In a recent update, it was revealed that the S.W.A.T. series finale will feel like "business as usual."

The 2017 action-drama S.W.A.T. has been canceled for the third and possibly final time. With the series finale just a few weeks away, TVLine, unfortunately, confirms that former cast members will not be making a return for the series send-off. Fans asked if viewers could expect the return of former characters such as Jim Street (Alex Russell), Christina Alonso (Lina Esco), and Dominique Luca (Kenny Johnson), specifically about the possibility of aStreet-Chris wedding. TVLine responded that, per the series finale synopsis, "it will be business as usual for 20-Squad."

Peter Onorati played Jeffery "Jack" Mumford in S.W.A.T. as part of the main cast in season 1, but was surprisingly slowly written out of the show years later. Onorati starred alongside Shemar Moore, Jay Harrington, and Alex Russell, some of whom still appear on the show. Onorati's character, Jack, was a Swat leader, and his team often worked closely with Hondo's team.

The S.W.A.T. cast has changed a few times over the years, but no character exit has been as strange and slow as Onorati's Jack Mumford. He started as a main cast member in 2017, then he was demoted to a recurring character, and then he disappeared entirely, only to return briefly in season 7. For the time being, there's no expectation for him to appear in season 8 of S.W.A.T. His mysterious departure has left an unanswered question in S.W.A.T. plots.

As Criminal Minds: Evolution continues on Paramount+, many hope that some of the show's original actors (e.g. Shemar Moore) will return, but it would be difficult for Moore to reprise his role as Derek Morgan in season 3. Criminal Minds: Evolution is a revival of the CBS police procedural crime drama and premiered two years after its series finale. Consequently, the world of Criminal Minds lives on as Evolution heads into its third season. While many original actors have returned for the revival and are expected to be in season 3, Moore, unfortunately, isn't one of them.

Production on Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 began in August 2024, and while Paramount+ hasn't announced a release date, many predict season 3 will be released in 2025.

Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2's ending left many questions unanswered, including if Voit survived the prison attack. Thankfully, Paramount+ announced that the show had been renewed for a third season prior to its season 2 finale.

Even though David "Deacon" Kay's retirement from the S.W.A.T. team was a real possibility by the end of Swat season 7, he will be back in season 8, and Deacon's return points to one of the show's biggest problems. Jay Harrington has starred as Deacon in the CBS police procedural action drama from the very first episode. So, the writers were seemingly plotting Deacon's perfect ending ( la retirement) for the Swat season 7 finale, which was initially thought to be the series finale. However, CBS reversed its previous decision to cancel Swat and greenlit season 8.

Swat is being canceled after six seasons. The series, which is a reboot of the 1975 series of the same name and premiered on CBS in November 2017, follows an LAPD Special Weapons and Tactics unit led by Sergeant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson (Shemar Moore) and has run for over 120 episodes. The ensemble cast of the series also includes Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, Peter Onorati, and Jay Harrington, and has featured guest performances from actors including Debbie Allen, Taye Diggs, and Lucifer star D.B. Woodside.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Swat has been canceled just two weeks ahead of the Swat season 6 finale. The reason for this cancelation is not because of ratings or the ongoing writers strike. Rather, it is because the series is a co-production between CBS and Sony and the industry is largely moving toward studios having full ownership of their series.

Through the years, “This Is Us” has welcomed countless big-name guest stars to its ever-growing family, with a whopping six being nominated at the Emmys: Ron Cephas Jones, Gerald McRaney, Brian Tyree Henry, Denis O’Hare, Michael Angarano and Phylicia Rashad. Jones and McRaney are the only two guest stars to take home trophies, but now Angarano is hoping to follow in their Emmy-winning footsteps.

Angarano first joined NBC’s family drama in 2018 as Nick Pearson, the estranged brother of Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia). In flashbacks we see Nick’s early life with Jack and their service in Vietnam, while in the present-day story he’s known as Uncle Nicky (Griffin Dunne) and lives a mostly solitary life in his trailer. Grey's Anatomy may have wrapped up its sixteenth season early, but spin-off series Station 19 is still chugging along.

ABC has dropped a new trailer for Station 19 Season 3 Episode 15, and it shows an armed woman causing trouble after an incident.

In a twist of fate, Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) is in the ambulance trying to operate on a patient, and Ben (Jason George) is also present.

As the clip plays out, gunshots ring out at the conclusion, while Bailey is seen in Grey Sloan Memorial realizing that something is amiss.

Perhaps it's because the ambulance doesn't show up when it should.

If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you know Bailey has suffered a lot of heartache of late, so killing off her husband would be cruel.

Heck, even killing Jackson would be cruel.

CBS has handed out a full-season order to Shemar Moore cop series “S.W.A.T.,” while Mark Feuerstein-starring family comedy “9JKL” has picked up three additional episodes. “S.W.A.T.” is averaging 10.36 million viewers on Thursdays, while “9JKL” averages 7.4 million viewers on Mondays.

Based on the 2003 film of the same name, “S.W.A.T.” is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios. It stars Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, Peter Onorati and David Lim.

No “Bull,” CBS wants you to know that the freshman Michael Weatherly series is actually the No. 1 new show of the year in total viewers, over NBC’s lauded “This Is Us.”

“We congratulate them on their success, but we like winning,” CBS senior exec VP Kelly Kahl said. He also pointed out that even CBS’ “Blue Bloods” has a larger audience than any other drama on the other networks, except “This Is Us.”

“The Big Bang Theory” is the “Wayne Gretzky of comedy,” he noted, arguing that no other half-hour comes close in total viewers, which is why they’re big on spinoff entry “Young Sheldon.” The show was recently renewed for two more seasons, a negotiation that Moonves characterized as amicable.

CBS is going multigenerational with two new sitcoms, including an ambitious single-camera comedy starring “Saturday Night Live’s” Bobby Moynihan, while sticking with tried-and-true topics – crime and action – for its new dramas. The network announced four new dramas and two comedies:
