Fans of Sailor Moon are well aware that the show has a large host of great characters. Whether fans love the Inner Senshi, fall in love with the Outer Scouts, or just live for the cute mother-daughter moments between Usagi and Chibiusa, almost every viewer has a favorite character. Fans of the show can't help but want to learn more and more about these heroic girls, especially since information can be so spread out.
While there are tons of companion material, hunting down stats about the Scouts can be a bit of a hassle. Just who is the tallest Scout, and when are they all born? The following contains spoilers for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos: The Movie, now streaming on Netflix.
Originally created by Naoko Takeuchi as Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon in 1991, the popular manga series was published monthly in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine until its conclusion in 1997. Apart from being translated into multiple languages across the globe, the Sailor Moon manga also saw two anime adaptations, one live-action TV drama, and multiple stage productions in Japan. Despite its worldwide success, Sailor Moon has also seen its fair share of controversy between the '90s and 2000's for its inclusion of queer relationships and gender-fluid characters like Sailor Uranus and the Sailor Starlights.
While countries outside of Japan infamously censored Sailor Moon's queer characters in their localizations, only the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars anime (the most queer-heavy season that adapts the manga's final Stars storyline) was never brought to the US until two decades after its release in Japan.

The leaves are withering, the air is turning crisp, and film festival season is well underway — which means even more foreign-language movies to receive raves on the fall awards circuit before getting promptly buried on a streamer. But don't let that happen to "Athena," a staggering French drama that is in danger of falling into the Netflix abyss, crowded out by your "Gray Men" or "Kissing Booth's." Or check out one of last year's forgotten festival darlings in Céline Sciamma's "Petite Maman." And because spooky season is now here, we have a horror anime classic making their streaming debuts, alongside a cyberpunk anime classic. Plus, "Little Women," but make it crime?
Let's fire up those subtitles and get streaming.

Diving headfirst into Kon Month, I’ll be starting off with Satoshi Kon’s very own directorial debut, Perfect Blue. An adaptation loosely based off a book of the same name written by Yoshikazu Takeuchi, Perfect Blue originally hit theaters in 1997 and was greatly received by many around the world, not just anime fans.
To this day, Perfect Blue has strong holding in the anime industry. Many people consider this movie to be Kon’s magnum opus among his many great films. I personally had not seen it and was skeptical of their opinions; even as I began watching the film I was skeptical of its greatness. However, by the end my opinion was greatly changed,...
