CBS is expanding itsFBI franchise with a new series titled CIA, set to premiere in the 2025–2026 season. The show will star Tom Ellis (Lucifer) as a charismatic, rule-breaking CIA case officer. He will be paired with a yet-to-be-cast, by-the-book FBI agent. Together, this mismatched duo will operate from the CIA's New York Station, investigating domestic threats and showcasing how their contrasting styles have become their greatest asset. Serving as executive producer on the series will be David Hudgins, the showrunner for the just-concluded FBI spin-off FBI: Most Wanted. Tom Ellis, who plays the flirtatious college professor who gets in a romantic situationship with Catherine Missal’s Bree in Tell Me Lies season two, recently told People that he will be returning for the forthcoming third season.

“Yes, I’m going back. I’m actually going there on Saturday to start shooting,” Ellis said at CBS Fest in Los Angeles.

Tell Me Lies, created by Meaghan Oppenheimer, follows the complicated relationship between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) throughout their college years and beyond. 

Season 2, which launched with two episodes and concluded on October 16, consisted of eight episodes, down from ten in Season 1. While Oppenheimer has recently taken a "delayed maternity leave" before working on Season 3, Tell Me Lies Season 3 was officially renewed last month.

And, Drew finally returns and reunites with his brother, Wrigley. Wrigley and Drew end up making up and go out for a night of drinking. While out together, Wrigley supplies Drew with pain killers, which Drew splits in half to avoid taking too much. However, upon waking up the next morning, we discover that Drew has passed away in his sleep from an overdose as the pills he was taking were not meant to be split in half.

One of the big mysteries of Tell Me Lies‘ second season has been who has repeatedly been calling Bree (Cat Missal) towards the end of season two.

For a recap, if you need a refresher, in the 2015 timeline, Bree has been seen either ignoring a call from a private number, or in a heated discussion with someone trying to get them to leave her alone.

Fan theories have pointed to Oliver (Tom Ellis), Marianne (Gabriella Pession), or a possible family member of Bree’s who we haven’t met yet.

“Tell Me Lies” has come full circle, with its Season 2 finale seeing Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White) back together, and definitely not better than ever.

After Stephen declared his love for Lucy at the end of Episode 7, the finale picks up after the exes hooked up, leaving Lucy in a place so low all she can think to do is reach back out to Leo (Thomas Doherty) and make a plea for them to reconcile. The time we all dread when watching our favorite shows has come for Tell Me Lies season 2. And that's the fact that the season is over, and boy what a season finale it was. That means we start to wonder if the series has been renewed. I'm also here to talk about whether it even should be.

As of right now, Tell Me Lies has not been renewed or canceled by Hulu. So it's unclear yet if a season 3 is going to happen. We might get news soon, or it might take a few months. It all really depends on when the streamer decides to give us an answer. Hopefully, Hulu won't make us wait too long. Companies consider viewership numbers the most as well as how much a show costs to make. So there's that to consider.

In the final moments of the episode, Bree listens to the recording Stephen made back in college with Evan confessing he had sex with Lucy. Bree obviously had not heard this information until her wedding day, and is shocked. The show ended with this major cliffhanger.

Hulu’s hit series Tell Me Lies has almost wrapped up it’s second season, with the finale airing on Wednesday.

What you may not know is, Jackson White, who portrays Stephen on the series, is the son of actress Katey Sagal, who portrays Stephen’s mom on the show.

In the series, they have a very strained relationship with Katey‘s character being incredibly manipulative. Stephen has obviously been impacted by his upbringing, and it shows with his character’s decisions throughout season one as well.

Actor Tom Ellis, who you may recognize from Lucifer, is working with his wife, Meaghan Oppenheimer, on the Hulu series Tell Me Lies, where she acts as showrunner.

After viewers saw the flash-forward at the end of the season two premiere of the Meaghan Oppenheimer-created Hulu series — which teased a romantic relationship between the pair in the 2015 timeline — many have likely been wondering how the two former classmates got there. Tom Ellis treaded fantasy for soapy dramatics for Season 2 of Hulu’s “Tell Me Lies,” in a “quietly sociopathic” role he recalled having the “hardest time” breaking into.

Hulus Tell Me Lies has a big twist that could get the showrunner cancelled. This TV adaptation of Carola Loverings 2018 novel of the same name initially premiered on Hulu in late 2022. The show, just like the source material, follows the tumultuous relationship between the central characters, Lucy and Stephen, over an 8-year period. Season 1 managed strong viewership numbers, and it also garnered a dedicated audience, leading Hulu to renew Tell Me Lies season 2.

Now, following the release of the first two episodes of Tell Me Lies season 2, showrunner Megan Oppenheimer reveals to The Hollywood Reporter that episode 7 of the new season has a huge twist that she envisages will cause a lot of controversy. They were joined at the event by executive producer Emma Roberts, creator/EP Meaghan Oppenheimer, and cast members including Spencer House, Alicia Crowder, Branden Cook, Sonia Mena, and new co-stars Thomas Doherty and Katherine Hughes. Author of the original book, Carola Lovering, was also in attendance!
