orange cape, appears as “The spirit of Halloween…The Ghost of All Hallows Past. In South America, they call me ‘Papa Pumpkin’.”
An alternate take on Santa Claus’ chimney route, Walken explains that ‘Papa Pumpkin’ entered the White House through the toilet.
Walken offered holiday advice, “Meet the neighbors you don’t wanna see again on any other day. After all, you can’t spell ‘Halloween’ without, ‘hello’!”

Barry Keoghan – the star whose terrific, twitchy perfomance as the sweet and lonely son of an abusive policeman in The Banshees of Inisherin captivated viewers and earned him an Oscar nod – is inspiring young people in his home city of Dublin.
The manager of a Dublin youth club where the Bafta-winning actor starred in one of his first dramatic roles has hailed the 30-year-old Irishman as a “fantastic role model” who is already an inspiration for the next generation.
Keoghan – who is also nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor alongside the veteran Irish actor Brendan Gleeson – was praised after dedicating his Bafta win to Ireland and “the kids that are dreaming to be something from the area I come from”.
The Dubliner’s mother struggled with drug addiction and died when he was a child, and he was placed in a dozen foster homes along with his brother...

Suki Waterhouse says she’s “annoyed” that women in music often have to choose between their careers and having a family.
The actor and musician is starring as keyboardist Karen Sirkoin in Daisy Jones & The Six, a new series that explores the rise and fall of a fictional band in the 1970s.
The mockumentary, based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, also stars Riley Keough (Elvis Presley’s granddaughter), Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, Camila Morrone, Will Harrison, Nabiyah Be and Josh Whitehouse.
Waterhouse’s character is the only woman in the rock band before the character Daisy Jones, played by Keough, joins as the lead singer.
The actor was speaking about her research for the role when she claimed she was frustrated that women in music often have to choose between family and music.

Charlotte Church has reflected on Chris Moyles offering to take her virginity when she was 16 in comparison to the “more underground” misogyny of 2023.
Church rose to fame as a classical singer as a child, before going on to pursue a career in pop music in the mid Noughties.
In 2002, Moyles, who was then presenting BBC Radio 1’s drive-time show, offered to take the singer’s virginity, saying that he wanted to “lead her through the forest of sexuality now she had reached 16”.
Church, 37, makes an appearance on Kathy Burke: Growing Up, a new documentary for Channel 4 exploring the subject of ageing, in which Church opened up about the public reaction to her changing as she got older.
“It felt like it started to get dark when you were basically reaching puberty, that’s when they started to write about you differently,” Burke says, in a clip obtained by Metro.

“I love that song so much – Foo Fighters, and ‘Walk’,” he said on the air. “They’ve got a new album coming out in, er, March, Foo Fighters… which I’m very much looking forward to.”

Moyles made no further mention of the Foos in the broadcast, but his supposed knowledge of a new album sent shockwaves through fan sites, something Moyles addressed in a subsequent broadcast.
“I’ve caused a bit of a kerfuffle,” he said after his remarks unexpectedly made headlines.

Matt Hancock has admitted that he knew joining I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! would be “controversial”.
The former health secretary, 44, whose stint in the Australian jungle prompted criticism from the Prime Minister and MPs across the political spectrum, entered the reality TV competition early this month as a late contestant.
He ended up coming third during the series finale on Sunday (27 November) behind the winner, former England footballer Jill Scott, and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner as runner-up
Hancock claiming 21.7 per cent of the initial public vote and, during the post-series Coming Out Show on Thursday (1 December), said that ultimately “millions of people” voted for him.
The special reunion episode will show Hancock being reunited with his partner Gina Coladangelo and attending a wrap party for the show.

Chris Moyles has revealed how much weight he lost during his time on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
The ITV show is famous for causing substantial weight loss among contestants as they subsist on a sparse diet of rice and beans between infrequent treats.
Moyles became the sixth campmate to be voted out of the jungle during Thursday (24 November) night’s episode.
The DJ spoke about his weight loss from the show with Toby Tarrant on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Friday (25 November).

The radio presenter and disgraced politician discussed the subject of cabinet reshuffles on Thursday’s episode (24 November) of the hit ITV reality series.
Moyles questioned Hancock over how the cabinet reshuffles work, asking: “If you’re an MP and you’re tooting along doing your MP job, how does it work? Do you get a phone call saying, ‘Hi, would you like to be Minister of Transport?’”
Hancock went on to explain the process in detail, stating that “it is literally a reshuffle as in they’re moving names across this whiteboard”.

Owen Warner has said he is “fuming” over the latest challenge on I’m a Celebrity.
The actor grew frustrated during the “Save Sorting Office” trial, which he and Chris Moyles did during Thursday’s episode (24 November) of the ITV hit series.
The Bushtucker trial saw Warner strapped into a harness that was attached to a small crane operated by Moyles.
Warner was then tasked with searching through multiple boxes – filled with mud crabs, eels, rats, and snakes, and green ants – to find the stars. Meanwhile, Moyles was receiving small electric shocks regularly.
Once he collected the star, Warner then had to throw it into a small slit in a post office box.
Warner only managed to get one of six stars in the box, leading him to grow frustrated.
“Mate this is so much harder than it looks,” said the actor when he was doing the challenge. “I’m fuming,...

Speaking to Ant and Dec – after spilling champagne on himself – Aléshé said that he “needed my freedom” after his time in the jungle.
“Spending two and a bit weeks in there is hardcore,” he said.
However, viewers at home were sad to see Aléshé go, with former Oasis frontman Gallagher commenting: “F*** off love baba Tunde [sic] can’t live in a world where T*** Hancock still pulling the wool.”
Aléshé replied to Gallagher’s tweet, commenting: “Man Like Liam Gallagher!!!!!!!!!”
Questioned why Aléshé had been the least popular contestant over the likes of Hancock and Chris Moyles.

Boy George has become the fourth contestant to be eliminated from the 2022 season of I’m a Celebrity.
Hosts Ant and Dec revealed that the Culture Club star had revealed the fewest “votes to save” from the public and was then told to leave the jungle immediately.
The singer, born George Alan O’Dowd, lasted 18 days in the jungle. His departure follows that of Coronation Street actor Sue Cleaver, who left on Monday (21 November).
Radio DJ Chris Moyles narrowly avoided elimination, as he was revealed to have been in the bottom two.
Boy George’s time on the programme was not without controversy; he was a vocal opposer of Matt Hancock joining the jungle, and most recently was criticised for eating a banana without the express permission of his fellow campmates.
He also briefly discussed his 2008 criminal conviction with former A Place in the Sun host Scarlette Douglas.

Twenty years in, you know what you’re getting with I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. Soap actors will nibble on fried genitals. Spiders will crawl across singers’ foreheads. Black women will be voted out first. In 2019, Adele Roberts was the inaugural camper to be given her marching orders. Eighties pop queen Sinitta placed 11th in 2011. Even This Morning staple and universally adored national treasure Alison Hammond barely squeaked into 10th place in the 2010 series.
After two weeks of the ITV series’ 22nd season, the tradition holds steady: newsreader Charlene White and TV presenter Scarlette Douglas have been the first and second contestants to be eliminated from the competition. It’s not as if other candidates couldn’t have filled those unenviable boots. Matt Hancock’s inclusion in this year’s camp roster has dominated many viewer discussions, while the outspoken singer Boy George has proved a polarising presence.

Charlene White has become the first person to leave the I’m a Celebrity jungle.
Fans of the ITV survival show had been voting for the famous face they most wanted to save since Thursday (17 November).
In Friday’s (18 November) edition of the programme, Ant and Dec announced that the newsreader had received the fewest number of votes and would be leaving the jungle immediately after 14 days.
Tearfully, she hugged the celebrities and made her way out of the camp.
Owen Warner, Sue Cleaver and Scarlette Douglas looked particularly disappointed to see her go.
Earlier in the episode, Boy George and White took part in a Bushtucker Trial called “Watery Grave”, in which they had to climb into underwater tombs to retrieve stars.
Since she had a documented fear of underground spaces and spiders, the Loose Woman admitted that she’d struggle with the task.

The first elimination of I’m a Celebrity 2022 will take place tonight (Friday 18 November) – but who could be at risk?
Culture Club singer Boy George, presenter Scarlette Douglas and Loose Women star Charlene White are all in trouble, with former footballer Jill Scott and ex-Rugby player Mike Tindall thought to be the safest.
A spokesperson for BritishGambler.co.uk said on Thursday 17 November: “Although Scarlette and Charlene have been the bookmakers’ early favourites to be the first campmates to be voted out, it now appears that it may be Boy George who will leave the jungle first…
“Many fans are getting quite worked up by Boy George’s behaviour, which has triggered talk about his past conviction, amongst other things. As it stands, 57 per cent of bets have been on Boy George to be the first to leave.”
Earlier this week, Boy George shut down questions from Douglas about his court case.

Jill Scott had to be seen by a medic after a cockroach got stuck in her ear onI’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
Thursday’s episode (17 November) featured a fairground-themed Bushtucker Trial voted for by campmates rather than the public.

Picture the scene. It’s the end of November. Matt Hancock has been named king of the jungle. After a month of tears, torture and tepid banter, he has obliterated all competition. Boy George has made zero impact. Mike Tindall is in the dust. Jill Scott is no one. The public have voted to humiliate the former health secretary, and he has eaten it up. Literally: he has eaten every species of testicle. But at some point during this process there came a moment when the tide started to turn. When, exactly, is hard to say: when he taught Chris Moyles how to do parkour? When he played truth or dare round the campfire and admitted he thinks Dominic Cummings is a “gimp”? Or when, on his ninth bushtucker trial, he was finally broken, weeping into a bath of eels? No one knows. But this much is true: he may have lost the Tory whip,...

Paralympic athlete Hollie Arnold has claimed that Ant and Dec’s jokes about her on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! made online abuse about her “worse”.
The gold medal-winning javelin thrower became the first disabled contestant to appear on the show in 2020, when the series was filmed in Gwrych Castle in Wales.
After Arnold used her MBE title when introducing herself to her fellow campmates, her words were parodied by presenters Ant and Dec, with Ant referring to himself as “Ant McPartlin, MBE”.
Speaking to The Sun, Arnold said that she had been made to feel “ashamed” of her title and pressured into removing it from her social media profile.
“I received so much abuse and read all of this horrible nonsense online,” she said. “People thought I was above myself but I’m literally the most chilled and laidback person ever.

Matt Hancock shared his honest views on Liz Truss ‘s “political career” on I’m a Celebrity... Ge Me Out of Here.
The former health secretary for the Conservative Party has faced candid questions from his fellow campmates since the show started earlier this month.
While the majority of these queries have regarded his handling of the pandemic, as well as the controversy regarding the lockdown rule he broke, on Tuesday night’s episode (15 November), the subject of his Tory colleagues arose.
When Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver asked Hancock “what went wrong” with Truss, who resigned as prime minister after just 45 days in office, he replied: “In a way, they were unlucky in that globally interest rates all went up, just at the time that they were also bringing in a financial statement where you say, ‘We’re going to do all these expensive things and we’re not...

Kim Woodburn has said that she’s “bored sick” of the contestants on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! complaining about Matt Hancock.
The How Clean Is Your House? presenter appeared on the ITV reality show in 2009, when she placed second behind Gino D’Acampo.
Writing for Metro.co.uk, Woodburn said that she was annoyed watching the campmates moaning about Hancock, then eating the food he won in the Bushtucker Trials.
“Not one of them that moans about him has got the courage of their own convictions,” Woodburn said. “Oh, they’ll eat his food while they pull him to pieces. You two-faced bunch of pigs!... Bloody stop this nonsense. Stop it altogether.”
Woodburn then complained about Hancock being voted by the public to take part in his first six Bushtucker Trials.
“We know the outcome and want to see other people do it and suffer,” she wrote.

I’m a Celeb viewers accuse ‘childish’ Boy George of ‘stirring’ drama with Matt Hancock over potatoes
I’m a Celeb viewers have accused “childish” Boy George of picking a fight with Matt Hancock.
On Monday night’s (14 November) episode of the hit ITV reality series, the singer was assigned cleaning duties by new camp leader Hancock and his deputy Charlene White.
The former health secretary – whose controversial arrival to the jungle left Boy George in tears – asked the musician whether the side of potatoes could be washed before they were cooked.
George became angry at the request and accused his fellow campmate of “kicking off”. Behind Hancock’s back, he said: “You f***ing clean them.”
Viewers, however, have defended Hancock and suggested that the “Karma Chameleon” singer overreacted and is “looking for a row”.
“Boy George is a joke. The suggestion of washing the potatoes was said perfectly politely and George starts stirring it: “Matt is kickin’ off…’” said one viewer.

Chris Moyles has revealed that the way his 2012 exit from the Radio 1 breakfast show was handled left him feeling “a bit cross”.
Moyles led the extremely popular BBC radio broadcast for almost nine years – longer than any other presenter before or since – totalling 15 years at the station.
He was succeeded by Nick Grimshaw who gave way to Greg James in 2018.
Speaking to MP Matt Hancock on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here on Monday night’s episode (14 November), Moyles said his departure was handled “so badly”.
“I knew that Radio 1 is a conveyor belt and you might be there for a year or you might be there for 15 years, but you’re going to fall off the end at some point,” he said.
Hancock asked: “Politics is like that. Did you know the end was coming? Did you leave happy or did you leave cross?”

Matt Hancock has been named as camp leader on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
During Sunday (13 November), the contestants were told that the public had voted Mike Tindall and Hancock as potential leaders of the camp.
Tindall chose Sue Cleaver as his deputy, while Hancock picked Charlene White.
“Let’s do this. You couldn’t make leader of the Conservatives, but you’re leader of camp,” White told Hancock, with the MP replying: “Not yet!”
They then took part in a challenge, which Hancock won. Back at the camp, the other contestants said that they hoped Tindall would win the challenge and would be the leader instead.
When they returned, Jill Scott let out a disappointed sigh, while Chris Moyles said: “Matt Hancock is our leader. Words that nobody in Britain ever thought that they would hear.”

Chris Moyles wasn’t buying Matt Hancock’s emotional plea for forgiveness on I’m a Celebrity.
During Friday’s episode (11 November), the former health secretary was confronted by his campmates about his handling of the UK’s Covid-19 response and his infamous kissing scandal.
Hancock resigned in June 2021 after his affair with aide Gina Coladangelo was exposed, revealing he’d broken his own guidance on social distancing.
Loose Women anchor and newsreader Charlene White told the MP for West Sussex that her aunt died during the pandemic and she was not able to see her, “so ‘sorry’ for a lot of families like mine doesn’t really cut it”.
He replied: “Thats one of the reasons that I... regret it as much as I do.”
An emotional Hancock later told White: “Do you know what it is actually, what I’m really looking for is a bit of forgiveness,...

I’m a Celebrity 2022 is here – and the series has returned to Australia for the first time in three years.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are back on hosting duties for the annual reality series, which this year features a musician, a DJ and a disgraced politician as part of its line-up.
One such celebrity taking part in the series is Owen Warner – but who is he?
Warner is a British actor best known for playing the role of Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks.
The 32-year-old first joined the soap in 2018 and has found himself at the centre of several key storylines.
Warner, who hails from Leicester, is considered to be a friend of I’m a Celebrity having previously appeared on discussion show I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp, which airs on ITV2, multiple times.
Shortly after he was announced as a contestant, Warner became one of the early favourites to win.

I’m a Celebrity’s first Bushtucker Trial has resulted in some viewer concerns over Chris Moyles’s safety.
During Monday night’s (7 November) episode of the much-loved survival programme, four contestants took part in the first big task of the season, in order to win meals for the camp.
Moyles, Boy George, Scarlette Douglas and Olivia Attwood had been selected via a public vote to compete in a trial named “Hms Drown Under”.
While Moyles and Boy George were placed in tanks with goggles over their eyes, Attwood and Douglas were in charge of unscrewing taps that were hidden in small holes in a wall, dodging spiders, snakes, entrails and other unsavoury items.
As Attwood and Douglas unscrewed, Moyles and Boy George’s tanks began to fill with cold water that steadily rose as the challenge progressed.
As time went on, the Radio X DJ became increasingly nervous.

Matt Hancock will enter the jungle for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on Tuesday (8 November), it has been confirmed.
The former health secretary, 44, is expected to join the original contestants in camp after spending a period of time in isolation.
It is understood his entrance will be teased by co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly during Tuesday night’s show.
Following his decision to join the reality series, Hancock had the Tory whip suspended and came under fire from across the political divide for opting to appear on the show while working as a sitting MP.
Hancock has been given access to his phone and laptop during his isolation, allowing him to continue working and stay in touch with constituents.
Along with comedian Seann Walsh, who has been widely reported as the second surprise entry, he will join the campsite shortly.

I’m a Celeb was forced to relocate to Wales due to the pandemic, but this year’s crop of celebrities are back where the show truly belongs: Down Under.

Olivia Attwood has quit I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! just one day into the new series.
It’s been revealed that the TV personality was forced to withdraw from the reality show due to a medical matter.
ITV confirmed the news to The Independent, stating that the former Love Island star left the series “as a precautionary measure” in order to “undergo some medical checks”.
A spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation. She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed on the show.”
The team running Attwood’s Instagram page wrote on Monday (7 November) night that the public would soon learn the reason for her exit.
“To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement, she dreamed of doing I’m A Celeb for years,...

Matt Hancock, Boy George and Chris Moyles are among the famous faces entering the jungle for I’m a Celebrity this year... but how long will they last?
With many already speculating that Hancock will be voted to do most of the Bushtucker Trials, it begs the question: if the celebrities really can’t take it any more and they want to quit, then what happens?
Is it actually possible for celebrities to quit and still get paid?
It has been reported in the past that contestants must stay in the camp for at least 72 hours in order to receive full payment from ITV. But when Gemma Collins notoriously quit the show in 2017 after just three days of it being on air, she received a smaller fee than if she had stayed longer.
Following her exit from the show, the reality star said she was going to donate the £4,800 she made to Save the Children.

There’s been an awful lot of coverage about how awful Matt Hancock is, and how awful it is that this unworthy cur is going to make an awful lot of money out of his appearance on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Personally, I’m looking forward to our downgraded former health secretary sweating like a pensioner in a care home during the earlier stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. The difference is that Hancock will know deep down that, unlike the unvaccinated, unprotected Covid victims, he won’t die a needless death.
Sadly, he wasn’t on hand for the inaugural episode of this gruelling three-week ordeal – for viewers and contestants alike. When he does arrive, ITV bosses will probably be thrilled with the number of premium rate phone calls coming in to nominate him for some suitably harsh punishment, including from bereaved folks who feel...

In a year of chaos and confusion, another surprise – the 2022 I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! cast are actually famous. Not only can I both recognise and name Boy George, Mike Tindall, Chris Moyles and – in the name of Covid! – Matt Hancock, but I actually know a bit about their backstories, and probably too much in the case of Hancock. Obviously, the former health secretary and privy councillor seized this opportunity like it was a fanciable spad, and I’m not that surprised.
I met him once, many years ago. He was a bag-carrier for the then chancellor, George Osborne, and he struck me as being superficially friendly and likeable, but somehow ultimately untrustworthy. So it has indeed proved, for his country, his party and his family. Maybe, soon, for his new friends in Australia, too. Harsh, but, you know the law of the jungle.
