Rick Parfitt was born on 12 October 1948 in Woking, Surrey, England, UK. He was an actor and composer, known for Once Upon a Time in the Midlands (2002), Sieranevada (2016) and Bula Quo! (2013). He was married to Lyndsay Whitburn, Patty Beedon and Marietta Booker. He died on 24 December 2016 in Marbella, Spain.

He was a friend of former Marillion singer Fish, even offering him help to stop smoking a couple of years before he died. Following his death, Fish wrote a lengthy tribute and said: "He may have been put down as a "three chord" wonder by some but as I was privileged to hear on so many occasions they were the best fucking three chords a man could play.".
