Aubrey Plaza's Underrated Slasher Movie Remake Gets Free Streaming Home
Image
In 2019, Agatha All Along's Aubrey Plaza led the cast of Child's Play, a modern remake of the iconic horror film from 1988. While the remake didn't end up getting any sequels of its own, it's not without its charm, and anyone who has yet to check it out can do so by streaming it for free in the month of December.

Child's Play is set to start streaming on Tubi on Dec. 1. This comes more than five years after the film debuted in theaters in June 2019. The film was a box office success, earning nearly $45 million against a budget of $10 million. Reviews were a bit on the mixed side, resulting in a Rotten Tomatoes approval rating of 64%. Some of the negativity could be due in part to the controversy surrounding the film, as many horror fans refused to give the remake a chance out of a showing of loyalty to original Child's Play writer Don Mancini,...

Chad McQueen, The Karate Kid Star, Dies at 63
Image
Chad McQueen, perhaps best known for his role as Dutch in The Karate Kid and one of its sequels, has passed away. He was 63 years old.

Per TMZ, McQueen died on Wednesday at his ranch home in Palm Desert, California. His passing was confirmed by his attorney, Arthur Barens, who was present with McQueen's life partner and his children when the actor passed. According to Barens, McQueen's death was attributed to progressive organ failure that followed an unspecified injury a few years prior.

Chadwick Steven McQueen was the only son of late actor Steve McQueen, who died in 1980 at the age of 50. At the time, the younger McQueen was nine years old. Like his father, McQueen took an interest in racing at an early age and was netting big wins by the time he was 10. He won if class at the World Mini Grand Prix at 12 years old. George Clooney’s Dreadful Directorial Run on Rotten Tomatoes Continues, The Boys in the Boat Sinks With Critics
Image
Critics are not impressed with George Clooney's sports drama, The Boys in the Boat, calling it forgettable and empty. It's been 12 years since one of Clooney's directorial efforts has registered a "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the negative reviews, there are still some critics who appreciate the warmth and overall effectiveness of the film.

The Boys in the Boat capsizes with critics, which accentuates his 12-year losing streak. A-list Hollywood actor, George Clooney, has taken his fair share of turns in the director’s chair over the years, but Clooney hasn’t had one of his films register a “fresh” rating on the Tomatometer since 2011. And The Boys in the Boat’s early reviews aren’t going to right that ship any time soon. At the time of this writing, the film holds a 44% rating against 32 reviews. Barry Hertz of Globe and Mail writes in his critique:...

Whatever Happened To The Cast Of The Original Child's Play?
Image
Unleashed on theaters in 1988, director Tom Holland's "Child's Play" introduced America to Chucky, a My Buddy-like doll inhabited by the soul of a foul-mouthed serial killer. Equal parts absurd and frightening, that first movie spawned six sequels, a remake, and a TV series. Of all the iconic '80s horror villains, he's the only one still written by his original creator, Don Mancini. As such, the TV series has brought back many actors and characters from throughout the franchise's history, in an increasingly complicated -- and refreshingly LGBTQ-positive -- narrative of epic proportions. A narrative that involves Devon Sawa playing multiple roles, for some reason.

Fans of the show know where some of the original film's cast members ended up, but what about the rest? Shot in Chicago, "Child's Play" made use of several local stage talents, as well as a few veteran actors and familiar faces. Can you...

Child’s Play star Chris Sarandon would be willing to return for a rematch with Chucky
Image
Chucky the killer doll has come back a whole lot of times since we first saw him in the 1988 classic Child’s Play. He has starred in several big screen sequels, a couple direct-to-video sequels, and now he’s three seasons deep into a TV series that runs on both Syfy and USA Network (as well as the Peacock streaming service). As he has made his way through the decades, many of his co-stars have also returned to share the screen with him again and again. But among those who haven’t returned is Chris Sarandon, who played Detective Mike Norris in the original film. During an interview conducted by People to mark the thirty-fifth anniversary of the original Child’s Play, Sarandon revealed that he would be willing to come back for another Chucky project… even though he turned down the chance to appear in Child’s Play 2.

Chris Sarandon is Willing to Reprise His Role in the Child's Play Franchise
Image
Chris Sarandon would consider reprising his role as Detective Mike Norris in Child's Play, but believes that Norris is currently retired. Sarandon was hooked after reading the screenplay for Fright Night, and that collaboration led to him teaming up again with director Tom Holland on Child's Play. Despite not appearing in any of the sequels, remakes, or the streaming series Chucky, Sarandon remains an active member of the horror movie community via film fests and conventions.

Chris Sarandon portrayed one of the most beguiling vampires any horror film can offer scary movie fans. After Sarandon’s stint as the suave yet ever-so dangerous, apple-eating creature of the night, Jerry Dandrige, in Tom Holland’s Fright Night, the two creatives reunited three years later to collaborate on yet another enduring classic from the genre, Child’s Play (1988). Sarandon played the part of Detective Mike Norris and matched wits with the pint-sized Chucky (Brad Dourif) during his bloody,...

‘Child’s Play’ – Celebrating 35 Years of Chucky and the Power of Damballa
Image
Thirty-five years, seven feature films, and three seasons deep into an ongoing television series haven’t diminished Chucky’s bloodlust in the slightest. That’s no easy feat, even in a genre largely driven by surviving impossible odds and obstacles. With each new entry, Chucky somehow manages to grow even more maniacal and devious, adapting to bizarre new twists that a prolonged voodoo curse throws his way. Of course, that voodoo curse started it all 35 years ago today, when Child’s Play stabbed its way into theaters on November 9, 1988.

While Chucky’s journey continues to surprise through new revelations, characters, and sharp narrative turns, it’s anchored by the killer’s unrelenting pursuit of vengeance and his voodoo origins. That voodoo curse also allows for one of the most notable deaths in the series for its almost meta-levels of doll-on-doll violence.

Director Tom Holland (Fright Night) and screenwriter John Lafia updated Don Mancini’s script,...

The Nightmare Before Christmas Voice Cast & Character Guide
Image
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a beloved animated movie praised for its animation style, characters, songs, and music. The voice cast includes well-known actors like Chris Sarandon, Catherine O'Hara, and William Hickey. Jack Skellington is voiced by Chris Sarandon, while Sally is voiced by Catherine O'Hara, who also provides her singing voice. William Hickey voices Doctor Finkelstein, and Ken Page voices Oogie Boogie.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is regarded as one of the greatest animated movies of all time, but what do the actors that voice the characters look like? In 1993, director Henry Selick brought The Nightmare Before Christmas, a dark fantasy stop-motion musical from the mind of Tim Burton. The charmingly creepy movie tells the tale of a ghoul named Jack Skellington, Halloween Town’s “Pumpkin King” who has grown tired of his town's titular holiday and so attempts to hijack Christmas with disastrous consequences.

‘Child’s Play: A Visual Memoir’ Review – Tom Holland Celebrates 35 Years of a Horror Classic in New Book
Image
Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, Child’s Play is one of the precious few mainstream horror franchises to maintain its original continuity, even overcoming a remake and making the leap to television. A lot of credit is due to Don Mancini, who wrote the original script and has continued to shepherd the series ever since, but there would be no franchise if the first installment wasn’t successful. In that regard, master of horror Tom Holland deserves endless recognition for his direction as well as work on the script.

Child’s Play: A Visual Memoir by Tom Holland is, as its title suggests, a look back at the production through the filmmaker’s eyes. The 152-page hardcover book collects close to 150 behind-the-scenes photos — many of which are previously unreleased — accompanied by Holland’s running commentary plus his original treatment for the film. Presented in black and white, the images are...

Best Chuck Norris Films – the best of the bearded one
Image
Starting his career in an uncredited role in as a henchman in the Dean Martin/ Matt Helm movie The Wrecking Crew, Chuck Norris really burst onto the scene fighting Bruce Lee in a Roman Coliseum in The Way of the Dragon. Since then, Chuck Norris has had a career filled with action scenes, loud guns, and roundhouse kicks. He was a mainstay of 1980s action films and was even brought in as a sort of savior for the others in The Expendables 2. While he’s mostly retired now, everyone still knows who he is, and Chuck Norris jokes have honored him for years. After a solid deep dive of the man’s movies, here are what we consider the best Chuck Norris movies:

The Octagon (1980)

Starting off a decade of plenty for Mr. Norris, The Octagon is one of those films that feels very much like he owns it.

10 Best Brian Tyree Henry Movies, According To Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Brian Tyree Henry may be best known for his role as Paper Boi in the recently concluded Atlanta, but he's recently earned a lot of acclaim on the film festival circuit for his role in Causeway opposite Jennifer Lawrence. Though the movie was filmed for Apple in 2019, it just started making the rounds in late 2022. Outside of Causeway, most of Henry's best-known projects have only been released since 2018, including his voice work in the animated series Big Mouth and HouseBroken, currently airing.

Many of Henry's movies are certified “fresh” through review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. Henry’s best critically reviewed movies all land at over 60 on the site, and there will surely be more highly rated projects from him in the future as he will be reprising his roles in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and Godzilla and Kong.

Child’s Play vs Child’s Play 2: Face-Off
Don Mancini at an event for Seed of Chucky (2004)
Over 30 years ago, horror fans were introduced to cinema’s most infamous, beloved, and fun-sized slasher – Chucky. While he has had quite the success on the silver screen and small screen, we’re going all the way back to where it started. Don Mancini’s original terrifying Child’s Play, directed by Tom Holland (no relation to the friendly neighborhood one), paved the way for the killer Chucky doll to become the formidable horror icon that he is today. Child’s Play 2 (directed by John Lafia with a screenplay by Don Mancini) ups the kill count, wisecracks, and special effects even if the terror takes more of a back seat this time around. But which Chuck is the one that you don’t f**k with? Only one way to find out: Face Off!

Child’s Play Reboot Sequel Reportedly Moving Forward
Child's Play (2019)
Last summer, Chucky returned to theaters in a completely different form for the Child’s Play reboot. Instead of a serial killer possessing a toy, the new version depicted him as a doll with defective artificial intelligence that went on a killing spree. It was warmly received, but only had a limited impact at the box office due to coming out the same weekend as Disney’s Toy Story 4. Fans have wondered whether a sequel is on the way from Orion, then, with no official news occurring since its release.

We Got This Covered has now heard, though, that a follow-up to the reboot is in the works. Our sources – the same ones that previously told us a Scream reboot was in development and that National Treasure 3 is happening at Disney, both of which have since been confirmed – have informed us that Child’s Play 2 is definitely moving forward at the studio.

Why Child's Play Is the Perfect Horror Movie Remake
Tom Holland
The Child's Play remake has finally arrived and is now playing in theaters, setting the stage for what all horror movie remakes should strive to accomplish. It's directly inspired by director Tom Holland and writer Don Mancini's original movie from 1988, starring Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. That slasher classic tells the story of a young, single mother gifting her son with a trendy doll, unaware of its homicidal nature. What makes the new Child's Play work as well as it does is that it keeps the heart of this story the same, but tells a new version of it in a drastically different way. This makes it so the movie checks all the boxes on being a faithful homage while still offering a completely fresh take on the material to make seeing the remake an all-new experience.

Let's be clear. If the exact same course of events...

Child's Play Remake Surprises with Fresh Rotten Tomatoes Score
Rag & Bone “Men’s Project”
Movie critics seem to be embracing Mark Hamill's Chucky with open arms, as the early reviews for Child's Play Remake have earned the reboot a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As of this writing, the movie is currently sitting at 63% fresh, which is slightly lower than the 67% score of the original. For movie-lovers, the word "reboot" always feels like a dirty term, as new takes on classic pictures can sometimes bring about disastrous results. For what it's worth, Child's Play is clearly performing far better than similar slasher reboots from the past, especially compared to A Nightmare on Elm Street's 15% and Friday the 13th's 25% rotten ratings.

The new Child's Play has many similarities to director Tom Holland's original movie from 1988. Notably, it will follow a young boy named Andy receiving what appears to be a friendly doll as a special gift, only to learn that it's sentient and has evil intentions.

“Child’s Play” Remakes Chucky For The Digital Age
There’s an internal struggle going on within the remake of Child’s Play. No, this isn’t existential crisis or indie bent to the horror classic, but a war of tone. Yes, in rebooting Chucky, the filmmakers have mixed a traditional fright flick with a very strange, almost comedic, take on the material. It doesn’t really work, but when it’s being weird, it’s actually a fair amount of fun. Had that offbeat tone been stuck to, this would have been a real pleasant surprise, though sadly it becomes less and less of a factor as the movie wears on. It’s ultimately second rate horror, even if it’s not the disaster it was shaping up to be, just going by the marketing. The film is a modern day update of the original 1988 horror outing Child’s Play. Here, instead of a doll being possessed by...

Aubrey Plaza Went as Chucky from the Child's Play Remake at MTV Movie Awards
Aubrey Plaza
It was just yesterday that we shared Parks and Recreation and Legion star Aubrey Plaza's wild "audition" for Catwoman in Matt Reeve's upcoming The Batman by licking Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. And today we already have yet another fun Aubrey Plaza story for you guys to check out. As many of you know, MTV hosted the MTV Movie and TV Awards recently, and today someone pointed out that during the ceremony, Plaza slapped on a Chucky mask from her upcoming remake of Child's Play Remake. And no one else - including David Spade and Dan Levy - seemed to notice.

Now I'm not going to sit here today and start naming names, but someone I know very well says that she's not a fan of Aubrey Plaza as new Karen Barclay in the upcoming Child's Play remake. This unnamed girl I know says Plaza doesn't look old enough to be a mother.

Watch Aubrey Plaza Audition for Catwoman in The Batman by Licking Stephen Colbert
Aubrey Plaza
Parks and Rec star Aubrey Plaza is down for playing Catwoman in The Batman, and even went so far as to "audition" for Stephen Colbert. On The Late Show, Plaza appeared as a guest to promote Child's Play, but it wasn't long before the discussion turned to Catwoman.

During the interview, Colbert notes how Aubrey Plaza has expressed her interest in playing Selina Kyle in a movie in other interviews, then mentioning how The Batman just might be looking to cast that character. While Plaza says there's "no way in hell" they would ever cast her for the part, Colbert insists the actress wear cat ears and audition for it anyway. She obliges, but it's not so much a genuine audition for Catwoman as it is Plaza behaving like an actual cat; she bats a cat toy, drinks from a water dish, and even crawls on Colbert's desk to lick his cheek.

Chucky Roasts Rex & Dices Mr. Potato Head in Latest Child's Play Posters
Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Christina Hendricks, Keegan-Michael Key, Ally Maki, and Jordan Peele in Toy Story 4 (2019)
Playtime is over for the toys from Toy Story 4, as Child's Play doll Chucky has been killing them off one by one in a series of hilariously dark promotional posters. Next up on the chopping block is Mr. Potato Head, shown on an all-new poster for the movie with a bloody knife implanted in his plastic head. While we can't see his customizable face, the trademark hat on his head is clearly a dead giveaway. Another new foreign poster shows the aftermath of Chucky barbecuing poor Rex, leaving behind a charred dinosaur skeleton. With the official release date still a week away, Chucky may continue his rampage in even more of these bizarre posters, so the toy massacre may not be over just yet.

Previously, several prominent characters from Toy Story 4 have already been butchered by Chucky. This includes zapping Buzz Lightyear to death with a ray gun,...

Chucky Zaps Buzz Lightyear in Latest Child's Play Poster Targeting Toy Story 4
Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Christina Hendricks, Keegan-Michael Key, Ally Maki, and Jordan Peele in Toy Story 4 (2019)
Chucky is continuing his attack against the toys from Toy Story 4 once again in an all-new Child's Play poster, which hints at the destruction of Buzz Lightyear. The shot is clearly poking fun at the shared release date between the two movies, which will both premiere this month on June 21. Previously, Chucky has seemingly killed Woody and Slinky Dog in other posters, which were humorous in their own macabre way. As there's still some time to go before the movies hit the big screen, Chucky may continue the murders in other teaser posters, meaning the Toy Story 4 toys need to start watching their little plastic backs.

There's a lot of hype going into the Child's Play Remake ahead of its release. Recently, a new sneak peek clip was released highlighting new voice actor Mark Hamill as Chucky. Because it's reminiscent of the original voice from Brad Dourif, it serves as an effective homage,...

Rag & Bone “Men’s Project”
Chucky Plays a Deadly Game of Peekaboo in First Child's Play Clip
Rag & Bone “Men’s Project”
A new sneak peek of this month's Child's Play Remake has been released, showcasing Chucky tormenting his new pal Andy. In the clip, Andy has clearly discovered Chucky's homicidal nature by this point, and is hunting for the doll with a bat. Taking advantage of technology and wifi, Chucky mocks Andy with various electronics before taunting him with video footage taken of his mother. Notably, the clip features plenty of Chucky's voice from new voice actor Mark Hamill, giving us our best idea yet as to how exactly he will sound in the new movie.

Mark Hamill has some pretty big shoes to fill taking over the role of Chucky from Brad Dourif. As horror fans know, Dourif has provided the voice of Chucky in every previous installment of the series, starting with the 1988 original. One of the biggest complaints fans had about the reboot is that it would omit Dourif as Chucky's voice,...

Child's Play Remake FX Artist Explains New Chucky's Different Look
The Child's Play Remake has a new Chucky that looks quite a bit different from the killer doll we knew from past installments of the series, and FX artist Todd Masters has provided some insight on the new doll's design. After spending decades in the field, Masters is one of the most talented FX artists of the horror genre.

His company MastersFX was tasked with creating the new killer doll in Orion's new Child's Play movie releasing this month, and various teasers have given fans a good look at the updated Chucky. While there are certainly some similarities, there are many key differences in the doll's design, but according to Masters in a new interview, there's sound reasoning behind the new appearance.

"That kind of got me interested in it in a different way. It wasn't like we were trying to take the original design and soften here and...

Chucky Arrives In Three New Child’s Play Photos
We’re now less than three weeks away from Chucky’s playtime, and to celebrate, we’e got three new images teasing the return of the killer doll in the upcoming Child’s Play remake. The marketing for the horror reboot has deliberately held back on showing us too much of Chucky in action, and these photos follow suit by only featuring the murderous piece of merchandise in his packaging and from behind.

Seen in the gallery down below, the first image captures the moment when Karen Barclay (Aubrey Plaza) presents the brand new Buddi doll to her son, Andy (Gabriel Bateman). We’ve been told that Andy, a shy kid who struggles to make friends, will form a close bond with Chucky at first, as can be seen in the second snap which sees the boy smiling at his new best friend. Finally, the last pic showcases Andy meeting...

New Child’s Play Featurette Offers Lots Of Fresh Footage
Child’s Play is now just three weeks away from hitting theaters and Orion Pictures has released a new featurette for the upcoming horror remake that offers up a lot more footage we haven’t seen before. The two-minute promo also contains the three leads of the movie – not including Mark Hamill, who lent his voice to killer doll Chucky – discussing the process of making the film.

First up, Aubrey Plaza revealed why she wanted to be part of the project, explaining that it was all to do with the character of Karen Barclay. “I’m really excited about playing the role of Karen,” the Legion actress says in the video. “The idea of playing a young single mom was really appealing to me.”

Gabriel Bateman portrays Karen’s son, Andy, who’s gifted the unfortunately homicidal toy. In the clip, he opens up about how a shy, lonely kid...

Chucky’s Looking For His New Best Buddy In Creepy Child’s Play TV Spot
We’re now just five weeks away from the new Child’s Play arriving in cinemas, and the first two trailers for the reboot have teased a very different version of Chucky, with the killer toy now a corrupted smart doll instead of being possessed by a serial killer’s spirit, as in the original. But the end goal is the same: Chucky’s going to make the life of his young owner Andy hell.

We get a better taste for that in this new TV spot, which reveals that Child’s Play officially sports an R-rating. We were pretty confident this was going to be the case, but it’s good to know the remake won’t skimp on the horror. And we definitely get a glimpse of that in this teaser. True, the doll seems innocent enough at first, calling Andy his “new best buddy” upon being unwrapped.

New Child’s Play Promo Teases Mark Hamill’s Chucky Laugh Again
This year is shaping up to be a real treat for longtime horror fans. Aside from It: Chapter Two – whose debut trailer is set to premiere tomorrow – Orion Pictures and United Artists Releasing are teaming up to distribute Child’s Play, a remake and reboot of the 1988 film of the same name.

Directed by Lars Klevberg and produced by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, this latest entry in the long-running series will not see any involvement from creator Don Mancini. More importantly, Brad Dourif, who’s voiced Chucky – the franchise’s murderous serial killer doll – in every installment, is not returning.

Chucky Murders A Toy Story Character On New Child’s Play Poster
The marketing for the upcoming Child’s Play reboot has demonstrated a deliciously dark, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor with multiple posters giving a Chucky-themed flavor to various holidays like Christmas, Easter and even 4/20. The best joke the movie’s team came up with, though, is actually its release date.

The remake is arriving on June 21st, the same day as Toy Story 4, a very different take on the concept of toys coming to life. And now, the latest poster for Child’s Play has decided to have some fun with the competition between the two films, deciding who would come out on top between Chucky and Woody in a fight.

Sure, the Pixar film is likely going to win the box office battle, but the poor cowboy toy wouldn’t make it to Toy Story 5 if he encountered the pint-sized killer in person. Don’t believe us? Just check out the disturbing poster below,...

Child’s Play Remake Producer Promises Intensity And Lots Of Gore
This summer’s Child’s Play remake will shake-up the character of Chucky in some major ways as he’s no longer a serial killer’s spirit inhabiting a toy doll but an artificial intelligence gone bad. This is just the start of the differences between the new movie and the original franchise though, according to producer Seth Grahame-Smith. In particular, fans can expect lots of R-rated intense gore, as well as a more human story in place of the black humor of the past few films.

Grahame-Smith spoke to CinemaBlend recently and lined up the ways in which the remake is its own beast, teasing that the killer doll is “driven by something different” than the old version.

“We sort of lean into more of the AI/Kaslan story and hint at a Chucky that is driven by something different than he is in the original series, when he...

Chucky Murders The Easter Bunny On New Child’s Play Poster
The Child’s Play marketing team have definitely had some fun serving up seasonal posters for this June’s horror reboot over the past few months. Chucky starred in some chilling Christmas cards last December, and just yesterday he celebrated 4/20! Now, continuing on with the tradition, the killer doll has a grisly encounter with the Easter Bunny on the promo art seen down below.

The creepy image features the tyrannical toy towering over the unseen chocolate-giving rabbit, with a smear of blood and smashed Easter eggs behind him. This style of poster – the obscured Chucky part, not the bunny-killing part – is typical of the promotion for Child’s Play, as we didn’t get a proper look at this new take on the iconic slasher villain for the longest time. In fact, it was only last week’s second trailer that unveiled him in the flesh plastic.

Now, the tactic...

Second Child’s Play Trailer Teases Chucky’s Reign Of Terror
“Let me tell ya ’bout my best friend…”

The first trailer for the Child’s Play reboot that arrived back in February turned a lot of folks’ minds about the production, as the teaser promised an effective remake of the original cult favorite horror. Following that, the hype was multiplied tenfold when Mark Hamill was announced to be voicing Chucky in the movie. Now, this second preview gives us a better look at what we can expect when we unwrap the full present this summer.

What marks this remake as a different beast from the first movie is that the killer doll isn’t possessed by the spirit of a serial killer this time around but is instead a super-smart toy – a Buddi doll – imbued with artificial intelligence that goes haywire. A previous promo introduced us to Tim Matheson’s Henry Kaslan, the CEO of the corporation that creates the must-have toy.

Chucky Brings the Big Knife in New Child's Play Teaser and Poster
The full Child's Play Remake trailer is set to launch tomorrow, but IGN has released an exclusive new poster and teaser video to hold us over today. On the new poster, someone can be seen sleeping on a bed, with Chucky's hand clenching a kitchen knife in the foreground. It's reminiscent of classic '80s slasher movies, which is the feeling the new movie seems to be going for. Regardless of how the movie turns out, we should all be able to agree that the promotional materials released for the movie have all been pretty killer.

What we've seen from the new movie so far has been a bit limited. A previous trailer ran only a minute long and didn't show much of the actual Chucky. However, it did set a dark tone for what to expect from the movie, and wasn't without its creepy moments. This includes seeing Aubrey Plaza...

First Full Look At Chucky From The New Child’s Play Revealed
Just over two months out from the release of Lars Klevberg’s Child’s Play, we now have our first full body look at the new Chucky, who’ll be voiced by none other than Star Wars legend Mark Hamill.

As you can see, the latest design isn’t a radical departure from the original Brad Dourif version, though the cold, red eyes seem to reflect the more tech-oriented origins of this new take on the killer doll. On the front of his overalls, meanwhile, reads the word “Buddi” – the name of the company that manufactured this pint-sized murderer.

Child’s Play Star Mark Hamill Forgot That He Already Voiced Chucky
If there was one way to make fans warm up to the upcoming Child’s Play remake, it was to hire Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky. June’s reimagining of the classic 90s slasher has received a mixed reaction from those loyal to the original but it’s fair to say that most were bowled over when the news that the Star Wars actor is set to portray the killer doll came out at Wonder Con over the weekend.

It was quickly discovered that Hamill was the perfect choice as he actually voiced Chucky before, in the comedy web series Robot Chicken. A clip of Hamill’s first take on Chucky went viral shortly after the announcement, with fans thinking of it as a sneak preview of what the actor will do with the character in the movie. Hamill took to Twitter in response to the story though...

Child's Play Remake Reveals Mark Hamill's Chucky Laugh
This summer MGM and Polaroid director Lars Klevberg will unleash their new version of Chucky voiced by Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill, in their Child's Play Remake. Hamill's co-stars are set to include Aubrey Plaza as Karen Barclay, Andy's mother, Gabriel Bateman as Andy Barclay, Karen's 13-year-old son, Brian Tyree Henry as Detective Mike Norris, and Tim Matheson as the founder and CEO of the company that manufactures the Buddi doll. And today we have a quick video that gives us a look at just what the hell Mark Hamill will sound like as Chucky. Well, at least the little guy's laugh. You can check it out below.

Mark Hamill to be the voice of Chucky in ‘Child’s Play’ reboot
Some inspired casting has developed over the weekend for the upcoming ‘Child’s Play’ reboot. Mark Hamill has jumped on board to be the voice of Chucky.

The movie follows a mother (Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature. Brian Tyree Henry, Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio and Carlease Burke also star in the remake which switches out the supernatural element (a possessed doll) of the original for one of a malfunctioning killer robot doll.

The announcement was made at WonderCon, Hamill later took to Twitter with his own message for his legion of followers.

"People let me tell you 'bout my best friend…"

Child's Play Remake Is Getting an A-List Actor to Voice Chucky?
Now that we have seen a teaser trailer and a series of posters for Orion Pictures and Polaroid director Lars Klevberg's upcoming Child's Play Remake, I think most of us have moved on to wondering about Chucky's voice. We know that Brad Dourif will not be returning to this remake, but we don't know who will take his place either. Until today that is. What I mean is we now have word (a rumor) that Orion is looking to cast an "A-list celebrity" to provide the vocal cords of the new killer doll. The remake has been getting a few test screenings here and there over the past few weeks, and now the details of the test screenings are starting to leak out over on YouTube. Can they be believed? Shrugs. Let's just pass on what's being said and see what comes out in the wash.

Aubrey Plaza Calls Child's Play Remake a Spielberg-Style Horror Throwback
Aubrey Plaza
This past weekend, the Academy Awards went without a host. But thanks to comedian/actress Aubrey Plaza, the Spirit Awards didn't. We told you guys a bit about her hosting gig earlier this week, but now we have a fun update on another project Plaza is working on from an interview she conducted on the Spirit Awards hosting gig. Eventually, the conversation turned to MGM and director Lars Klevberg's upcoming Child's Play Remake and here's what an enthusiastic Plaza had to say on the matter.

"Buckle up. I love it so much. To me, the original is an iconic movie. I haven't seen our film, just the trailer, but it's a real throwback horror movie. It's almost got a Spielbergian vibe to it. The reason I did it was for how beautiful the script was. It doesn't feel like a hokey, shticky, campy movie. If you remember the original Child's Play,...

Jennifer Tilly’s Not Impressed With The Child’s Play Remake
The upcoming Child’s Play reboot has been the subject of heavy backlash ever since it first announced, with much of the hostility stemming from the fact that franchise creator Don Mancini already had plans to continue in the original continuity of the series with an upcoming TV show.

Mancini himself has already made his objections to the new Child’s Play very clear via social media, and in the wake of the first trailer dropping, actress Jennifer Tilly has taken the opportunity to share her own less-than-ecstatic response. Taking to Twitter, the star posted a photo of herself alongside her murderous alter ego Tiffany Valentine, captioning the image with a blunt dismissal of Lars Klevberg’s reboot:

“New ‘Chucky’ movie? Ummm…no. Tiffany and I are gonna sit this one out. #NotmyChucky”

Based on the comments received by Tilly’s tweet, it looks like a lot of fans are thinking the same thing.
