The 1985 Murder Mystery Jagged Edge Features Jeff Bridges at His Best

Because Jeff Bridges has so completely and successfully embraced the craggy old man persona over the past 20 years, as seen in the television series The Old Man, its easy to forget Bridges previous career as the handsome, open-faced, sandy-haired star of such films as The Last Picture Show, Starman, and Tron, among many others. However, while Bridges excelled in a wide variety of genres and roles throughout his earlier career, the basic cheerfulness and transparency of his younger screen persona made it difficult for audiences to see this version of Bridges as a villain. This changed with the 1985 thriller film Jagged Edge, in which Bridges plays a San Francisco newspaper publisher who is charged with the gory stabbing murder of Jacks socialite wife.

Motion Pictures Sound Editors Love "Avatar!" Sci-Fi Film Took Home Two Golden Reel Awards
"Avatar" won two trophies at the 57th annual Golden Reel Awards given by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (Mpse). James Cameron's game-changing sci-fi film took home Best Sound Editing of Music in a Feature Film award and Best Sound Effects and Foley in a Feature.

The Mpse also honored Steven Spielberg with its 2010 Filmmaker Award.

2009 Emmys Light on Horror Nominations
Despite being nominated for Best Drama and having its star Anna Paquin win Best Actress in a TV Drama at this year's Golden Globes, "True Blood" was shut out of the major categories for the 2009 Emmy Awards, which announced its nominees earlier today. But that's not to say it, and a few other genre-related shows, won't be showing up at the party.
