Dolly Parton has issued a statement about the passing of her long-time husband Carl Dean.

As previously reported, Dean died on March 3 at his home in Nashville at the age of 82. He and the country music legend had been married for over 60 years.

So very sad, the former news; and also so very impressive, the latter accomplishment.

“Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He is survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie,” the family wrote via Instagram.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.

Singer Elle King is facing criticism for her performance at the Grand Ole Opry last week.

The singer was slammed by fans for appearing to take the stage under the influence of alcohol. Several concertgoers captured her slurring her words, using coarse language and telling the audience she was” hammered” and then began to perform Parton’s 2001 song “Marry Me,” during which she appeared to forget the words.

The Grand Ole Opry issued an official apology. “We deeply regret and apologize for the language that was used during last night’s second Opry performance,” the statement read.

LeGrand Gold, a man with stage four colorectal cancer, got his dying wish to meet Dolly Parton.

In December, he received from Parton allowing him to have one of his ten dying wishes, which were written on a napkin, granted.

Gold has been battling cancer since 2021. In early December, he was given bad news during a doctor’s visit.

“The scans showed the cancer spreading and getting outside of my liver, and so they said the chemo is not working anymore, the radiation is not working anymore,” Gold told CNN. “They just sent me home and said be with your family.”

On December 25, Gold’s wife, Alice Wills Gold, posted a reel on Instagram showing a video of him speaking to Parton over the phone.

“And I forgot to tell you all that Papa G got to meet Dolly P! Wishes come true! Dream big, y’all,” Wills Gold wrote in the caption.

Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella Parton, defends her after critics slam Dolly’s cheerleader outfit.

Dolly performed during the NFL halftime show on Thanksgiving while the Dallas Cowboys played the Washington Commanders. She decided to wear a bedazzled Cowboys cheerleader costume, including a blue long-sleeved crop top, a white vest with blue stars and matching shorts.

Some fans expressed their disapproval of the outfit online.

Some folks weren’t as thankful as they should’ve been for Dolly Parton’s halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game last week. But her younger sister Stella Parton came to her defense in a scathing tweet Sunday (November 26th), calling out those who weren’t pleased with our recent cover star rocking a cheerleader costume.

Dolly Parton has paid tribute to the “wonderful talent” Loretta Lynn, following the country music icon’s death aged 90.

The family of the US artist shared a statement on social media announcing that Lynn had died at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on Tuesday 4 October.

Veteran country singer Parton said she considered Lynn her sister and that she would miss her “dearly”.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “So sorry to hear about my sister, friend Loretta.

“We’ve been like sisters all the years we’ve been in Nashville and she was a wonderful human being, wonderful talent, had millions of fans and I’m one of them. I miss her dearly as we all will. May she rest in peace”.

Parton’s sister and fellow singer Stella Parton also shared a tribute, writing from her Twitter account: “My heart is broken with the news of my sweet friend Loretta Lynn passing.

Following the news of Loretta Lynn’s death, tributes from celebrities and fellow musicians have begun pouring in.

It was reported on 4 October that the Kentucky coal miner’s daughter, whose songs about life and love as a woman in Appalachia, died that day at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, aged 90.

Reacting to the news, former CBS news anchor Katie Couric tweeted: “So sad to hear this.”

“My heart is broken with the news of my sweet friend Loretta Lynn passing,” commented Stella Parton, the older sister of Dolly Parton. “I will remember all the sweet visits and laughs we shared. Rip sweet Angel.”

Star Trek alum Gates McFadden added: “Farewell to Loretta Lynn whose voice and journey inspired me deeply.”

“Oh, my heart is sad to learn that Loretta Lynn has passed away at 90 years old. Sending our love and prayers to her family,” Grammy-winning bluegrass singer Rhonda Vincent shared.

The country club is coming together to mourn the passing of the legendary Loretta Lynn.

Lynn, 90, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Country stars came out en masse to honour the four-time Grammy winner who received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.

In a statement provided to The Associated Press, Lynn’s family said she died on Tuesday (4 October) at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Her cause of death has not been disclosed.
