10 Anime MCs That Luffy Fans Will Love
Image
One Piece has set the precedent in many ways, especially when it comes to creating a larger-than-life main character like Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy is known for being that overly energetic character who rushes headfirst into danger to get that sweet taste of adventure. In doing so, he brings countless people together through his heroic acts, even though he claims he isn’t a hero. Luffy’s freedom-seeking, never-say-die attitude is what led him to become the prototypical shōnen anime protagonist.

Since One Piece’s debut in 1999, many characters have adopted some similarities to Luffy. Of course, this doesn’t mean every anime is intentionally trying to replicate Luffy’s unique traits—he is one of a kind. However, his personality type, Esfp, is one that many mangakas utilize. This personality type resonates well with audiences, and it's because ESFPs have an infectious energy and a down-to-earth nature about them.

Film Review: Tokyo Ghoul (2017) by Kentaro Hagiwara
As is the tendency in Japanese cinema, particularly during the last decade, another very popular manga/anime is adapted into a live-action movie, in a trend that has produced both great films and huge blunders (Attack on Titan). Let us see what category does “Tokyo Ghoul” falls under.

The story takes place in a world infested by Ghouls, vampire-like creatures that look like humans but are actually monsters, that feed solely on human flesh. The problems instigated by them are so significant that the police has introduced a special branch that deals exclusively with them, with Kureo Mado and his assistant, Kotaro Amon being the enforcers. This world suddenly collapses upon Ken Kaneki, a university student who finally manages to get a date with Rize Kamishiro, only to find that she is a ghoul. In the extreme series of events that follow, Ken transforms into a hybrid of human and ghoul,...

‘Tokyo Ghoul’ Blu-ray Review
Stars: Masataka Kubota, Fumika Shimizu, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Hiyori Sakurada, Yu Aoi, Shoko Aida, Kenta Hamano, Kunio Murai | Written by Ichiro Kusuno | Directed by Kentaro Hagiwara

Live-action anime adaptions have an interesting history to say the least. They can be great but some have been rather problematic (Dragonball Evolution). One of the latest franchises to receive the live-action treatment is Tokyo Ghoul so the question is: Where does it stand among adaptions?

Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls exist among humans. Ghouls can only survive by feeding on human flesh so because of this, they have to hide themselves in order to avoid capture by the authorities. The story centers on average college student, Ken Kaneki, who is attacked by his date who turns out to be a ghoul. Unfortunately, surviving this may not have been a blessing as Kaneki is transformed into a half-ghoul as a...
