You know how it goes: There's so much television and so little time. Most of us have lately become much more in tune with streaming services and their original series, but there are still so many amazing new and returning shows on the small screen. Don't be afraid to sprinkle in some favorites from the broadcast networks into your binge-watches every now and then.
Thankfully, so many TV shows have next-day streaming homes to make it easy for viewers to watch on their favorite streamer rather than tuning in on the night. Whether it's ABC shows, CBS shows, or NBC shows, they fit right in on your watch list. Fox has some great new episodes to watch, including a soon-departing veteran, a new medical drama, a new comedy, and a freshman procedural.

Scott Wolf’s role in the new Fox drama Doc has marked a homecoming for the veteran actor, who became a household name in the ’90s when he starred opposite Matthew Fox and Neve Campbell in the network’s drama Party of Five.
While talking up his latest gig opposite Molly Parker during an Austin TV Festival panel Tuesday, Wolf says he has come “full circle in an amazing way” by starring in a medical drama “that resonates the same way that [Party of Five did] with me.”
Based on a true story, Doc follows Dr. Amy Larsen (Parker), a brilliant but irascible surgeon who forgets the last eight years of her life after she was involved in a car accident. It premiered Jan. 7 on Fox.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Doc Season 1 Episode 4 “One Small Step.”] Richard (Scott Wolf) is not making it a secret that he’s nervous around Amy (Molly Parker) on Doc. She may have lost eight years of memories after a car accident, but at any moment, she can remember that she was investigating him for his actions with a patient who died. And now, Amy’s back at work, albeit on strict protocols, and Richard is keeping a very close eye on her. Take, for instance, his reaction upon seeing her talking to Dr. Franco from pathology, worried that Amy could find out about the autopsy report she ordered on the aforementioned patient. (Amy was asking if she performed an autopsy on her son who died. She hadn’t.) After, he emails Dr. Franco and tells her that since Amy’s not currently a licensed physician, any requests for information should be approved by him.

“Doc” flashed back to a pivotal tragedy in Dr. Amy Larsen’s elusive past, making room for a new beginning for her family.
Episode 4, titled “One Small Step,” followed as Amy (Molly Parker) — who works to learn more about her past after waking up from an accident having lost eight years of her memory — stumbled upon an old video clip that showed her icy treatment toward her then-husband Michael (Omar Metwally), filmed some time after the death of their son Danny. The video featured Amy sniping at Michael for an issue that came up during their daughter Katie’s birthday. After Michael called her out on her attitude, Amy lashed out saying nothing goes well in their lives unless she’s handling it herself. Gina (Amirah Vann) then stepped in, telling the couple to not argue during the birthday party.

Exclusive: Fox delivered its best series debut in five years with the launch of its new medical drama Doc.
The premiere episode has now amassed 15.6M cross-platform viewers in its first 11 days, according to the network, representing an impressive 609% increase over its live + same-day audience of 2.2M. It’s the most-watched debut telecast Fox has seen since 9-1-1: Lone Star.
In the first seven days after its January 7 debut, the episode drew 1.1M viewers across Hulu and Fox.com, which makes it the network’s best streaming performance for a debut telecast since The Floor last year. However, it seems that Doc is amassing a much larger audience overall than The Floor. As Deadline exclusively revealed at the time, The Floor‘s debut scored 4.4M cross-platform viewers in its first seven days.

It isn’t easy to return to the basics when you’ve been on top for so long.
Amy started her first day back at Westside during Doc Season 1 Episode 3, and it would’ve been silly of us to expect that there would be smooth sailing.
However, despite some bumps, she’s shown her compassionate and earnest approaches toward patients and healthcare amid flashbacks that may not have colored her in the best light.

The hospital politics in this series are enough to make a girl gnash her teeth, and given the fact that I’m battling a horrible toothache at the moment, it’s inadvisable.
Treating patients is the easiest part of the gig when others around don’t like you or have ulterior motives.

Underdog sports movies have slowly died down after they became such a huge sensation in the early 2000s. The reason, of course, is the narrative structure that said films follow. There’s always the hero’s journey somewhere in there while also being about the characters who shape the story for them. With time, the trope of this underdog became redundant, but few films every now and then were able to reconfigure or at least reaffirm why such stories are always important. They are rousing, relatable and inspiring. They give us hope in times when we find ourselves corned by our big ambitions. Ty Roberts’ “You Gotta Believe” is not one of those movies, though.
I mean, it does have all the usual tropes that you find in such films. It stars Luke Wilson and Greg Kinner as the co-coaches and dads of kids who are part of a little league baseball team.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Doc Season 1 Episode 2 “…Try, Try Again.”] As Amy (Molly Parker) continues to adjust to what her life has become, now that she doesn’t have memories of the last eight years of her life on Doc, those around her have to adapt as well. That includes Richard (Scott Wolf), now interim chief, especially as he worries about what Amy will start to remember. As was introduced in the series premiere, Amy had questions about Richard’s actions regarding a patient, Dixon. Then, she got into the car accident and lost her memories. Now, Richard worries about the autopsy report; if it shows metoprolol in the patient’s system, it could ruin his life. But to Amy, the two are still friends, something that hasn’t been part of their dynamic for a long time. Having this Amy around is “a very complicated thing for Richard,” Wolf tells TV Insider. Did I tell you all that I’m a character girl? Because I am, and thus far, Doc is doing a great job of putting the characters first and allowing all the medical plots to enhance the dynamic character exploration.
Again, Molly Parker is fantastic in this role, and she has such an incredibly difficult feat of capturing a multi-faceted Amy to such a degree that we can see and acknowledge her flaws and mishaps and still utterly adore her despite them.

For showrunners Hank Steinberg and Barbie Kligman, the prognosis is good. “Doc,” the Italian drama series that the pair have adapted for Fox and Sony Pictures Television, got off to a strong start this week.
The series, toplined by Molly Parker, blends medical procedural elements with a larger mystery around a hard-charging surgeon, Dr. Amy Larsen, who suffers from an eight-year gap in her memory after a traumatic brain injury. As she recovers, she gradually becomes aware of the massive life changes that were blocked by the memory loss, including the death of her son and the end of her marriage. The time frame of the storytelling shifts between 2016 to 2024 in ways that keeps viewers on their toes.

Doc had a big premiere, and its EP is answering the question of whether the central character will get back what she’s lost!
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for the series premiere of Doc
Based on an Italian show, Doc premiered on Fox on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The opening scenes establish Doctor Amy Larsen (Molly Parker) as a brilliant surgeon but also a cold woman who cuts down underlings and is carrying on an affair with a younger doctor, Jake (Jon Ecker). She also suspects her colleague Dr Richard Miller (Scott Wolf) botched a procedure that killed a patient.
What happened to Amy in Doc?
While driving home, Amy makes the mistake of looking at her phone for a test result and gets into a crash. When she wakes up in the hospital, she has retrograde amnesia and thinks it’s still 2016.

Medical dramas are a tried-and-true staple of network television and the question that always arises with every new iteration is how will this one be different from all of the others that have come before? Doc, the newest in the subgenre, has set itself out to be different enough to set itself apart but still has enough familiar staples to be somewhat safe.

From “Deadwood” to “House of Cards,” Molly Parker loves playing characters who are pushed toward transformation. The actress has been fearless in her pursuit of challenging roles from the start, playing a necrophiliac medical student in the independent film “Kissed” in 1996 and an escort in 2001’s “The Center of the World, for which she got an Independent Spirit Award nomination for best female lead.
She found her perfect Hollywood fit in television, with standout roles in various prestige dramas. Playing politician Jacqueline Sharp in the Netflix drama “House of Cards” landed her an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actress in a drama series.
In headlining the new Fox medical drama “Doc,” the actress found the perfect role to take on that performing challenge on the biggest stage of her career so far.

Meet Doctor Amy Larsen, a brilliant chief of internal medicine, who — after suffering a massive brain injury — is left with no memory of almost a decade of her life. “It’s a fantastic premise,” shares House of Cards’ Molly Parker, who stars as the formidable M.D. in the new series, which is inspired by true events. “It’s a procedural medical drama, obviously, and has all the elements that we love about that genre — high-stakes mystery illnesses, complicated relationships, and juicy workplace romances. But at its center is this incredible situation that this woman is in that would be completely unbelievable if it hadn’t actually happened.” Fox When Amy awakens to her new life, she’s shocked to learn that she’s divorced from her soulmate — plus she’s having a secret love affair with a younger resident and has become a woman she doesn’t even recognize. “She...

Mina Sundwall is only in the early stages of her career in movies and on television, but she's already accumulated a significant number of memorable and impressive performances. Born on October 23, 2001, Mina Sundwall got her career started early, appearing in an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories at the age of 11. This was followed by a two-year gap before she earned two more roles, in A Good Marriage and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Since then, Sundwall has regularly worked in film and TV, even starring in some of her projects.
Sundwall has had what is, in comparison to other actors who debuted in the 2010s, an unusually classical path to success. With streaming services offering new movies and TV shows at an almost unsustainable rate, young actors have found themselves thrust into the spotlight after only one or two performances.
