Not long after the main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps was announced, several supporting players were added to the Marvel Studios reboot, but their characters were not disclosed and we still don't know who they'll be playing.
We'd be very surprised if Paul Walter Hauser wasn't cast as the villainous Mole Man, and there's speculation that Natasha Lyonne will either play Ben Grimm's love-interest Alicia Masters, or provide the voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot.
As for John Malkovich, Murphy's Multiverse's Charles Murphy is reporting that the legendary actor is actually playing one of the team's oldest villains, Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost.
In the comics, Kragoff was a Russian scientist who attempted to replicate the conditions that gave the Fantastic Four their powers. After building a ceramic ship, he flew to the moon with three trained apes: Peotor the Orangutan,...

After ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ the DC Universe (Dcu) officially assumed control from the Dceu, placing iconic comic characters under the guidance of Safran and Gunn. Although the animated show ‘Creature Commandos’ is intended to inaugurate the Dcu, the live-action dimension commences with the release of ‘Superman: Legacy,’ identified by Safran and Gunn as the true starting point of the Dceu. Other confirmed projects include ‘The Authority,’ centered on the eponymous team, ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ featuring Milly Alcock as Dcu’s Supergirl, and ‘Paradise Lost,’ a TV series delving into Wonder Woman-themed narratives on Themyscira.
Despite casting major roles like Superman, Lois Lane, and Supergirl, the live-action Batman in the Dcu remains unknown. According to Charles Murphy, the next significant role the studio is set to cast is that of the Caped Crusader, with a casting call anticipated to be released “very soon.”

Following the release of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ Dcu officially took over from the Dceu and now some of the most iconic characters in comics history are in the hands of Safran and Gunn. The Dcu is meant to start with the animated show ‘Creature Commandos,’ however, the live-action portion of this cinematic universe is kicking off the release of ‘Superman: Legacy’ which both Safran and Gunn consider to be the true start of Dceu. Several other projects are also confirmed to be in development, ‘The Authority’ focusing on the team of the same name, ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ that would see Milly Alcock in the role of Dcu’s Supergirl, ‘Paradise Lost’ a tv show focusing on Wonder Woman-oriented lore set on Themyscira.

The Marvel Studios’ cinematic journey in 2023 hit a rough patch, despite the high stakes of initiating the next saga and introducing the formidable Kang the Conqueror. Unfortunately, two out of the three released movies faced disappointing outcomes, with ‘Secret Invasion’ joining the ranks of the MCU’s least well-received Disney+ shows.
Faced with a downturn in profits, Bob Iger emphasized the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity. As a result, the 2024 release lineup appears modest, with ‘Deadpool 3’ likely standing as the sole movie in the spotlight. Various projects, such as ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ experienced delays due to necessary extensive reshoots. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ underwent a comprehensive overhaul after more than half of its episodes had already been filmed. Additionally, the SAG-AFTRA strike cast its shadow, affecting the production timeline of several projects beyond the MCU.

2023 was not a good movie for Marvel Studios, despite it being an incredibly important year since it was supposed to kick off the next saga and introduce the new primary villain, Kang the Conqueror. Two of our three released movies flopped, and ‘Secret Invasion’ was among the critics pronounced to be one of the worst McU-based shows that were ever released in Disney+.
Reflecting on record-low profits, Bob Iger commented that they need to focus on quality over quantity, and this is why the 2024 release slate is rather humble, with ‘Deadpool 3’ likely being the only movie to be released. Several other projects were pushed back, like ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ due to needing extensive reshoots. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ received a complete overhaul after more than half of the episodes had been shot.
