Sydney Sweeney Made Her TV Debut In A Popular 2000s Superhero Series
Image
When Tim Kring's superhero series "Heroes" debuted in 2006, it took the world by storm and became popular instantly. The show's first season explored a brand-new, wholly original universe where random citizens began to develop supernatural abilities. At the center of the drama was Claire (Hayden Panettiere), a high school cheerleader who found that she could heal from any injury. Meanwhile, in Japan, a fella named Hiro (Masi Oka) realized he could teleport across the planet and even shift through time. Similarly, a woman named Niki (Ali Larter) discovered she had superhuman strength, while Milo Ventimiglia played Peter, a retirement home nurse who could replicate the superpowers of others.

On the opposing side, there was Sylar (Zachary Quinto), a dangerous villain who could absorb other people's powers after killing them. (It's heavily implied he would eat their brains.) Elsewhere, Jack Coleman co-starred as a character referred to only as Horn-Rimmed Glasses,...

This 53% Rotten Tomatoes Horror Film Is Slashing Up the Streaming Charts as Fans Relive the Terror Again and Again
Image
When Until Dawn first entered theaters, it was a mild success. It received mediocre praise from fans and critics alike on Rotten Tomatoes, but managed to generate $53 million at the global box office. Now, as the 2025 horror film makes its way into streaming, it has the opportunity to start over and find a second chance at success, leaving a mark on the Netflix charts.

According to FlixPatrol,Until Dawn landed at the #2 spot on Netflix's Top 10 Movies in the U.S. on July 25, 2025, just between KPop Demon Hunters and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. The film is based on the 2015 PlayStation game of the same name and was described by director David F. Sandberg as an homage to the horror genre. Until Dawn was described in Collider's review as "Cabin in the Woods meets Groundhog Day with a horror twist," praising its use of different horror tropes and maintaining the spirit of the original game.

General Hospital’s Jonathan Jackson Hits Stage With Former Co-Star
Image
Jonathan Jackson’s Lucky may have left Port Charles behind on General Hospital, but his love of performing is still going strong. The actor reunited with his former Nashville co-star, Clare Bowen, to do a series of live shows on the East Coast. The pair stopped into the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, NJ and wowed the crowd with songs and storytelling.

Hitting The Road

Lucky recently departed with his son Aiden (Colin Cassidy) after returning to Gh in August of 2024. The commute between Los Angeles, where the show tapes, and Jackson’s home in Tennessee was the reason given for his departure. Fans were excited to see the actor return to the canvas, with some expressing disappointment when his return did not last as long as they had hoped.

Watch Now: Dive into the drama with SoapHub Says.

The actor was recently nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category.

“The Best Sequel” From an Iconic Horror Franchise Is About to Leave Netflix—Don’t Miss This “phenomenal thrill ride”
Image
Netflix is always changing up its lineup. It almost feels as though just as you start to get comfortable with the idea that you can find one of your favorite films in their streaming catalog, the platform pulls a fast one and you’re out of luck.

They’ve even begun pulling their original content off the platform, as is evidenced by the removal of the interactive feature Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. The latest removal to catch our eye is not a Netflix original, but a beloved slasher sequel from celebrated directorial collective Radio Silence.

Indeed, Netflix has announced plans to pull Scream VI from their streaming lineup on July 25, 2025, meaning that your last day to watch the flick there is July 24, 2025.

What happens in Scream VI?

The film sees four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find...

Scream 7: Everything We Know About the New Sequel
Image
In 2022, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media revived the Scream franchise with a new entry (the fifth) that was a box office hit, earning almost $139 million at the global box office. Fourteen months later, Scream VI came along – and became an even bigger hit, pulling in almost $169 million at the global box office, a number that was up there with the series’ heyday, when the first Scream and Scream 2 made just over $170 million. (Scream 3 also made over $160 million – only Scream 4 failed to crack $100 million.) So, of course, the companies are moving full steam ahead with Scream 7. While the movie seemed, initially, to be on the fast-track to success, the track it’s on has turned out to be a shockingly bumpy ride.

Melissa Barrera Fired

Melissa Barrera entered the franchise with the fifth Scream as a character named Samantha Carpenter, who turns out to have been the...

'The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox' Teaser Unveils a Terrifying Real-Life Murder Trial
Image
Amanda Knox has been one of the biggest sources of fascination in the true crime world, and she is getting another crack at a fictionalized interpretation of her story. Hulu has released a teaser for The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, set to premiere on the streamer August 20. The series will reunite Grace Van Patten with Hulu after her captivating portrayal of Lucy in the unstable romantic drama, Tell Me Lies. The teaser for TheTwisted Tale of Amanda Knox is only 15 seconds, but it is jam-packed with harrowing visuals depicting the infamous case.

“Many people think they know my story,” Van Patten narrates as the accused murderer gets pulled from a police van, “but now it’s my turn to tell it.” The trailer shows Knox’s treatment by authorities and the media circus that the case became. This depiction of the true-crime story is also not the first time...

‘Scream 7’ Sparks Parker Posey Comeback Campaign
Image
Parker Posey has become the latest Scream alumnus to express an interest in returning to the slasher franchise, despite her character having met an apparent end 25 years ago. Speaking to ComicBook.com, the Scream 3 star revealed that she recently reconnected with members of the current creative team and floated the idea of reviving Jennifer Jolie in a new, possibly more metaphysical form.

“I actually pitched, ‘Can I just be in another dimension and come back?’” Posey said. The actor added that she ‘would love’ to return, noting how much freedom she was given on set by the late Wes Craven. “I can’t believe Wes Craven let me get away with some of the silly stuff I was doing,” she said. “I loved him, and that was fun.”

Posey’s comments arrive in the wake of numerous franchise veterans being confirmed for Scream 7, including David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley,...

Jonathan Jackson Exiting ‘General Hospital’ As Lucky Spencer
Image
Almost exactly a year to the day since “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini first teased the return of a beloved former male cast member, wherein fans would “go crazy for Him,” on Thursday, it was announced that Jonathan Jackson would be exiting the daytime drama series as Lucky Spencer.

According to TV Insider, which first broke the news, Jackson will depart the soap opera next week, more than nine months after reprising his Daytime Emmy Award-winning role following a nearly 10-year absence.

“We were so glad Jonathan was able to reprise the role of Lucky, even if was for a limited time,” said Valentini in a statement released to the outlet. “We wish him nothing but the best, and the door is always open for Jonathan to return.”

On the Wednesday, June 4 episode of the show, Lucky asked Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) to marry him, formally rekindling their dormant...

Parker Posey Joins List Of ‘Scream’ Victims Who Want To “Come Back”
Image
Although Parker Posey narrowly survived her stay at The White Lotus, she’s ready to go up against Ghostface again.

The Golden Globe nominee, whose Scream 3 (2000) character Jennifer Jolie was seemingly killed, hopes to reprise the role for a future installment after other previous franchise victims and killers have been resurrected.

“Well, I did an interview for Wnyc Radio, like three weeks ago, for the play I was doing. And they said, ‘Well, there’s some people here that want to say hi.’ And it was the Scream team,” Posey told ComicBook.com. “And I actually pitched, ‘Can I just be in another dimension and come back?'”

With Scream (2022) bringing back Skeet Ulrich‘s Og killer Billy Loomis in ghostly visions and Scream VI (2023) reviving Hayden Panettiere‘s Kirby Reed after she was left for dead in Scream 4 (2011), as well as the recent announcements that David Arquette, Matthew Lillard...

Interview: E. Coli, overly nice killer dogs, and other craziness made the Production of A Breed Apart truly Once in a Lifetime!
Image
I’m not sure there are many people that even remember the Wes Craven-produced film The Breed from 2006. Boasting performances from Michelle Rodriguez and Oliver Hudson, it came and went without much fanfare. Which makes it the perfect candidate for a reboot! Updating the story to be about influencers heading to an island, things go awry when the dogs on the island start attacking them. Because if there’s one group of people I’d love to see get attacked by rabid dogs: it’s influencers.

I chatted with directors Nathan and Griff Furst about the challenges of filming in Guatamala that included nearly everyone on the cast/crew getting sick. Page Kennedy (who will always be Radon Randell from Blue Mountain State to me) was very transparent about how he went to bat for his character. And Riele Downs gets into how the dogs were actually much nicer...

Hayden Panettiere Offers Young Actors Some Crucial Advice While Reflecting on Her Hollywood Return
Image
Disney's Remember the Titans is celebrating its 25th anniversay this year, believe it or not. And that firecracker of a young girl who called her daddy "Coach" throughout the hit movie? Yes, that was Hayden Panettiere, who has kept busy with a variety of other projects in the years since. That includes a pair of Scream films and the wildly popular series Nashville. Fans might forever know her as Juliette Barnes from the drama series centered on country music stars — and since Panettiere herself is a celebrity, she would later speak about how the story of Nashville even mirrored her own life at times.

In the years following the show's conclusion, the actress took a break from Hollywood and has since discussed her four-year hiatus. MovieWeb recently caught up with Panetierre amid the release of her new film, A Breed Apart, one of the first projects since her break, and...

Hayden Panettiere Lost the Role of a Lifetime in Taylor Sheridan’s 78% Rotten Tomatoes Hit Series
Image
Hayden Panettiere has had her fair share of iconic roles, from the cheerleader in Heroes to the country star in Nashville, and even a fan-favorite return in the Scream franchise. But despite her solid career, there’s one role that still stings, the one that got away.

Panettiere recently revealed she nearly auditioned for Landman, Taylor Sheridan’s gritty oil industry drama that premiered in 2024 and quickly struck gold with its audience with a 78% critics score rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Texas-based series has become another gem in the so-called Sheridan-verse, and Panettiere, a longtime fan of Sheridan’s work, can’t help but feel a little bummed she missed the chance to saddle up for it. Here is what happened!

Hayden Panettiere regrets passing on a role in Taylor Sheridan’s Landman!

One of Hayden Panettiere’s biggest career regrets doesn’t come from a role she played,...

Scream Star Hayden Panettiere Almost Auditioned For A Taylor Sheridan TV Series
Image
Although Hayden Panettiere has hardly done badly as an actor, most "Scream," "Heroes," and "Nashville" fans can agree that we'd prefer to see her in more things. That's why it stings a little to find out that she almost auditioned for "Landman," the Texan oil industry drama that was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and debuted in 2024. As Panettiere explained in an interview with Us Weekly:

"There was one audition I was supposed to do for 'Landman.' [My former 'Heroes' costar] Ali Larter's role is what I was reading for, and as much as I wanna work with Taylor Sheridan — who's just genius and, the creation of his characters and their relationships and stuff, he really is a genius — I was like, 'There's no way I am getting this.'"

Panettiere added that she sees this as a mistake and feels she should've just auditioned anyway, just to see what would've happened.

A Breed Apart Review: When Killer Dogs and Bad Tech Collide
Image
Every so often, a film’s premise lands on your desk that feels like a perfectly engineered B-movie setup, the kind that could either become a cult favorite or a cautionary tale. “A Breed Apart” barks loudly with that kind of energy right from the start. The core idea is deliciously simple: a collection of social media mavens, each chasing viral fame, are lured to a remote island.

Their host, a flamboyant fellow influencer, promises a high-stakes contest with the island itself as the grand prize. The catch? The island is teeming with some very un-photogenic, genetically agitated dogs. This isn’t your typical influencer retreat; it’s a creature feature with horror-comedy ambitions, a spiritual successor perhaps, in its wild-canine-chaos theme, to the 2006 film “The Breed,” though it charts its own distinct, and decidedly more over-the-top, territory.

You can almost feel the gleeful, schlocky intent, promising a particular brand...

A Breed Apart Review – Absurdity Unleashed
Image
When I was twenty-years-old I watched The Breed, a cheesy killer dog movie starring Michelle Rodriguez at the height of her popularity. By no stretch of the imagination was it a “good” movie, but nearly twenty years later I still remember it. It’s the type of mind-numbing popcorn flick that goes great with an extra cheese pizza and a cold refreshing beer. It’s not the type of movie that I’d ever imagined would get a sequel, especially not nearly two decades later. While A Breed Apart isn’t exactly a direct follow-up to its predecessor, it maintains the absurdity of the original while doubling down on the comedy.

The plot

A movie set is abandoned when the canine actors unexpectedly contract rabies and attack their animal handlers. The dogs are left to freely roam the island until several years later when a group of influencers are called...

'Until Dawn' Scares Away Critics With a Middling Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
The reviews are in. Until Dawn is about to enter theaters, critics have already shared what they have to say about the film adaptation of the 2015 PlayStation horror game. This feature was directed byDavid F. Sandberg, known for his work on DC's Shazam films, and stars Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Never Have I Ever), Odessa A'zion (Ghosts), Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, and Maia Mitchell. While the video game featured a star-studded cast like Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, Brett Dalton, and Jordan Fisher, does this new batch of cast members convey the same feeling its predecessor had on the big screen?

The moment the review embargo for Until Dawn was lifted, the film debuted with a 63% Rotten Tomatoes score. But as of writing, it has dropped to 62% as more reviews have started to come out. Many have described the feature as "Cabin in the Woods meets Groundhog Day with a horror twist,...

Until Dawn Director David F. Sandberg Had To Convince His Colleagues To Attempt In-Camera Special Effects [Exclusive]
Image
Ever since the advent of CGI, genre movies — sci-fi, fantasy, and horror films, in particular — have enjoyed an exponential leap forward in terms of their ability to depict all manner of imaginative places and beings. To be clear, the work that goes into creating everything from "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" to "Dune: Part Two" is considerable, whether or not the majority of the work is being done with computers. It's certainly true that the actual work that digital artists, animators, rotoscopers and the like do is hard to grasp in layman's terms; just look at a comment section for any given trailer for an upcoming blockbuster, and you'll see some form of "the CGI looks so bad" sentiment, posted by someone who assumes that these effects are done with little more than a few mouse clicks and keystrokes. One of the drawbacks of filmmaking becoming so dependent...

‘Until Dawn’ Review: Ella Rubin and Odessa A’zion in a Confused Video Game-Inspired Horror Flick
Image
The premise of Until Dawn, David F. Sandberg’s horror flick inspired by the video game of the same name, is promising despite its familiarity: A group of friends happen upon an abandoned residence in the middle of the woods and find themselves hunted by fatal forces of both the physical and supernatural variety. The stakes of this feature are also expectedly high: To avoid death, this crew of recognizable archetypes must outmaneuver their adversaries. And there’s even a twist that fans of the PlayStation game will immediately clock. This should be a recipe for success, if a minor one, but Until Dawn doesn’t really capitalize on these elements and, as a result, is erratically frightening and vaguely dissatisfying.

Written by Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman (Annabelle, Salem’s Lot), Until Dawn is the latest offering in a cinematic landscape littered with game-inspired movies. Just earlier this month...

‘Until Dawn’ Review: Extremely Loose Video Game Adaptation Doesn’t Suck Too Much
Image
Before “Until Dawn” was a movie, it was a video game that was also basically a movie. Developed by Supermassive Games and co-written by indie horror luminary Larry Fessenden (“Wendigo”), “Until Dawn” starred notable actors like Peter Stormare, Hayden Panettiere and future Oscar-winner Rami Malek. Players were guided through a mixed-bag monster movie in which early decisions reaped unexpected consequences as the game continued. It was essentially a 10-hour “cabin in the woods” b-movie you could rewatch/replay over and over, so characters died differently or stayed alive depending on your idle whims.

But the main story of “Until Dawn” was always the same: a group of teenagers goes to a secluded mountain lodge and are attacked by a deranged killer, and eventually supernatural monsters. That story has been almost entirely ignored — for better or worse — by David F. Sandberg’s extremely loose adaptation. There are still teens, there’s...

‘Until Dawn’ Review: Sony Betrays Its Popular Video Game to Deliver a Strangely Explosive Spoof
Image
A decade past its namesake video game, Sony’s “Until Dawn” adaptation isn’t the “best” possible outcome. To get that ending, the studio would’ve had to move faster, turning its popular PlayStation title from 2015 into a movie — preferably, back when it had a prayer of casting Hayden Panettiere and Rami Malek as the mo-cap teens they played then.

The original “Until Dawn” follows a group of grieving friends terrorized by a mysterious presence at a snowy cabin. It’s got multiple endings, famously determined by player choice, but the game also has a memorable narrative with the potential to win nostalgia points among gamers at the box office. Theoretically. What director David F. Sandberg does with his take on “Until Dawn” is something altogether stranger, with an approach more bizarre than almost any film 10 years ago would have tried.

Written by Gary Dauberman and Blair Butler, this “standalone...

'A Breed Apart's Grace Caroline Currey and Riele Downs Face a Wes Craven-Inspired Horror in New Image [Exclusive]
Image
One of Wes Craven's cult classics is getting a spiritual successor this summer in the form of A Breed Apart. Written and directed by The Furst Brothers, the survival horror comedy puts a new spin on 2006's The Breed, a film produced by the legendary Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream director that starred Michelle Rodriguez and followed a group of college kids on a "deserted" island where dogs were bred to kill. The new feature modernizes the concept, instead centering on a private island retreat where a group of social media influencers are confronted with man-eating beasts and forced into a deadly fight for survival that pits them against one another. We're excited to include the chilling survival flick as part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event for summer movies and share a new image highlighting two of the stars who will be thrown to the hounds on...

Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Star Grace Caroline Currey Vs. Killer Dogs In A Breed Apart Red Band Trailer
Image
Late A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left and Scream director Wes Craven was responsible for some of the most iconic movies, characters and moments in horror cinema, but he was also behind his share of duds, and one of 'em is getting a (very) loose remake.

Craven didn't actually direct 2006's The Breed, but he was a producer on the film, and recruited his A New Nightmare assistant director Nick Mastandrea to helm. The movie was not well-received (to say the least), so it was generally assumed that a remake could only be an improvement.

The original movie focused on two brothers and their friends travelling to an island cabin they inherited from their recently deceased uncle for a relaxing weekend getaway. The group is then besieged by genetically enhanced dogs bred to kill via an abandoned training facility on the Island. A Breed Apart...

Maybe skip this one, dog lovers…

In A Breed Apart, releasing in theaters and On Demand at home on May 16, 2025, “When Violet accepts an invitation to a private island with some of the...

10 Animated Movies of the 2010s (That Everyone Forgot About)
Image
The 2010s was a pivotal time for animated movies. Disney ushered in the new decade with its action-adventure film Tangled while DreamWorks started a successful fantasy franchise with How to Train Your Dragon. Recently retired animation studio Blue Sky made fan-favorite Rio and the next installment of the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift. As the decade continued, so did the expansive catalog of films, including Kubo and the Two Strings, Zootopia, and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.

These films made a lasting impact that projected the path ahead for many of these studios. Some animated films, however, failed to grab the audience's attention the way these titles did. Whether due to lackluster marketing or mixed critical reviews, these films still deserve to be discussed for their originality and broadening of the animation field.
