    • Trivia
Norman led a campaign in the late 1990s by the Writers Guild to call the then current practice of film directors taking the main credit for a film by listing their name in the credits above the film's title, as "A Film By...", a "Vanity credit.".
    • Quotes
[on Dalton Trumbo's return to Hollywood in 1953]: This was where he belonged, not some foreign evasion - this was where the blacklist would be fought. Trumbo thought the blacklist vile - the slightest thought of it infuriated him. Sometime around this date, maybe soon after - he never remembered - Trumbo decided to move back to town and take it on. He'd bring the blacklist to its knees somehow, grind it to dust, put and end to it for good, and all by himself, if that's what it took.
