CinemaCon: Screenvision Unveils Revamped Preshow
Screenvision today announced a redesign of its pre-feature entertainment programming, which recently launched in theatres nationwide. The preshow has been rebranded as ‘Front & Center’ and features an updated design and format that enables Screenvision to better showcase entertainment programming and brand advertising. The Front & Center preshow runs three entertainment blocks per show and this past month featured Fox’s Rio 2, NBC’s Crisis, Believe and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, FX’s Americans, Entv (monthly highlight of upcoming movies), and an original production featuring the best of CES 2014 for moviegoers with technology expert Shelly Palmer. NATPE gearing up for January confab
Discovery's David Zaslav, Shine's Elisabeth Murdoch, Hollywood heavyweight Michael Eisner and writer-producer Bill Lawrence are among the big-ticket draws at the upcoming National Association of Television Program Executives confab unspooling in Las Vegas Jan. 25-27.

In a conference call with media Wednesday, NATPE president and CEO Rick Feldman previewed key highlights of the event, which for the fifth year takes place at the Mandalay Bay Resort.

The event's theme -- Content Commerce Connections -- embodies Natpe's mission as a facilitator, bringing industry leaders and entrepreneurs together from broadcast, cable, digital and international.

Like many such trade events during the last two years, attendance has dwindled and many companies are reducing their participation, especially domestic syndicators and U.S. station groups.

Disney Inks Deal with Hulu: MediaBytes with Shelly Palmer May 1, 2009
Disney has officially become an equity-owning partner in Nbcu-Fox venture Hulu. The deal ensures that programming from both ABC and the Disney Channel, amongst other Disney owned networks, will air on the popular streaming site. CEO Robert Iger noted that "Disney and Hulu share a focus on delivering the highest-quality entertainment experience and we look forward to working with Hulu to build value for our consumers, our brands and our shareholders." While many company's are reporting record loses, Comcast noted a 6% increase in for the first quarter. An increase in subscribers, without much of a discount, helped the cable-telco raise the average revenue per subscriber. Analysts are cheering Comcast for being able to both reduce spending and double its cash flow. Viacom's profit fell 34% in the last quarter, with its net income falling from $270 million to $177 million year...
