Pardesiya , the first track from the much awaited upcoming film Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jahnvi Kapoor, has kicked off on a high note (pun fully intended). Sung by the legendary Sonu Nigam , marking his comeback into the true-blue Bollywood love song space that he has always been known for, the song has become the most-streamed Hindi film song of the year within 24 hours of its release on Spotify , clocking over 275K streams on Day 1. In just four days, it has crossed 2.5 million streams on the platform and continues to grow rapidly.

The song is charting across platforms— #25 on Spotify Daily Top 200 India, #19 on Apple Music India, #41 on Shazam India, #20 on YouTube’s Global Daily Top Music Videos, and #3 on YouTube India’s Music Trending charts . It has also emerged as the most-streamed romantic Hindi song of the year in its first week, surpassing upbeat party tracks.

In the last few years, whenever I have lost hope in Bollywood and its music, some names have helped me restore my faith in it, Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Basu films clearly top the list. I clearly remember Basu Dada doing all of us a favor by gifting us some brilliant music album by Pritam during the Covid Era with Ludo’s album, and now he is making me accept some more gems with his upcoming film Metro…In Dino.

The first song from the film is out and it is titled Zamaana Lage! While it clearly does not make sense as a title, I have a bitter sweet feeling hearing the track as well! I happy yet sad listening to some of my favorite lines being presented as a fusion and extension and a cover version!

Music lovers were in awe as they attended Sau Saal Pehle 2.0 – Ek Baar Phir Se, Sonu Nigam’s heartfelt tribute to the late legend Mohammed Rafi. Organised by Nr Talent & Event Management, the concert was a fitting tribute to Mohammed Rafi’s enduring legacy, with Sonu Nigam paying homage to his musical father. The audience, comprising many who travelled from across the country, sang along as the Padma Shri recipient rendered close to 50 songs in a 3.5-hour concert at the Grand Theatre, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (Nmacc), without a break.

The lineup included iconic songs from Mohammed Rafi’s timeless repertoire, accompanied by a live orchestra. The audience was visibly moved by Sonu Nigam’s renditions of classics like ‘Tu Kahan Ye Bata’, ‘Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho’, ‘Main Zindagi Ka Saath’, ‘Rang Aur Noor Ki Baraat’, ‘Parda Hai Parda’, ‘Pukarta Chala Hoon Main’, ‘Dard-e-Dil’, ‘Suhaani Raat’, ‘Kya Hua Tera Waada’, among others.

It was a night filled with warmth, music, and lots of love as Namrata Gupta Khan threw a surprise birthday celebration for her husband, the gifted singer Rabbani Mustafa Khan. The party, hosted at Bastian in Bandra, saw friends and fellow artists from the music and entertainment world come together to celebrate not just the man, but the spirit he brings into every room.

Sonu Nigam, Salim Merchant, Shaan, Sunil Grover, Hariharan, Sharib and Toshi Sabri, Rajesh Gawande and many more turned up to raise a toast to Rabbani. But it wasn’t just about big names and selfies, the energy was personal… like a family get-together where the playlist is made of memories. Mumbai, March 3 (Ians) ‘Kanpur ka Tarana’ Vaibhav Gupta has lifted the coveted trophy of the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 14’. The trophy came with a cheque of Rs 25 lakh and a ‘Hot and Techy’ Brezza car.

Vaibhav was one of the six finalists, who included Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury, Ananya Pal, Adya Mishra, Piyush Panwar and Anjana Padmanabhan.

Shubhadeep and Piyush were declared the first and second runners-up, and they went back home with a trophy and a cheque of Rs 5 lakh each. Ananya was the third runner-up, which entitled her to Rs 3 lakh, besides a trophy.

Mumbai, Feb 24 (Ians) Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan walked down the memory lane and recalled the shooting of the track ‘Satrangi Re’ in Ladakh, from the 1998 romantic thriller ‘Dil Se’, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala.

She shared how during the filming of the track she was on a drip, while Srk was wearing thin cotton clothes on the frozen lake.

In the new episode of the celebrity dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, who was though unwell, gave a ‘Paso Doble’ performance to the mesmerising tune of ‘Satrangi Re’, along with choreographer Anuradha Iyengar.

Farah, who originally choreographed the song, reminisced about the shooting of this song, saying that like Shoaib, she too wasn’t well at that time.
