Image
Spoilers ahead for all of "Cobra Kai."

Netflix's "Cobra Kai" Season 6 Part 3 has come to a characteristically hard-hitting close, with climactic fights and even literal explosions making sure that viewers get their fill of hand-to-hand combat. Throughout the popular "The Karate Kid" sequel show's duration, fans have been treated to an amazing collection of fights that range from borderline comical to performatively acrobatic and even deathly serious. With the series' end finally at hand, it's high time to look at the best and most high-kicking martial arts performances across the show's six seasons.

Since every season of "Cobra Kai" features so very many fights, there's a chance that some of your favorites will be absent from the following list. 'Cobra Kai' Reveals the Truth Behind the Secret Mr. Miyagi Kept from Daniel
Image
Cobra Kai has come to an end after the third and final set of episodes has officially been released on Netflix. The second part of the final season was the darkest yet. Not only were all the kids off their games at the Sekai Taikai tournament, Daniel (Ralph Macchio) was out of sorts, too. The reason? He found an old box of Mr. Miyagi’s (Pat Morita) belongings under the floor in his home that made Daniel question who his sensei really was. Searching for the truth haunted Daniel for much of the second set of episodes. Fortunately, the final batch of episodes provides satisfying closure for Daniel and the audience.

‘Cobra Kai’ Never Dies… But It Does Have to End
Image
For a whole generation, Johnny Lawrence, played by Billy Zabka in The Karate Kid, was the zenith of teen villainy. He was rich! He had an entourage of bully minions! The fact that he was tall and blond and preyed on a small, olive-skinned immigrant didn’t look great! Now we can say Johnny was essentially brainwashed into violence by Kreese (Martin Kove), the sociopathic sensei who used his dojo, Cobra Kai, to train Johnny in his extremely aggressive style of karate. But back in the mid-‘80s, Johnny was the jerk against whom all other pop-culture jerks were measured. Even though today’s teen villains have more platforms on which to attack their targets and more bad role models to inculcate them with more bad ideas, there is hope: Cobra Kai shows us that even the most toxic man can be redeemed.

When we left off in December with...

‘Cobra Kai’ Sets Up Final Battle With Trailer & New Photos
Image
The end nears for Netflix’s Cobra Kai, but there’s still more action ahead before the series concludes on February 13. In a newly released trailer for the third part of the sixth and final season shows how Johnny (William Zabka and Daniel (Ralph Macchio) go from enemies to friends.

A batch of new photos can be found below.

After a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the mat. Almost 40 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, it’s all been leading to this.

In a recent teaser, Johnny is practicing with his son Robby (Tanner Buchanan) as Daniel is training with his daughter Samantha (Mary Mouser). Tory is getting herself into fighting shape by running track. All this is happening as Gunther Braun (Carsten Norgaard), host of Sekai Taikai,...

Netflix Unveils New Sneak Peek Clip of Cobra Kai's Final Episodes
Image
It’s been over 40 years since Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) first taught Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) how to defend himself from the vile Cobra Kai bully, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). After reuniting and reigniting their old feud, the two enemies have now become allies as they seek to dominate the world's most renowned karate tournament - the Sekai Taikai.

After five seasons of Cobra Kai,the end is around the corner, and whilst it will be sad to say goodbye to so many of Johnny and Daniel’s new generation of "Karate Kids," the ending will be something worth waiting for. There is no doubt if Netflix’s teaser is anything to go by.

A New Teaser Unveiled as 'Cobra Kai's Final Season Gets Closer to Its Premiere
Image
Fans can now break down the new sneak peek preview of Cobra Kai’s emotional swan song in Season 6 Part 3 (watch it below). After six seasons of Johnny Lawrence-level badassery, the Miyagi-Do students are hanging up their gis as the final five episodes are scheduled to drop Feb. 13, on Netflix. The brand-new footage gives the faithful followers of TheKarate Kid spin-off series a very small taste of what’s to come following the tragic death of Cobra Kai’s hot-headed student Kwon (Brandon H. Lee) in the Sekai Taikai at the end of the Season 6 Part 2 finale.

The sneak peek is exactly that, at only 73 seconds, and unfortunately, it doesn’t give away very many juicy details from the final five episodes of Cobra Kai. The Sekai Taikai’s host, Gunther Braun (Carsten Norgaard) narrates the footage as fan-favorites like Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña), Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan), and...

Quick Links Terry Silver Is Back in Town in Cobra Kai Terrys Journey So Far in Cobra Kai Terry Silvers Story From The Karate Kid II

Every season of Cobra Kai has reintroduced characters from The Karate Kid movies, much to fans delight. Some have come and gone, like Ali (Elisabeth Shue), and others have stayed, like Chozen (Yuji Okumoto). Some have been villains, like John Kreese (Martin Kove), Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), and reformed villain Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan).

While it seemed like Kreese was down for the count in Season 5, relegated to jail, he returned in part one of Season 6, having escaped and faked his own death. In part two, another familiar face returns.

Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2 Review: The Karate Tournament Is Just the Start
Image
The following contains spoilers from Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 6, "Benvinguts a Barcelona," now streaming on Netflix.

Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2 is everything fans have been waiting for -- and an example of just how far the Netflix show has come since its days on YouTube Red. The second batch of five episodes delivers plenty of karate action, as it finally kicks off the Sekai Taikai tournament that fans have heard about all season. But it says something that the fight scenes are actually not the most interesting thing about Season 6, Part 2.

That's not to say the show's fight choreography has slipped in any way. But the chemistry between the Netflix series' extensive cast and the humor they're able to interject between all the battles is even more impressive. This group of episodes showcases not only the team effort of the Miyagi-do students, but also how much the Cobra Kai cast has become a team,...

Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 is now streaming on Netflix. There are five new episodes of the hit Netflix original series for fans to watch. I binge-watched all five episodes of part 2, and I have to talk about the season 6 part 2 ending.

It is absolutely the most insane ending of a Cobra Kai episode since... probably ever. It's even wilder than the Cobra Kai season 2 finale when Robby (Tanner Buchanan) almost killed Miguel (Xolo Maridueña).

Miyagi-Do Faces Off Against Old and New Rivals in ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Part 2 Trailer
Image
Johnny Lawrence, Daniel Larusso and their students are headed overseas to compete in the international Sekai Taikai tournament in a new trailer for “Cobra Kai” Season 6 Part 2, which will drop on Netflix on Nov. 15.

The trailer shows the group landing in Barcelona, Spain and the group entering the doors of the karate competition, where they’re set to face off against 15 other teams. In addition to new rivals, Miyagi-Do will also deal with the fallout of Tory Nichols (Peyton List) defecting to Cobra Kai, while also fighting to stay united as internal rivalries bubble to the surface.

“We’ve heard all this garbage going around about loyalty. Almost all of us are trained somewhere else at some point,” Lawrence says in the teaser. “What matters is where our asses are now. We’re Miyagi-Do and we’re not losing. So wipe the smirks off their ugly faces.”

Avp: Alien vs. Predator (2004) – Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie?
Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator (1987)
Pretty much from the moment the sci-fi action classic Predator was released in 1987, fans were wondering what it would be like if the alien hunter from that film were to clash with the xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. Dark Horse Comics dove into the concept right away, publishing their first Aliens vs. Predator story in 1989. It took a lot longer for the battle to reach the big screen, though. Fifteen years longer, in fact. And with the latest episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, we’re looking into the making of 2004’s Avp: Alien vs. Predator (watch it Here). To find out all about this movie, check out the video embedded above.

Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, Avp: Alien vs. Predator has the following synopsis:

When the wealthy and ambitious Charles Bishop Weyland funds an expedition to Antarctica, he hopes to find a...

American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally Review: Classic Al Pacino Can't Save Dull War Drama
Image
American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally tells the true story of Nazi propagandist Mildred Gillars. Born in Maine, Gillars moved to Germany in the mid-1930s to pursue her dreams as a singer and theater performer. She became the American voice of the Third Reich's Rrg (German State Radio). She expounded Nazi superiority and anti-semitic doctrine to millions of listeners in Europe and the United States. Much like her infamous 20th century cohorts Tokyo Rose and Hanoi Hannah, Axis Sally's dulcet tones were quite effective and viewed as high treason.

Director Michael Polish adapts the novel "Axis Sally Confidential" by William E. Owen, who started his legal career as an assistant defense counsel at her trial. The film opens with stark archival footage of World War II. The aspect ratio transitions to letterbox with Mildred Gillars (Meadow Williams) being arrested by American soldiers for treason shortly after the fall of Germany.

Al Pacino Presents His Case In ‘American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally’; Lionsgate’s ‘Endangered Species’, ‘Moby Doc’ On Theater Slate For Memorial Day Weekend’ – Specialty Preview
Image
Oscar-winner Al Pacino and Meadow Williams star in American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally, the historical drama hitting select theaters this Memorial Day weekend via Vertical Entertainment and Redbox Entertainment. Michael Polish directed the film, which is based on a true story and follows the life of American woman Mildred Gillars (Williams) and her lawyer (Pacino), who struggle to redeem her reputation.

Dubbed “Axis Sally” for broadcasting Nazi propaganda to American troops during World War II, Mildred’s story exposes the dark underbelly of the Third Reich’s hate-filled propaganda machine, her eventual capture in Berlin, and subsequent trial for treason against the United States after the war.

Mitch Pileggi, Thomas Kretschmann, Lala Kent, Carsten Norgaard, and Swen Temmel round out the cast. The pic, which is based on William E. Owen’s novel, Axis Sally Confidential, is also available on-demand. William and Vance Owen’s book Axis Sally Confidential,...

‘American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally’ Review: Thin, Costumey Account of a Wartime Collaborator’s Postwar Fate
Image
In 1981’s “Lili Marleen,” directed by German provocateur R.W. Fassbinder, the titular song is repeatedly played to an imprisoned man in an effort to break his spirit. In “American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally,” it takes only one rendition to have much the same effect on the viewer, though that may be because by the time Mildred Gillars (Meadow Williams) performs it at some Nazi Party party, we’ve already had an hour of this utterly absurd movie, and are ready to crack.

Clumsy, campy and kitsch, but also deadeningly dull for long stretches, “American Traitor” is directed by Michael Polish (“The Astronaut Farmer”) and based on the true story of radio star Gillars, aka Axis Sally, an American wannabe actress who found notoriety as the English-language voice of the Third Reich’s propaganda machine. But the film swings very wide of recorded history, especially in terms of...

Michael Polish at an event for Northfork (2003)
"I did what I could to survive..." Vertical Entertainment has released the official trailer for a legal drama called American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally, the latest from director Michael Polish. An American woman named Mildred Gillars, played in this by Meadow Williams, broadcast Nazi propaganda during World War II. She was dubbed "Axis Sally" by the American GIs who simultaneously loved and hated her because of her voice. The story plunges viewers into the very dark underbelly of the Third Reich's hate-filled propaganda machine, Sally's eventual capture, and the subsequent trial for treason in Washington D.C. after the war. The main cast also includes Al Pacino as lawyer James Laughlin, Thomas Kretschmann, Mitch Pileggi, Lala Kent, and Carsten Norgaard. This seems like a fascinating story to tell, but doesn't look like a very interesting film. Official trailer for Michael Polish's American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally,...

The Mighty Ducks Cast Reunited at a Hockey Game Over the Weekend
Shaun Weiss in The Mighty Ducks (1992)
Several cast members from The Mighty Ducks franchise reunited at a recent Anaheim Ducks hockey game. It's been more than 20 years since we last saw the scrappy, fictitious young hockey team on the ice, but for many of those who grew up on Disney movies in the 90s, these remain a nostalgic staple. As such, it should delight quite a few out there to see Kenan Thompson, Danny Tamberelli, Garette Ratliff Henson, Vincent Larusso and Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine back together again. The official Instagram account for the Anaheim Ducks shared a photo of them gathered together with the following caption.

"The quack attack is back, Jack! Glad to have a few Mighty Ducks join us for the game, and a few other fun projects, today on Long Island."

Garette Ratliff Henson, Vincent Larusso and Danny Tamberelli all starred in the original 1992 movie, with both Kenan Thompson and Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine joining up for both of the sequels,...

The Man In The High Castle, Season 1 is a compelling watch despite stumbles
The Man In The High Castle, Season 1

Created by Frank Spotnitz

Released November 20th, 2015 by Amazon Prime

Over the years, many works of legendary author Philip K. Dick have been adapted for the screen. The latest adaptation comes to the small screen courtesy of Amazon Prime, whose newest original series brings his novel The Man In The High Castle from the page to the screen. Developed by Frank Spotnitz, the show’s first season presents a lot of fascinating ideas, and is worth a watch despite some missteps in characterisation.

The show’s exploration of the uneasy alliance between Japan and Germany, and how it develops over the course of the season, makes for a fascinating watch. The unequal power balance between the two Axis powers is made very clear, along with the revelation that both groups are very well aware of it, right from the pilot. The development of...

The Man in the High Castle Recap: Secrets and Blame
Rufus Sewell in The Man in the High Castle (2015)
The fifth episode of The Man in the High Castle deals with the fallout of the shooting of the crown prince, while also sending lead characters Juliana (Alexa Davalos) and Joe (Luke Kleintank) to opposite sides of the country. It's a tight, well-directed, and promising set-up for what's to come as we arrive at the halfway point of this season's narrative arc."The New Normal" picks up immediately after the end of the last episode. The crown prince of Japan was indeed shot, but not by a vengeful Frank Frink (Rupert Evans). As panic ensues, people see Frank with a gun in the crowd and blood on his hand. He drops Juliana's locket as he flees, hiding the weapon as medics tend to the crown prince. Wegener (Carsten Norgaard), Kido (Joel de la Fuente), and Tagomi (Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa) look on with concern. Of course, the area around the assassination...

The Man In The High Castle Season 1 Review
Six episodes were provided prior to broadcast.

The premise of Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle is still as grimly transfixing today as it was back in 1962 when Philip K. Dick’s source-material novel first hit shelves: what if the Axis Powers had triumphed in World War II, conquering the United States and dividing it into a Nazi-controlled east, a Japan-ruled west and a lawless neutral zone in between? And as executed by renowned X-Files writer Frank Spotnitz, the series is every bit as nightmarishly gripping as its literary namesake, a portrait of alt-history America so richly, intricately sketched that it almost immediately feels that most chilling of adjectives for a show of this nature: plausible.

In The Man in the High Castle‘s chilling reality, the year is 1962, and the Führer, though alive, is old and graying. The prospect of his imminent death adds new complexity to...

The Man In The High Castle pilot review
If picked up, Amazon Pilot The Man In The High Castle could become as compulsive to watch as The Americans meets Lost...

This review contains spoilers.

1.1 The Man In The High Castle (Pilot)

Adapting the worlds of Philip K. Dick to visual media is always a tricky proposition. For whatever reason, the person who has done Dick's work the most justice is Ridley Scott in his production of Blade Runner. Even that was different from the source material, but it works brilliantly as a film thanks to Scott's pruning and shaping, and that's one of the reasons why Amazon Studios' adaptation of The Man In The High Castle has been greeted with such interest from fans of all things weird. After all, when you have Ridley Scott and The X-Files guru Frank Spotnitz attached to the same project, it seems like only good things can result.
