Evelina Papoulia
- Actress
Forced by her parents to attend dance lessons at the tender age of 7,
Evelina Papoulia grew up in Athens, capital of Greece, where she
graduated from the Higher Professional School "Anna Petrova". Following
her graduation, she moved to New York in 1991, at the age of 20,
alongside a friend of hers, where she studied in the Lee Strasberg Theater
Institute. She also took part in several plays, such as "West Side
Story" (1993), while she also participated in the Mega Dance Company.
Despite the fact she didn't manage to become an American citizen, as
she originally wanted, she returned to her native Athens in 1993 and
started appearing in various TV series. Evelina first claimed stardom
as the hysterical blond TV persona Marina Kountouratou, in Dyo xenoi (1997).
Afterwards she made her film debut in the enormously successful
Safe Sex (1999), with a small part, and unleashed her sexy side in In Good Company (2000). She
has also proven herself on stage, as in "Waiting Till Dark"
(1999).
