Have you ever considered leaving your current life and starting anew in a new city? If so, then Virgin River is the show that you will instantly pick up and hold dear. The show has been going on for 6 faithful seasons, and currently, the show will be returning for a 7th season. Amidst the return, Netflix drops another exciting announcement of how the show has been renewed for an 8th season. Exciting news, right?

The news would have been tantalizing to the ears, but the series has a critical issue with the relationship between Lizzie and Denny, which has been an eyesore for us to watch. Though there are many problems revolving around the two, the fans’ concern about how the show is wasting their potential must be taken care of sooner or later, before advancing further.

Image
Hollywood icon Ryan Gosling is reportedly leading the charge for a new Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Per Jeff Sneider's Hollywood blog The InSneider, Ryan Gosling is leading the production of a new Killer Klowns from Outer Space reboot. The project comes in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, though no further details regarding its development or production are available as of the time of writing.

Directed by Stephen Chiodo who co-wrote the script with brother Charles and co-produced with both Charles and Edward Chiodo, Killer Klowns from Outer Space is by far one of the most beloved horror cult classics. The film takes place in Crescent Cove, a small California town that is besieged by an invading army of clown-like alien horrors. As the monstrous clowns tear their way through town with a variety of circus-themed weapons and artifacts, a group of fearless survivors join forces to protect their...

Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)
Ryan Gosling is bringing back the Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)
We’re thirty-seven years down the line from the release of the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), and even though the film’s creators have been anxious to make a follow-up for decades, we still haven’t gotten one. There’s been talk of a sequel, there’s been talk of an eight episode mini-series, but nothing has happened. But now, it looks like the Killer Klowns’ fortunes may be changing for the better. Industry scooper Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reports that Ryan Gosling has come on board to produce a Killer Klowns from Outer Space remake for Amazon MGM Studios.

The original Killer Klowns from Outer Space was directed by Stephen Chiodo from a screenplay he wrote with his brother Charles Chiodo. Stephen and Charles also produced the film with their other brother, Edward Chiodo. It has the following synopsis: When teenagers Mike...

‘Virgin River’ Showrunner Calls New Cast Gold
Image
‘Virgin River’ is really holding its own against a slew of dramatic new series being released everyday, and if the prequel is going to hold any water, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith believes the casting has to be perfect. Luckily, he found his dream duo in the way of Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr.

‘Virgin River’ Boss On Finding The Perfect Couple To Play Sarah Jensen and Everett Reed

When you meet the right stars, you just know, and Patrick Sean Smith is convinced he’s found the perfect duo that will help the franchise expand into a prequel.

Who did the production find to play Mel’s parents, Sarah Jensen and Everett Reed? Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr, and if we are to believe Smith, they are pure “fire” together.

“It was a search. It was always the plan that this could potentially be a back-door pilot, introducing this new timeline,...

‘Virgin River’ Boss on Pulling Off the “Best Wedding Season in TV” and What’s Next
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from Virgin River season six.]

Did you hear wedding bells? Well, there were a few moments when it seemed like Mel and Jack maybe weren’t going to hear them in season six. Fortunately, the pair, played by Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, made it down the aisle in the end.

However, what’s wedding planning without at least a little bit of drama… or a lot, as seen in Virgin River? While Mel and Jack appeared to be the most stable in the sixth season of the hit Netflix series (now streaming), everyone around them didn’t slack at the drama. There was a love rectangle between Brady, Brie, Mike and Lark; Preacher’s trial; Mel’s father’s past with Vernon; Hope’s meddling and more.

“Sometimes people turn on each other [during a wedding experience], but I’ve always found satisfying opportunity to have Mel and Jack support each other,...

Virgin River Season 6’s Genius Move to Ditch the Books With One Storyline For a Multi-Million Dollar Netflix Deal
Image
Based on Robyn Carr’s book series, the hit show Virgin River just dropped its sixth season on Netflix. Although the series deviated quite a bit from the books throughout its entire course, the difference is highlighted in Season 6. In it, the show veers a little from Mel and Jack’s storyline to give a backstory to her parents.

In the books, her parents are never a big part of the story, hence never being properly introduced. But the show decided to focus on them as new characters, and the results have reportedly been marvelous.

Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for Virgin River Season 6.

The main reason behind that is the show creators’ idea to expand the Virgin River universe given the show’s popularity. And according to reports, they have already signed a deal...

Image
Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Season 6 of Netflix’s Virgin River.

Another Virgin River season ended on a Charmaine-related cliffhanger. She dropped the pregnancy bomb in Season 1 then admitted that Jack was not the father in the Season 4 finale, with Calvin revealed as the dad a year later. Now, Season 6 ended with Jack stopping by to check on her after she didn’t attend his and Mel’s wedding to find her house ransacked and her and the babies possibly missing after she had taken a restraining order against Calvin.

Season 6 followed Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) journey to the altar, with both facing the ghosts from their past before the big day. ‘Virgin River’ Boss on Expanding Franchise With Prequel: ‘We Hit Gold’ With Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr
Image
When “Virgin River” showrunner Patrick Sean Smith chose to expand to the universe with a prequel, he knew the casting had to be right. Luckily, he found Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr to take on the roles of Mel’s parents, Sarah Jensen and Everett Reed.

“It was a search. It was always the plan that this could potentially be a back-door pilot, introducing this new timeline, so we cast with that in mind,” Smith tells Variety ahead of the Season 6 drop, during which Rothe and Kerr make their debut. “We did chemistry reads with them and a couple of other actors who were really incredible. But Jess and Callum had such a spark together, such a fire together that it felt like we had hit gold in casting them.”

The spinoff, he says, will focus “not just the romance of Sarah and Everett, but also the origins of Virgin River in the 1970s.

No Worries, Virgin River Fans, This is Definitely Happening in Season 6
Image
Soap life is good. Virgin River’s sixth season is just around the corner, and fans are going into the season knowing that there will be a seventh season. So that means we can all breathe and turn our attention to Mel and Jack’s upcoming wedding. What we do know is that from everything we’ve seen and read, Mel and Jack are definitely going to tie the knot. No ceremony that spans as long as Charmaine’s pregnancy. They are getting married. Queue our huge breath of relief.

There Will Be Drama Though

Knowing that Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) will make their union official doesn’t mean things will be drama-free leading up to the ceremony. Mel’s long-lost dad, Everett (John Allen Nelson of Santa Barbara), has entered his daughter’s serene Virgin River existence. And as a result, her world gets a bit turbulent.

Chasing Forever in ‘Virgin River’
Image
Not even a rainstorm can dim the glow of Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan’s love story. On a wet, rainy day in June, during one of the final days of filming Season 6, the Virgin River crew assembles off the grid outside Lion’s Bay village in Vancouver, Canada. A winding path leads up to a waterfall tucked away in the lush forest. A pinch of daylight attempts to peek through in between the storms, but the clouds keep winning out. In front of the waterfall, a beautiful meadow is taking shape with delicate springtime flowers. This peaceful meadow is a touchstone to Virgin River’s past because it is where Mel’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) biological father, Everett (John Allen Nelson), brought her mother, Sarah, decades earlier. Mel has brought Jack (Martin Henderson) to this secret place to pick flowers for their upcoming wedding. When Breckenridge and Henderson step onto...

‘Virgin River’ Season 6 Trailer Shows Groom And Mel & Jack’s Wedding Party – But What About The Bride?
Image
Netflix sure is milking Mel & Jack’s upcoming nuptials in its promo campaign for Season 6, set against the backdrop of the couple’s spring wedding season. After the first teaser, which largely recapped the duo’s love story over the first five seasons, ended with a glimpse at the bottom of Mel’s wedding dress, the full trailer released today features footage from the new season but even less of Mel’s gown, with an over-the-shoulder shot as the only peek.

The mystery carries over to the key art, also released today, which provides the best shot so far at the wedding dress, with the long veil, blown by the wind, strategically blocking full view. (See it below)

The trailer does give us a good look at a dapper-looking Jack in a tux — as well as video of Cowboy Jack riding a horse we didn’t know we needed. (Netflix...

Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr cast as Mel's parents in Virgin River season 6 flashback
Image
In the Virgin River season 5 finale, we learned how Mel met her birth father, and in Virgin River season 6, we're going to learn how Mel's mother met her father.

Jumping off of Mel's major paternity discovery last season, the upcoming new episodes will find the bride-to-be getting to know her birth father, Everett (John Allen Nelson), and part of that will be learning his history.

Earlier this year, Netflix announced that a Virgin River prequel series had been placed in development, and the series would center on Mel's mother, Sarah, and Everett.

On Sept. 23, Deadline announced the official castings for Sarah and Everett's prequel counterparts. Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr will make their debuts as Mel's parents in a 1970s flashback in Virgin River season 6.

‘Virgin River’: First Look At Mel’s Parents Played By Jessica Rothe & Callum Kerr As Netflix Mulls Potential Prequel
Image
Exclusive: As Deadline reported exclusively in February, the upcoming sixth season of Netflix’s Virgin River, which focuses on Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) nuptials, will also feature Mel’s late mother Sarah and biological father, Everett, in flashbacks. We can now reveal that Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr have been cast in the roles and offer first-look images of them as Sarah and Everett in Season 6.

The recurring characters are being introduced as Netflix is exploring an expansion of the Virgin River universe with a prequel following Sarah and Everett’s origin story.

Seen in flashbacks mostly set in or around 1972, Sarah (Rothe) is a witty, free spirit from the big city with an ardent passion for activism, and trying to avoid the conventional/traditional life of a young woman in the ’70s. Always up for an adventure,...

I Desperately Don't Want This Virgin River Season 6 Theory To Be True
Image
The popular fan theory involving Everett Reid's connection to Mel and Charmaine may come true in Virgin River season 6. Charmaine may be revealed as Mel's half-sibling, creating a new dynamic in the show that some fans are apprehensive about. With Mel and Jack's impending nuptials, the Charmaine twist might complicate things further than necessary in Virgin River season 6.

The more I learn about Virgin River season 6's plan, the more I fear that a popular fan theory might be true. The Virgin River season 6 theory involves Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson), Mel Monroe's (Alexandra Breckenridge) biological father. The two-part fifth season finale saw Mel and Jack (Martin Henderson) tracking down the former's estranged father a man who, coincidentally, Mel's mother met in the town of Virgin River. After solving Mel's biggest Virgin River mystery, the Netflix series spun up some new drama, with Everett seemingly unwilling to pursue a father-daughter relationship with Mel.

1 Virgin River Season 6 Theory Would Change Everything For Mel
Image
Virgin River season 6 may reveal that Mel has other siblings, potentially complicating her relationships. One of season 6's episodes is titled "Brothers & Sisters," suggesting a major twist regarding Mel's biological father, Everett. Virgin River's showrunner was evasive when asked about Mel having additional siblings.

A new Virgin River season 6 theory pulls from the show's two-episode fifth season finale, setting up an idea that, if true, would completely change everything for Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge). Based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr, Netflix's romantic drama has five seasons under its belt, with Virgin River season 6 poised to premiere in late 2024. The new season will pick up where Virgin River season 5, part 2's ending left off. The Christmas-set two-episode finale saw Mel and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) tracking down Mel's biological father, Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson).

‘Friends’ Co-Creator Reveals NBC Had a Problem With Monica’s Pilot Date
Image
The first episode of Friends had everyone feeling for Monica (Courteney Cox) after her one-night stand went awry — everyone, that is, except a certain NBC executive, according to co-creator David Crane. In that pilot installment, Monica goes on a dinner date with Paul (John Allen Nelson), a.k.a. “Paul the Wine Guy,” who tells her he hasn’t been able to perform — “sexually,” he adds, making Monica do a spit take — ever since his wife walked out on him. Monica ends up sleeping with Paul and only later learns that his story was all a ruse. In a new Friends retrospective for The Sunday Times, Crane says that a network boss tried vetoing that plot and that NBC even surveyed audience members in an effort to prove that point. “The guy who was in charge [an NBC executive] said: ‘We’re not going to like Monica because [in the pilot] she sleeps with a guy on the first date,...

‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ 4K Review – It’s Time to Upgrade This Movie One More Time
Image
Scream Factory has just released Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 4K to celebrate its 35th Anniversary, and what an exciting time to be a fan of the 1980s movie. With the recent surge of Klownapalooza happening in the past few years, including tons of merch made available by Spirit Halloween and the much-anticipated video game scheduled to be released next month, it seems apropos for the Klowns to finally make their 4K debut.

In 1988, the Chiodo Brothers took their seemingly ridiculous premise of having otherworldly monsters in the form of circus clowns land on Earth to wreak havoc on a quiet little town and produced it into a full-length motion picture. Inspired by creature features and B-movies alike, their unconventional film with a deliberately hokey title would garner an initially significant following that evolved into a major cult classic close to four decades later.

‘Virgin River’ Prequel Following Mel’s Parents in Development at Netflix
Image
Netflix is developing a “Virgin River” prequel series.

“Virgin River” follows the lives of the residents of the eponymous Northern California town, including nurse practitioner Mel (Breckenridge), bar owner and veteran Jack (Henderson), town doctor Doc (Matheson), mayor Hope (O’Toole) and many more.

If ordered to series, the prequel would follow Mel’s parents: Sarah Jensen, who died when Mel was young, and Everett Reed (John Allen Nelson), who was revealed as Mel’s biological father in Season 6 finale “Father Christmas.”

“Virgin River” premiered in 2019 and is now in production on its sixth season. The series, which consistently dominates the Netflix Top 10 when new seasons are released, is based on Robyn Carr’s novel series of the same name and was developed for television by Sue Tenney. Best of the Best 2: The Best Movie You Never Saw!
Image
In 1989, the movie Best of the Best had a somewhat abbreviated run in theaters. Only grossing a mere $1.7 million, the movie was a major hit on home video and cable. That’s why, three years later, a sequel, Best of the Best 2, hit theaters… for a while. While the first film has maintained a certain cult status, the sequel, and the two more that followed, have been largely forgotten – until now on this edition of The Best Movie You Never Saw.

Best of the Best 2 came from the same creative team behind the original, including director Robert Radler and producer/ star Phillip Rhee. Intriguingly, it was co-written by a TV actor of the time named John Allen Nelson, who starred on Baywatch for a few seasons, played Paul The Wine Guy on Friends, and has shown up as a guest actor on most of the biggest shows on TV.

Spoilers are ahead for Virgin River season 5, part 2.

Season 6 of Virgin River will explore a "paternal love triangle" between Mel, her biological father Everett, and father figure Doc. On the whole, characters will enjoy happier, healthier lives in the next season, and the show will wrap up some of its darker plots. Virgin River season 6 will employ a time jump to help course correct some issues with the series' timeline.

Fresh on the heels of Virgin River's fifth-season finale, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has teased several season 6 storylines well ahead of the show's filming dates. Virgin River season 5, part 2's ending culminated in a cliffhanger that saw Mel Monroe's (Alexandra Breckenridge) recently discovered biological father, Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson), dropping that he has something important to tell his long-lost child. The Christmas-set finale episodes resolved some threads, including Virgin River's most absurd storyline (i.e. the five-season...

Virgin River Season 6 Theory Suggests Mel's Biological Dad Has A Bigger Family Secret
Image
Spoilers are ahead for Virgin River season 5, part 2.

Given season 5, part 2's cliffhanger ending, Mel's biological dad, Everett, has a family secret to reveal in Virgin River season 6. Viewers theorize that Everett might be connected to another Virgin River character, thus expanding Mel's family further. On the other hand, Everett's revelation could involve a shared genetic condition or information about Mel's mom.

One Virgin River season 6 fan theory suggests that Mel Monroe's (Alexandra Breckenridge) biological dad, Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson), has an even bigger family secret to reveal in the romantic drama's next installment. Thanks to some old love letters, a postal-worker-turned-Santa, and a little Christmas magic, Mel and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) track down Virgin River's Champ (a.k.a. Everett) in season 5's penultimate episode. After Everett lies about his past with Mel's mom, it seems like Mel won't get the relationship she'd hoped for with her biological father.

‘Virgin River’ Boss on Balancing Romance With “Twisty and High Stakes” and Season 6 Plans
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from season five, parts one and two, of Virgin River.]

Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith wanted the newly released holiday episodes of the Netflix series to feel lighter, given the weight of season five.

Following the part one release of 10 intense and emotional episodes (on Sept. 7) — which saw a wildfire hit Virgin River, an illegal drug business showdown, a sexual assault court trial and a difficult miscarriage — Smith knew he wanted the two holiday episodes that are now streaming to have a “feeling of family and warmth.”

Still, the beloved small town couldn’t escape at least some drama this holiday season, including Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) tracking down her biological father, who also lives in Virgin River. And of course, there’s no Virgin River seasonal event — this time, the Christmas tree decorating contest — without some challenges.

But as Smith looks ahead to the already renewed next season, he admits that his “intention was never to have...

Who Is Champ In Virgin River? Mel's Biggest Mystery Is Finally Solved After 4 Years
Image
After four years, the mystery of Mel's father is finally solved in Virgin River season 5, revealing his name to be Everett "Champ" Reid. Actor John Allen Nelson portrays Mel's father, Everett, in the 2-part Virgin River Christmas Special, and viewers may recognize him from other TV shows and movies. Everett is described as charming and funny but also a braggart, and he disappeared from the public eye after the pain of losing his true love.

Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Virgin River Season 5, Part 2

After four years, Netflix's Virgin River has finally solved one of Mel's biggest mysteries – the identity of her father, "Champ." The melodrama follows the residents of Virgin River, California, after a big-city nurse practitioner named Melinda "Mel" Monroe moves to town, hoping to get a fresh start. Virgin River introduces dynamic characters who all impact the storyline; however, the narrative continually returns to Mel.

‘Virgin River’ Showrunner Talks Christmas Special’s Biggest Twists, Teases New Time Jump, Doc’s Prognosis, More Mel & Jack And Wedding(s) In Season 6
Image
Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the Virgin River Christmas special

Netflix’s Virgin River closed out its fifth season with a two-episode Christmas special set during the holidays, more than three months after the “Labor Day” Season 5 Part 1 finale. As suggested by the aptly titled Episode 512, “Father Christmas,” the special’s main storyline follows the bombshell cliffhanger in the Part 1 finale, that Mel’s biological father is likely a man from Virgin River.

With only a couple of clues to his identity in the man’s love letters to Mel and Joey’s mom Sarah to go off of, Mel and Jack launched a search that eventually led them to Everett Reid, who lives in a cabin outside of Virgin River. At first, he wanted nothing to do with Mel but by the end of the two-hour special, in a true holiday spirit, he came around and,...

Halloween Horror Nights Universal Studios 2019 Red Carpet
John Massari, who composed the score for the 1988 cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), has returned to create the music for the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game, which will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. While we wait for a specific release date to be announced, the main theme Massari has composed for the video game, a track called “The Darkkest Karnival” has been released online, and you can listen to it in the embed at the bottom of this article. Our friends at Bloody Disgusting were told, “This blood-pumping track pays homage to the original ‘Klown March’ recorded in 1987, while also adding darker, unexpected modern twists to its structure.”

Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game will feature some of the Chiodos’ sequel ideas
Image
Back in 1988, the Chiodo Brothers brought us the cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) – and pretty much ever since, they have been hoping to get the chance to make a sequel to the film. There’s still no word on a Killer Klowns 2, but sometime in 2023 there will be a Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One… and during a conversation with ComicBook.com, the Chiodos revealed that some of the ideas they had for a sequel have been worked into the game.

Edward Chiodo told the site, “The game is being developed by Teravision with us acting as executive producers and creative advisers. One of our main focus points was making sure that the game captures the right look and unique spirit that the film had which fans feel so emotionally connected to. We...

Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game footage shows faithful recreations of movie locations
Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)
A couple months ago, it was announced that a video game based on the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. A trailer for the game can be seen in the embed above, and now the folks at IGN have shared a video that shows how closely the video game resembles the movie it’s based on. That video can be viewed at the bottom of this article.

When the announcement was made, it was said that the video game maps would be “inventive, but faithful recreations of iconic locations from the Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie.” The video below does a great job of showing just how faithful these location recreations are.

The Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is a multiplayer, asymmetrical (3 vs 7) horror game that pits three Klowns against seven Humans.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space Was A Love Letter To The Chiodo Brothers' Childhoods
Image
It's a balmy summer evening, the stars are out, and something strange just dropped out of the sky and landed in the woods near your hometown. What should you do? Warn the sheriff, knowing he never really listens to punk kids like you anyway? Investigate and poke it with a stick? Or ignore it and carry on making out in the back of your Convertible?

All the above answers are viable and correct if you're a stock character in a B movie horror involving hostile visitors from outer space, who like parking up on the edge of a small town where the hicks are too dumb to realize what is going on until it's almost too late. The premise was a staple of the atomic-era science fiction of the 1950s, and many directors who grew up with fond memories of those movies made their own versions in the 1980s.

It...
