When Until Dawn first entered theaters, it was a mild success. It received mediocre praise from fans and critics alike on Rotten Tomatoes, but managed to generate $53 million at the global box office. Now, as the 2025 horror film makes its way into streaming, it has the opportunity to start over and find a second chance at success, leaving a mark on the Netflix charts.

According to FlixPatrol,Until Dawn landed at the #2 spot on Netflix's Top 10 Movies in the U.S. on July 25, 2025, just between KPop Demon Hunters and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. The film is based on the 2015 PlayStation game of the same name and was described by director David F. Sandberg as an homage to the horror genre. Until Dawn was described in Collider's review as "Cabin in the Woods meets Groundhog Day with a horror twist," praising its use of different horror tropes and maintaining the spirit of the original game.

Almost exactly a year to the day since “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini first teased the return of a beloved former male cast member, wherein fans would “go crazy for Him,” on Thursday, it was announced that Jonathan Jackson would be exiting the daytime drama series as Lucky Spencer.

According to TV Insider, which first broke the news, Jackson will depart the soap opera next week, more than nine months after reprising his Daytime Emmy Award-winning role following a nearly 10-year absence.

That's why it stings a little to find out that she almost auditioned for "Landman," the Texan oil industry drama that was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and debuted in 2024. As Panettiere explained in an interview with Us Weekly:

"There was one audition I was supposed to do for 'Landman.' [My former 'Heroes' costar] Ali Larter's role is what I was reading for, and as much as I wanna work with Taylor Sheridan — who's just genius and, the creation of his characters and their relationships and stuff, he really is a genius — I was like, 'There's no way I am getting this.'"

Panettiere added that she sees this as a mistake and feels she should've just auditioned anyway, just to see what would've happened.

When I was twenty-years-old I watched The Breed, a cheesy killer dog movie starring Michelle Rodriguez at the height of her popularity. By no stretch of the imagination was it a “good” movie, but nearly twenty years later I still remember it. It’s the type of mind-numbing popcorn flick that goes great with an extra cheese pizza and a cold refreshing beer. It’s not the type of movie that I’d ever imagined would get a sequel, especially not nearly two decades later. While A Breed Apart isn’t exactly a direct follow-up to its predecessor, it maintains the absurdity of the original while doubling down on the comedy.

It's certainly true that the actual work that digital artists, animators, rotoscopers and the like do is hard to grasp in layman's terms; just look at a comment section for any given trailer for an upcoming blockbuster, and you'll see some form of "the CGI looks so bad" sentiment, posted by someone who assumes that these effects are done with little more than a few mouse clicks and keystrokes. One of the drawbacks of filmmaking becoming so dependent...

The premise of Until Dawn, David F. Sandberg’s horror flick inspired by the video game of the same name, is promising despite its familiarity: A group of friends happen upon an abandoned residence in the middle of the woods and find themselves hunted by fatal forces of both the physical and supernatural variety. The stakes of this feature are also expectedly high: To avoid death, this crew of recognizable archetypes must outmaneuver their adversaries. And there’s even a twist that fans of the PlayStation game will immediately clock. This should be a recipe for success, if a minor one, but Until Dawn doesn’t really capitalize on these elements and, as a result, is erratically frightening and vaguely dissatisfying.

Late A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left and Scream director Wes Craven was responsible for some of the most iconic movies, characters and moments in horror cinema, but he was also behind his share of duds, and one of 'em is getting a (very) loose remake.

It’s been just about 20 years since the release of the Wes Craven-produced horror movie The Breed, and a brand new remake this year is taking an interesting approach to the material.

Back in 2006, the late, great Wes Craven produced a killer dog movie called The Breed (watch it Here), which was directed by Nicholas Mastandrea from a screenplay by Robert Conte and Peter Martin Wortmann and starred Michelle Rodriguez, Oliver Hudson, Taryn Manning, Eric Lively, Hill Harper, Nick Boraine, and Lisa-Marie Schneider. Now a remake of The Breed is in the works, going by the title A Breed Apart – and Lionsgate is planning to give the film a theatrical release on May 16th. With that date just one month away, a trailer for A Breed Apart has dropped online, and you can check it out in the embed above.

On the same day as the theatrical release, A Breed Apart will also be available On Demand and On Digital.

Set for a theatrical, digital, and on-demand release on May 16, the carnage-filled horror comedy is the latest to come from brotherly directorial duo, Griff and Nathan Furst — known collectively as The Furst Brothers. PlayStation is going all in on adaptations of their beloved video game IPs. Along with upcoming adaptations of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Helldivers, and more, one beloved horror hit is getting a dramatic reimagining with Until Dawn. The original game, which stars huge names like Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, and Peter Stormare, follows a group of teens as they survive a gauntlet of unique horror subgenres while on a desolate winter retreat. For the film adaptation, director David F. Sandberg and co-writer Blair Butler opted to do something much different for the franchise's feature film debut.

Several new posters from the horror video game adaptation, Until Dawn, have been revealed, and they introduce the monsters that will haunt the characters, stuck in a time loop, are forced to relive the nightmare over and over again. There will be a brand-new trailer debuting tomorrow ahead of the film's release in April.

The film is directed by David F. Sandberg with a script by Gary Dauberman and Blair Butler. Until Dawn stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A'zion, Maia Mitchell, and Belmont Cameli. Interestingly, Peter Stormare (Fargo) plays Dr. Hill, who was a character in the video game that the actor voiced.

The official plot reads:

One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…...

Last week, we learned that production has wrapped on a psychological thriller called Sleepwalker, starring Hayden Panettiere of Scream VI. Now, Deadline has revealed that the cast of the film also includes Justin Chatwin (Shameless), Beverly D’Angelo (Violent Night), Mischa Barton (The Oc), Lori Tan Chinn (Orange Is the New Black), Kea Ho (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For), Eric Lutes (Caroline in the City), Tom DeNucci (Junction), Rob Goon (The Roaring Game), and newcomers Laird Lacoste and Corinne Sweeney.

Written and directed by Brandon Auman, Sleepwalker follows a grieving mother who is haunted by the tragic loss of her daughter in a car accident that left her abusive husband in a coma. As she battles a surreal descent into darkness, her sleepwalking episodes intensify. Plagued by haunting visions of her husband inside their home, she grapples with the blurred lines between reality and nightmare. This is Auman’s feature directorial debut.
