Days Of Our Lives June 10: Salem Says Goodbye to John Black, Part Two
Image
From Rachel not wanting to say goodbye to Grandpa John to Paul beautifully remembering the life of the father he only found out about as an adult. The Tuesday, June 10 episode of Days of Our Lives featured Salem saying goodbye to the superhero they all knew as John Black. It was emotional, heartbreaking, touching, and even funny. It perfectly paid homage to the man we’ve seen go through every single trial and tribulation known to man for the last forty years. Plus, Bo found out about John’s fate.

Goodbye, John Black

In Part 1 of this heartwrenching goodbye, Salem gathered to say goodbye to John. In Part Two, the funeral began, without Rachel (a wonderful Alice Halsey). Marlena (Deidre Hall) giving her John’s Mickey Mantle baseball card was everything. Ari (Marissa Reyes) and Tate (Leo Howard) ended up taking her home. Being at the funeral was too much for her.

Nancy McKeon, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Charlotte Rae, and Lisa Whelchel in The Facts of Life (1979)
Over the last 12 months, there was much TV news that made us happy — and plenty that made us so, so sad.

Among the headlines that broke our hearts: the deaths of many beloved television stars, which we’re reflecting on in our latest Year in Review photo gallery.

In 2018, we said goodbye to some small-screen legends, including The Facts of Life actress Charlotte Rae, Emmy winner Burt Reynolds, Laverne & Shirley star Penny Marshall and Days of Our Lives veterans Frank Parker and Peggy McCay.

Some of the year’s deaths were less high-profile, but nonetheless tragic — and we weren...

Peggy McCay Dies; Days of Our Lives Actress Was 90
Days of Our Lives fans and the daytime world in general suffered a second serious loss, as veteran actress Peggy McCay, best known as fiesty Caroline Brady, died at age 90 on October 7, 2018, just weeks after the actor who played her on-screen husband passed away.

The actress passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes.

McCay had played Caroline Brady, the role she was best known for, since February 7, 1983, when the Brady family was first introduced in Salem. Caroline was a loving, supportive mother who was also tough and strong and unafraid to stand up to the likes of Victor Kiriakis and Stefano Dimera.

In fact, Caroline had an affair with Victor that resulted in youngest son Bo. Bo learning about his true parentage as an adult was one of the biggest stories to hit Days in the late 1980s, and Caroline’s feelings for Victor never quite went away.

Emmy-winning actress Peggy McCay, who portrayed Caroline Brady on Days of Our Lives for more than three decades, died Sunday from natural causes. She was 90.

McCay’s longtime co-star, Deidre Hall, confirmed the news Tuesday on Facebook. “Our dearest Peggy McCay has left us,” Hall wrote. “She was a friend, an activist and a real scrapper! I remember meeting her at the bedside of a dear, very ill friend. I backed her up as she ferociously took on doctors and nurses to make sure he had the very best care. She fought that hard for all her causes. Passionate and tireless.

Days of Our Lives Round Table: Should Brady Forgive Eve?
Eric confronted Brady and then searched for Nicole, Brady learned Eve’s secret, and Ciara ditched Ben for Tripp on Days of Our Lives.

TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by UhSir and Kierstin from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate if Brady should forgive Eve, would they want Nicole to return to Salem, if Ciara is better with Ben or Tripp and if they’re enjoying this new Kristen Dimera.

Should Brady forgive Eve or break up with her for good?

UhSir: Brady should forgive Eve. I actually like them as a couple. If they would just be completely honest with each they could be quite interesting, whether they are doing good or something sneaky and undermining.

I wish this show would spend some time developing couples. Days desperately needs a few solid couples to bring stability to the show. Brady/Eve could do that.
