Actors Adnan Khan and Mallika Singh will be seen essaying the roles of Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki in the upcoming show ‘Pracchand Ashok’, which is set in the ancient kingdom of Magadh and Kalinga.

‘Pracchand Ashok’ recounts the tale of Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki, two legends who are as different as day and night. While Kaurwaki dreams of a partner with a heart of gold, cherishing family values above all, Ashok is a relentless conqueror who thinks of family as a chink in one’s armour and unafraid to spill blood for power.

Actors Rakshanda Khan and Chetan Hansraj have joined the star cast of the upcoming magnum opus ‘Pracchand Ashok’, and have opened up in details about their characters.

The show is the legendary love saga of Samrat Ashok (Adnan Khan) and Princess Kaurwaki (Mallika Singh).

The historical romance traces the journey of Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki, two individuals who are as different as day and night. Kaurwaki seeks a compassionate companion, who is devoted to family, while Ashok is driven by conquest and thirst for power.

Despite their contrasting ideologies, fate weaves a love story that changes history forever.

In this epic narrative, Chetan Hansraj is all set to shine in the role of Bindusar, the heir of Chandragupta Maurya and Ashok’s father.

He is a towering figure with regal authority and sharp intellect. His poised demeanour conceals a fierce determination to expand his realm and preserve its grandeur.

Actor Gurmeet Choudhary is set to portray the legendary Rajput warrior-king Maharana Pratap in the upcoming period streaming series ‘Maharana’. Ridhima Pandit will essay the role of Maharani Ajabde. Maharana Pratap was a Shiva devotee who belonged to the Sisodia dynasty and resisted the expansionism of the Mughal Empire under king Akbar.

March 2 2010: The 5th Bhojpuri Film Awards publicized the concept of ‘unity in diversity’. The awards spoke about the significance of national integration by presenting an award for the ‘Best Film’ on national integration, apart from giving the other general awards. The press conference of the biggest Bhojpuri film awards was held on 27th of February, 2010, at the Country Club in Mumbai.

The event witnessed the presence of top personalities like Nagma, Surendra Pal, Kunika Lal, Udit and Deepa Narayan, and well-known writer and director, Sawan Kumar Tak.
