Elizabeth Banks, a well-known actress and director, is the current and longest-running host of the game show, bringing her natural charm and humor to the role.

Press Your Luck has had a new host for every revival of the trivia game show. The show first premiered on September 19, 1983 on CBS and ran for three seasons with Peter Tomarken before it was canceled. The first revival of the show came in 2002, titled Whammy! Monopoly is Bigger Than You Think
Image
Monopoly is just a boring family board game for a rainy afternoon, right? Wrong. Actually, Monopoly is much bigger than you probably expect. The history of the game can be traced back around 100 years, with Lizzie Magie’s The Landlord’s Game being its inspiration. Nowadays Monopoly is nothing short of a juggernaut, with keen players even able to take part in tournaments like the U.S. National Championship and the Monopoly World Championships. Here is how Monopoly became one of the biggest game brands in the world, up there with Game of Life.

Monopoly – a brief history

The Landlord’s Game was self-published in 1906 and paved the way for Monopoly to be developed as a top board game of the era. It took until the 1930s until a game bearing the name Monopoly was released, with Parker Brothers having purchased its copyright, as well as the rights to Magie’s patent.

Daytime Emmy Awards 2012 winners: 'General Hospital' wins big as Anthony Geary takes home record seventh award
The 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out on Saturday, June 23, broadcast live from the Los Angeles Beverly Hilton on Hln. Going into the night, "General Hospital" led the pack with 23 nominations. The casts and producers of canceled series "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" celebrated the shows' final bow at the Daytime Emmys, of which they've been a staple for decades.

Instead of holding the Lead Actor in a Drama award for the end of the ceremony, the show kicked off with a bang by honoring "General Hospital" star Anthony Geary with his record seventh award. Geary made a tongue-in-cheek reference to soaps' struggle to stay on the air in these trying times, joking that "Gh" was nearly canceled for "Celebrity Boob Jobs Gone Wrong." Later, "The Bold and the Beautiful" star Heather Tom became the first actress to ever win in all three actress categories -- Younger,...
