ABC has renewed scripted shows “The Good Doctor” and “A Million Little Things” as well as the unscripted series “Shark Tank.”

The announcement was part of ABC’s day at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Tuesday.

“The Good Doctor” will now return for a third season. The series follows Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, who relocates from a quiet country life to join the prestigious St. Bonaventure hospital’s surgical unit. In addition to Highmore, the series also stars Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Browne, Nicholas Gonzalez as Dr. Neil Melendez, Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman, Tamlyn Tomita as Allegra Aoki, Christina Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim, Fiona Gubelman as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park and Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo.

‘The Good Doctor’, ‘A Million Little Things’ & ‘Shark Tank’ Renewed By ABC
ABC has handed early renewals to drama series The Good Doctor and A Million Little Things and veteran unscripted series Shark Tank. The Good Doctor has been picked up for a third season, A Million Little Things for a second and Shark Tank for an 11th.

The Good Doctor, from Sony Pictures TV and ABC Studios, is averaging 11.2 million viewers and a 2.1 in adults 18-49, ranking as ABC’s most watched series and second highest rated in the demo behind Grey’s Anatomy. Despite facing hot new NBC drama Manifest, The Good Doctor has held its own and gradually reclaimed the top spot in the Monday 10 Pm hour.

A Million Little Things, co-financed by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and ABC Studios, got off to an inauspicious ratings start but got stronger as the season progressed, buoyed by big delayed-viewing bumps.

The Good Doctor Season 1 Episode 16 Review: Pain
The Good Doctor returns with a refreshing episode that allows Shaun to make a genuine connection with one of his patients.

On The Good Doctor Season 1 Episode 16, residents Murphy, Browne, and Park assist Dr. Melendez on a dangerous surgery. Meanwhile, Kalu and Reznick help Dr. Andrews with a woman who refuses to get a necessary surgery.

I was not here to write the review for The Good Doctor Season 1 Episode 16, but Dr. Alex Park joined our group of residents while I was gone. I have to say I truly enjoy this addition to the group.

He is a complicated character, as we saw with the murderous donor in episode 16, and Will Yun Lee blends in well with the rest of the cast.

Dr. Park is caring and intelligent, and I love that he has a unique background.
