“I Could Throw A Tantrum & Not Be Fired”: James Gunn's Superman & Guardians Of The Galaxy Collaborator Explains Why He Prefers Working With DC
Image
Superman's co-composer, John Murphy, explains why he prefers working with DC in comparison to Marvel Studios. The composer is a frequent collaborator of James Gunn, having written scores for Guardians of the GalaxyVol. 3 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad for the DC Extended Universe.

The highly rated new Superman movie marked the latest project from the 28 Days Later composer, who wrote the tracks "Theme from Superman (Official Trailer Version)," "LuthorCorp," "Lois & Clark," "Raising the Flag," and "Walking on Air."

In an interview with ScreenRant, Murphy compared his experience working with Marvel Studios and DC. He shared that he came to work with Marvel on GotG Vol. 3, and while he appreciated the overall "professional" approach, he did feel the emotional distance and admitted to having to "deal with politics separately." DC, on the other hand, which is tied to "an old relationship,...

‘Superman’ Secrets Revealed: The James Gunn Spoiler Interview
Image
“I wanted a Superman who could be beaten,” Superman writer-director and DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn told Rolling Stone before the release of his film. David Corenswet’s Kal-El does take more than his share of punches in the film, but he turns it around in the end — and the movie itself is flying to its own triumphs at the box office. “Those weekday numbers have been incredible,” Gunn says.

Just after a press tour that took him around the world, Gunn joined Rolling Stone by Zoom for a follow-up...

‘I’m going to composer hell for this’: ‘Superman’ composers on adapting John Williams’ ‘sacred’ anthem for their super-score
Image
In the annals of hallowed movie scores, John Williams boasts the Holy Trinity of Jaws, Star Wars, and Superman. And woe be unto any composer that strives outdo those immortal soundtracks — particularly if they try to put their own stamp on one of the reigning gods of movie music.

That's a risk that John Murphy and David Fleming were both well aware of when James Gunn persuaded them to collaborate on the score for his relaunch of the Man of Steel's feature film franchise. Past Superman revivals have handled the challenge in different ways. John Ottman's score for 2006's Superman Returns didn't mess with success, preserving the Williams title anthem with little to no changes. But Hans Zimmer left the "Superman March" out of his score for 2013's Man of Steel — one of many controversial departures that movie made from the template established the Christopher Reeve films.

I Rewatched Man of Steel, and There Are 7 Reasons Why It’s Better Than Superman
Image
James Gunn’s Superman has opened to both commercial and critical highs, already surpassing Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel in terms of being a more faithful adaptation of the DC icon. However, faithful doesn’t always equate to being better, and for all its flaws, Snyder’s version does stand out in several key areas, whether it’s the awe-inspiring score or the main antagonist.

Although the argument behind which movie is better entirely boils down to the viewers’ preference, let’s look at seven key moments that give the Henry Cavill-led feature the edge over its Dcu counterpart in this debate.

Hans Zimmer’s Score Elevates Man of Steel to Another Level

John Williams’ score for Superman is unparalleled, and seeing James Gunn’s Superman harkening back to it with the new score, by John Murphy & David Fleming, was enthralling. While Hans Zimmer avoided referencing Williams’ iconic theme,...

Patrick Dempsey’s New Hitman Show Casts A 100 Star As A Dangerous Killer

The upcoming drama follows Dempsey's character, Angelo Ledda, who is a hit man with early-onset Alzheimer’s. As per Variety, Memory of a Killer hasnow cast Richard Harmon as a hitman named Joe, who works for Angelo and Dutch. Richard Harmon Joins ‘Memory of a Killer’ Starring Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli at Fox
Image
Richard Harmon has been cast as a series regular in “Memory of a Killer,” an upcoming Fox drama set for a midseason premiere during the 2025-2026 television season.

“Memory of a Killer” follows Angelo Ledda (Patrick Dempsey), a hit man who has developed early onset Alzheimer’s. Harmon will play Joe, a hit man who works for Angelo and Dutch (Michael Imperioli). Per his official character description, Joe “gets stuck with the grunt work – gathering recon and sorting getaway plans – but that puts him in prime position to witness Angelo’s Alzheimer’s decline. Joe knows he could make or break Angelo, but he also knows that choice could cost him everything.”

Harmon recently starred as Erik Campbell in “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” which debuted in theaters in May, and is best known for playing John Murphy in “The 100,” which ran on the CW for seven seasons from 2014 to 2020. His...

Richard Harmon Joins Patrick Dempsey & Michael Imperioli In Fox Hitman Thriller Series ‘Memory Of A Killer’
Image
Richard Harmon (Final Destination: Bloodlines) is set as a series regular alongside Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli in Fox’s Memory of a Killer, the new straight-to-series thriller drama from Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment.

Memory of a Killer, from writers Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, is inspired by the award-winning 2003 Belgian thriller De Zaak Alzheimer (La Memoire Du Tueur), and follows Angelo Ledda (Dempsey), a hitman who is leading a dangerous double life while hiding an even deadlier personal secret: He has developed early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Harmon will play Joe, a hitman on the rise working for Angelo (Dempsey) and Dutch (Imperioli) in their clandestine crime business. ‘Superman’ Composers on Honoring John Williams’ Original Heroic Theme and Creating Lex Luthor’s Villain Motif
Image
Nicholas Hoult plays the perfect megalomaniac, Lex Luthor, in James Gunn’s “Superman.”

As Superman’s arch-nemesis, the powerful owner of LutherCorp, he can’t stand that people look up to the Man of Steel and not him. With billions of dollars at his disposal and tech masterminds at his service, Luthor sets out to banish Superman from Earth forever.

For co-composer John Murphy, Luthor’s theme was one of the first he wrote. “James will send me the script and I’ll start writing main themes for the movie, and he’ll use those demos to shoot the movie too,” Murphy explains. It’s how the pair have collaborated ever since “Suicide Squad” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 3.” This time around, Gunn wanted to nail Luthor early in the process.

“There are actually two themes. There’s the main theme, which is established when Ultraman (Tom Welling) flies back to the LutherCorp headquarters,...

Superman: James Gunn Talks Casting [Spoiler] As Jor-El; Details On Cut Non-Family Friendly Joke Revealed
Image
Superman test screenings revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy star Bradley Cooper had been cast as Jor-El, meaning his appearance in the movie didn't come as a huge surprise to many fans.

Filmmaker James Gunn's sweeping changes to Kryptonian lore were a little more shocking. The movie reveals that Kal-El's mother, Lara (Angela Sarafyan), and father sent him to Earth to conquer the planet and continue their race by forming a harem.

Ultimately, Superman decides to embrace his humanity and never hesitates to continue being a force for good.

In an interview with Deadline, Gunn addressed his decision to cast Cooper in a role made famous by Marlon Brando in 1978's Superman: The Movie.

"Well, Bradley’s a friend of mine, and I needed somebody who could play Jor-El — and I don’t think this is a spoiler, everybody knows about this — who had the stature of what we imagine that character being,...

‘Superman’ vs ‘Man of Steel’: The Definitive Comparison of Who Did It Better
Image
James Gunn’s Superman has been released to the world, and the reviews have been great. Although many doubted Gunn’s capabilities for handling such a big IP (including me), the director has proved himself again with his abilities and the will to run the Dcu.

After watching Superman, we couldn’t help but compare Gunn’s take on the classic superhero vs. Zack Snyder’s version in his 2013 film Man of Steel. Well, here’s the definitive comparison about the two Supermans and which of the two directors did it better.

1. David Corenswet vs Henry Cavill: The Better Superman David Corenswet in a still from Superman | Credits: DC Studios

I was one of those people who thought that no one could ever beat Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Superman in Zack Snyder’s Dceu. However, looking at the James Gunn flick, I think that David Corenswet is indeed...

James Gunn Did 1 Job on Superman That Fans Don't Know About (Even Though He Teased It In the Trailers)
Image
As Comic Book Movie junkies, we spend a lot of time combing the backgrounds of scenes in trailers looking for references (or Easter Eggs) to elements that enhance the experience. One caught our eye in an early Superman trailer, because we thought it would tell us a bit about Clark Kent as a person.

In a shot that showed Clark (David Corenswet) in his childhood bedroom, we noticed a poster for the fictional band The Mighty Crab Joys hanging on his wall. That stood out because, during a fighting montage in the debut season of the animated show Creature Commandos, Frankenstein’s monster (David Harbour) wore a t-shirt for this fictional, in-universe band. James Gunn was clearly trying to tell us something.

Credit: DC Studios

And so, during a recent press day for Superman, I surprised Gunn with the question: Who plays the music for The Mighty Crab Joys, a...

‘Superman’: Instant Oscar odds for the James Gunn reboot
Image
You will believe that a man can fly... to the Academy Awards.

After months of pre-release hype, James Gunn's highly anticipated Superman relaunch — which introduces David Corenswet as the Man of Steel — is landing in theaters on July 11. Fan reactions from early screenings have been largely out of this world, while critics' takes range from the enthusiastic to the Kryptonite-tinged. Attention has also been laser-focused on the film's opening weekend box-office prospects as a harbinger for both the future of the DC Comics cinematic universe and superhero cinema in general.

Gunn himself addressed the box-office question in a recent GQ interview, saying: "[People] hear these numbers that the movie’s only going to be successful if it makes $700 million or something and it’s just complete and utter nonsense. It doesn’t need to be as big of a situation as people are saying."

When it comes to the awards race,...

Superman Soundtrack Has Some Fans Convinced That Robert Pattinson's Batman Will Appear - Spoilers
Image
A number of tunes from the official Superman score by John Murphy & David Fleming have been shared online, and Track 7 has left some fans convinced that Robert Pattinson's take on the Dark Knight from Matt Reeves' The Batman will either appear or be teased in some way.

Spoilers follow.

The track does sound somewhat similar to Michael Giacchino's haunting main theme from the movie, but - either fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your hopes for Reeves' BatVerse potentially being folded into the Dcu - the music does not signify anything to do with Pattinson's Caped Crusader.

No version of Batman is mentioned or hinted at in any way during the movie, and once you see it, you should have a better idea of why the notion of Pattinson's take on the character making the jump into this universe simply doesn't make much sense. Indeed, it's almost difficult to...

Superman Review
Image
James Gunn has done it, and done it with aplomb. He’s pulled off the impossible. He’s made Superman feel new, classic, and completely alive all at once, making it the cinematic feat of the summer. With his debut as part of the newly formed DC Studios and its “Gods and Monsters” chapter, Gunn doesn’t just reboot the beloved character—he reinvigorates him, launching the Dcu with heart, humour and heroism, all soaring on a big red cape of hope.

From the very first scene, you can feel that this is something special. The film opens with Superman already established – no origin story rehash here. Instead, we dive straight into Clark Kent’s daily struggle to balance life as the most powerful being on Earth with that of a humble reporter, a caring son, and a hopeful beacon in a world full of cynicism, tense political battles and...

The Batman Fans Think They Uncovered a Hidden Easter Egg In the Superman Score
Image
Fans of Robert Pattinson's The Batman movie think they may have just uncovered a massive Easter Egg in the score for James Gunn's new Superman movie. The film's score has premiered online ahead of its theatrical release on Jul. 11.

The part of Superman's score in question is Track 7, which was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Dcu Superman News and has a darker, more somber vibe perfectly fitting Pattinson's Dark Knight. Superman's score is being handled by John Murphy and David Fleming, but there's easy to hear similarities with Michael Giacchino's The Batman score on Track #7. Because of this, fans have been flooding the comments on X, convinced that this might be a clue that Batman will be appearing in the new Superman flick.

"Man lemme find out all that 'he's not gonna be Dcu Batman' was a false flag," one commentor wrote, referring to Gunn's...

DC Fans Are Convinced The Superman Soundtrack Spoils A Major Cameo
Image
DC Universe fans are convinced that a certain cameo has been spoiled through the Superman movie soundtrack. After the world premiere of David Corenswet's Dcu debut last night, from which the first Superman movie reactions have debuted, the world is closer than ever to finally witnessing James Gunn's highly anticipated film.

During the premiere in Los Angeles for the Superman movie, bits of the soundtrack by John Murphy and David Fleming played, and were posted on social media by @DCUSuperNews. However, one particular clip is currently gaining a lot of attention, with fans theorizing that it is actually foreshadowing a cameo. Listen to it below:

Track 7 pic.twitter.com/CGGoNoIe8g— Dcu Superman News (@DCUSuperNews) July 8, 2025

The track sounds similar to Robert Pattinson's The Batman theme, which had an original score by Michael Giacchino. This has led Dcu fans to speculate that Pattinson's Batman has a secret cameo in the movie.

Danny Boyle’s ‘Sunshine’ 18 Years Later – A Shining Example of Cosmic Horror Done Right
Image
While we often take it for granted during the rushed blur of our daily lives, a single glance up at the sky should make it pretty obvious why primitive cultures once worshipped the sun. That’s why it’s no surprise that our nearest star has been a prominent figure in storytelling all the way from Egyptian mythology up to modern-day Superman flicks.

While the sun is usually seen as a symbol of life and hope, our solar dependency has also inspired several stories about the terror of no longer being able to rely on its warmth. When it comes to movies, there’s a certain underrated Sci-Fi flick that expertly explores this specific kind of cosmic horror while also serving as an entertaining dive into the darker side of space travel. Naturally, I’m referring to Danny Boyle’s 2007 thriller Sunshine, which is currently celebrating its 18th anniversary.

Young Fathers Rewrite the Apocalypse With 28 Years Later Score
Young Fathers at an event for T2 Trainspotting (2017)
Mercury Prize-winning trio Young Fathers have stepped from indie stages to the scoring booth with the release of their 24-track soundtrack for 28 Years Later, Danny Boyle’s long-gestating sequel to his genre-defining 2002 zombie thriller 28 Days Later

. The Scottish group’s brooding mix of choral chants, lo-fi beats and serrated synths marks the first time Boyle has entrusted a full feature score to artists who, as he puts it, had “never done a movie before — a huge risk, but our instinct was to go to new places”.

Boyle’s gamble reflects a wider creative pivot: while John Murphy’s adrenaline-soaked cues helped etch the original film into pop-culture memory, the director says he wanted a sound “fresh and different” to match a world three decades deeper into viral collapse. Young Fathers were already on his radar after their songs powered key moments in T2 Trainspotting and, according to the filmmaker,...

Crafting the ‘28 Years Later’ Soundtrack: How Scottish Band Young Fathers Worked With ‘King of the Needle Drop’ Danny Boyle
Image
Danny Boyle is a director known for his exceptional use of music to score key — and now iconic — scenes in his films. Think Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life” in “Trainspotting” as Ewan McGregor pounded the streets of Edinburgh or the movie’s euphoric closing moments as Underworld’s era-defining track “Born Slippy” played. In fact, think most of the “Trainspotting” soundtrack. Then there was A.R Rahman’s hands-in-the-air anthem “Jai Ho!” from the “Slumdog Millionaire finale, John Murphy’s rousing “Adagio in D Minor” from “Sunshine” (and numerous other subsequent films) and God Speed You Black Emperor’s “East Hastings,” heard as as Cillian Murphy famously wandered the streets of a deserted London at the start of “28 Days Later.”

According to Scottish band Young Fathers, Boyle is the “King of the Needle Drops,” and someone who can throw music — and sometimes not the music you’d expect — into...

James Gunn Spills Secret Method to Find Iconic Music for Guardians of the Galaxy, Superman and More
Image
James Gunn’s reputation as one of the best soundtrack curators in Hollywood is no accident. His films aren’t just remembered for their characters and visuals, they’re remembered for the songs. Whether it’s Peter Quill vibing to Redbone or a perfectly timed Bowie track elevating a scene’s emotion, Gunn’s music choices feel surgically precise.

But what fans may not realize is how much time, energy, and obsession go into curating those playlists. While most directors consider music in the post-production stage, Gunn builds soundtracks into his films from the earliest writing sessions. And now, he’s finally revealed the surprising method behind how he keeps his music picks fresh and inspired.

James Gunn has a music-first approach

In a recent interview on Max’s YouTube channel, James Gunn shared that he is a huge fan of music: “I’m pretty obsessive about music.” He listens to a lot of music,...

Superman's Take On John Williams' Classic Theme Has Been Revealed (And It's Absolutely Epic)
Image
We've heard bits of the new Superman theme in trailers and TV spots for the first DC Studios movie, but a longer version has been revealed at a press event in Manila.

It's essentially just a remix of John Williams' Superman: The Movie theme, albeit with a little electric guitar thrown in for good measure. While some fans have argued that it's a little reductive to reuse this rather than coming up with something new, it's also hard to top a classic.

Like many filmmakers, Superman helmer James Gunn has been inspired by Richard Donner and Christopher Reeve's movies revolving around the beloved superhero, and he's wearing that on his sleeve with this music.

Gunn has previously addressed the decision to implement Williams' theme in Superman, confirming he was always eager to include it in the Dcu's reimagining of the Man of Tomorrow.

"I knew from the beginning what...

28 Years Later Review: A stunning (but not perfect) return for the franchise
Image
Plot: Twenty-eight years after the Rage virus escaped from a medical research laboratory, the United Kingdom has been decimated and completely removed from civilization. Yet, small pockets of humanity have learned to adapt and live among the infected. When a young survivor, Spike (Alfie Williams), journeys to the mainland for the first time, he believes he may have discovered a way to save his mother, who’s been stricken with a mysterious illness. This leads him to leave the safety of his village in a Hail Mary attempt to get her some help.

Review: I recently rewatched 28 Days Later, and it’s not a stretch to say that—even more than George A. Romero’s classic Dead trilogy—it directly led to the amazing resurgence in zombie content we’ve seen over the last two decades. Without 28 Days Later, there’s no way AMC would have greenlit The Walking Dead,...

How ’28 Years Later’ Director Danny Boyle Took a Risk with Sequel’s New Sound [Interview]
Image
Among the many elements that cemented director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland‘s 28 Days Later as a contemporary horror classic was John Murphy‘s unforgettable score, especially standout track “In The House – In A Heartbeat.”

For its sequel, new trilogy-starter 28 Years Later, Danny Boyle wanted to shift gears and give the film its own identity. That meant taking the unexpected route in nearly every way, from storytelling to technique to even the film’s sound.

It’s been nearly three decades since the rage virus first escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and the passage of time has drastically altered life within the quarantine zone.

Boyle tells Bloody Disgusting why he went in a completely new direction for 28 Years Later. “We tried to create a different landscape, really, because I think the idea of the film was that we were doing, although it would have a debt to the first film,...

28 Weeks Later (2007) Review
Image
Sequels are a tricky business. For every Aliens, there’s a Speed 2. So when 28 Weeks Later arrived five years after Danny Boyle’s genre-redefining 28 Days Later, scepticism was understandable. Now, years later, and ahead of the release of the next film in the series, there seems to be more of an appreciation for the second part. One could argue that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s follow-up doesn’t just survive the comparison with the first film, it thrives on it, delivering a film that’s sharper, leaner, and in some ways even more brutal than its predecessor.

From the moment the opening sequence throws us into a rural farmhouse siege, it’s clear Fresnadillo understands what made the first film so potent: urgency. But where 28 Days Later built terror out of silence and isolation, 28 Weeks Later trades in chaos. Robert Carlyle’s Don, caught between a horde of infected and a split-second moral choice,...

‘Slight Course Correction’: James Gunn’s Superman Movie Reportedly Repeated the One Error No Self-Respecting DC Fan Likes in the MCU
Image
James Gunn’s Superman reboot might be flying a little too close to the MCU sun. While fans are hyped to see Clark Kent back in action, some are already side-eyeing what feels like a classic Marvel misstep – overstuffing the universe before the foundation is even solid.

With projects like Creature Commandos and Supergirl already lined up, it’s giving a major Phase 4 vibe. Toss in confusing canon choices, and things feel messy. If Gunn wants DC to soar, he’ll need to avoid Marvel’s biggest flaw, forgetting that less sometimes really is more.

Superman: James Gunn Expected To Deliver Final Cut Next Week; Update On Negative "Sky-Is-Falling" Reports
Image
The next big-screen outing for the Man of Steel was always going to be heavily scrutinized in the build up to its release, and James Gunn's Dcu reboot arrives under the weight of enormous expectations. Gunn himself has admitted that the future of an entire franchise rests on Superman's shoulders, so it's hardly surprising that those involved with bringing the movie to the screen are doing their utmost to deliver a film that appeals to the widest possible audience.

Last-minute changes for any major studio tentpole are normal, but we have heard that some pretty major alterations were made following the most recent test-screening, with up to 25 minutes trimmed from an earlier version of the movie, that was said to "lean heavier on humor." There have also been reports of editor and composer shuffles, and a significant restructure of the plot.

THR has now weighed in to clarify a few things,...

Joe Russo Says James Gunn’s Superman “Delivers” After Early Screening: “James Gunn’s Superman is… super good”
Image
There’s been a lot of noise online lately about James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie. Some people were worried, pointing out changes behind the scenes like shifts in the composer and editor positions. But according to those close to the production, it’s nothing out of the ordinary, and actually, everything seems to be on track.

Director James Gunn has been testing the film, making edits, and fine-tuning it, which insiders say is just part of the normal process. One person familiar with how things work at DC said, “I’m no defender of Gunn, but none of this is unusual. It’s part of honing the movie. Any movie.” Another added, “Gunn absolutely tests, he absolutely tinkers. He’s not one of those directors who can’t take suggestions.”

The movie recently wrapped a quick three-day pickup shoot in Atlanta, not a full reshoot, which is also pretty standard.

Sanatorium (2025) ‘Cph:dox’ Movie Review: Ukraine wellness resort cradles Gar O’Rourke’s resplendently humane doc
John Murphy
A quest of happiness and anchorage belies the visitors checking in at the massive ex-Soviet Kuyalnk wellness resort in Ukraine’s Odesa. While the spectacular brutalist domes will take your breath away, Gar O’Rourke’s Sanatorium foregrounds snippets of stories shared by both the resort’s staff and guests. You’re gently beckoned to witness them over the span of a summer.

O’Rourke’s gaze shimmers with tenderness, affection and utter, magnanimous regard for the motley bunch of characters. Each has their own eccentricities, loneliness, private grief and ache, all coming to find shelter in the resort. As someone remarks late in the film, there are times when we open up to a bunch of strangers things we have long wrestled with and baulked at confiding in those close to us. Sanatorium lets you inhabit intimate spaces of humanity, seeped in a depth of trust. Here are people with...

Image

A colossal ex-Soviet wellness center in Odesa, Ukraine is one of the locations and topics getting the Copenhagen spotlight this year, thanks to Sanatorium, the new observational doc from Irish filmmaker Gar O’Rourke (Kachalka).

It world premieres at Copenhagen on Monday, with additional screenings over the course of the following days.

“Both patients and staff search for health, happiness, and love while the [Russia-started] war echoes through the lime green corridors” of Kuyalnyk Sanatorium, notes a film synopsis. “Every summer, people of all ages arrive in their thousands at a huge ex-Soviet treatment center in Odesa on the southern coast of Ukraine. A time capsule from the ’70s, built in the brutalist style of the era,...

Superman: New Standee For James Gunn's Reboot Is Giving Off Serious Superman: The Movie Vibes
Image
Our next look at Superman should be with us as soon as next month (you can read more about that here) but a new standee has been spotted today at the Bengaluru Comic Con in India.

The 3D effect appears to be a nod to Superman: The Movie as filmmaker James Gunn continues to wear that inspiration on his sleeve with the first DC Studios movie.

Richard Donner's beloved classic has been pivotal in the journeys of many comic book movie writers and directors; it's no secret that it ranks among Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige's favourite movies, for example.

When it comes to Superman, Gunn embracing the 1978 classic's tone for his movie will be welcomed by those who didn't appreciate Zack Snyder's moodier take on the Man of Steel in the Dceu. After all, the "S" on the hero's chest is meant to stand for hope!

After James Gunn's Superman Trailer Used John Williams' Iconic Score, I Hope The 2025 DC Movie Doesn't Forget Another Important Figure In The Man Of Steel's Legacy
Image
James Gunn's Superman trailer included a beautiful tribute to John Williams' iconic theme, but I hope Gunn doesn't ignore another composer who has an important role in Superman's DC legacy. 1978's Superman: The Movie is arguably the birth of the superhero genre. Christopher Reeve's live-action version of Superman made viewers believe a man could fly, and the film is still seen as a landmark of cinematic spectacle. One of the film's most memorable aspects is its excellent score, created by Williams, adding to his legendary discography.

His theme is still synonymous with the hero almost 50 years later. It was reused in 2006's Superman Returns and an essential part of Superman's first trailer. However, it wasn't used in 2013's Man of Steel, as Zack Snyder's films in the Dceu timeline had a different tone than the Richard Donner Superman films. Hans Zimmer composed the score for Man of Steel,...
