Breaking Bad’s Most Beloved Character Only Exists Because Another Actor Was Unavailable
Image
This Breaking Bad Icon Was a Last-Minute Fix That Became TV Gold ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Breaking Bad gave television some of its most unforgettable characters but among them, Mike Ehrmantraut was not part of the original plan. He came into the story not because of some grand vision but because Bob Odenkirk could not make it to the set. His other gig on How I Met Your Mother clashed with the filming schedule and the writers needed someone to cover for Saul Goodman. As a result, they built Mike from scratch, which was a quick fix that became one of the show’s strongest pieces.

Mike Ehrmantraut Was Never Meant to Be a Main Character

Jonathan Banks took on the role and made Mike more than a stand-in. However, what was supposed to be a temporary part turned into something essential. His cold efficiency and calm presence clicked with fans and cast alike,...

Netflix Renews 'Long Story Short' Despite Season One Not Being Out Yet
Image
Show renewals are hard to get nowadays. Several factors influence a series' chances of growth. Many networks and streamers look for high audience viewership, how much the show gains traction in the media, especially on social apps, the financial side (how costly it is to make the show), etc. Whatever doesn't yield a return on its investment gets the "doomed" canceled tag. Yet, there are times a show hears the sweet sounds of renewal, even before season 1 becomes available. Netflixjust made the rare decision to renew Raphael Matthew Bob-Waksberg's upcoming animated comedy, Long Story Short, weeks before its users can stream the debut season.

It seems like the streamer believes it'll be love at first sight with Netflix users and the new animation, which is set to premiere on August 22, 2025. According to The Hollywood Reporter, season 1 will have 10 episodes, and they'll be thirty minutes long each. News of the...

Bryan Cranston Took Home $3.6 Million For Breaking Bad Season 5: But Season 1’s Budget Per Episode Was Shockingly Low!
Image
Breaking Bad Paid Bryan Cranston $3.6 Million In Season 5(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Over the years, the fandom of Breaking Bad has only grown. Starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul in the leads, the storyline of the series revolves around Walter White, a genius chemistry teacher who finds out he’s terminally ill and starts making meth to secure a better financial future for his family with Jesse Pinkman. While Bryan can be seen as White, Aaron played Pinkman in the television show.

Their onscreen camaraderie still gets appreciated by the fans. This show kind of changed both of their careers in a bigger perspective. Breaking Bad also stars Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, and others in important supporting roles. While the unique plot and the twists and turns of every season were enough to keep us on the edge of our seats, do you know with what budget it began?

What Was...

Aaron Paul's Forgotten Hulu Drama Caused A Ton Of Controversy
Image
Do you remember Jessica Goldberg's TV drama, "The Path," with Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan, and Hugh Dancy? Yeah, me neither. That's kind of the problem since I actually watched half of the Hulu series' first season back in 2016, but the only thing I can recall is that it was underwhelming, dull, and way too slow to hold my interest. It was meant to be the show that gave new life to Aaron Paul's career after he couldn't quite utilize the fame and praise "Breaking Bad" brought him over five years. Once Vince Gilligan's revolutionary masterpiece ended in 2013, Paul was offered a bunch of roles in various movies, but somehow none of those propelled him into the A-star category of actors who usually headlined features.

Maybe he just wasn't ready for it as much as his co-star and pal Bryan Cranston, who cashed in on his role of Walter...

This 96% Rotten Tomatoes Series Made Bob Odenkirk Realize He's an Actor [Exclusive]
Image
When fans think of Bob Odenkirk nowadays, the first thing, or character, rather, that comes to mind is likely the shady lawyer Saul Goodman. The actor first stepped into the shoes and flashy suits of the defense lawyer and professional con artist in Season 2 of Breaking Bad and never looked back, evolving into something much more than just the comedic relief character and constant confidant of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). The man whose real name is Jimmy McGill would eventually get his own television series in Better Call Saul, exploring the many layers of the character and his eventual downfall in a show that arguably rivaled its already legendary predecessor. Despite his powerhouse performance, however, Odenkirk never saw himself as an actor.

At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Odenkirk sat down with Steve Weintraub for Collider's Inside Hollywood panel, where he reflected on his career...

Robert Kirkman Finally Reveals Matthew Rhys’ ‘Invincible’ Role
Image
Matthew Rhys is officially voicing Dinosaurus in Invincible. Fans had been wondering who he was playing since his casting was first teased, and now Robert Kirkman has confirmed it.

Speaking during his panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the creator of the show shared that Rhys will be bringing the dangerous and unpredictable Dinosaurus to life in the upcoming season.

Rhys, known for The Americans and Perry Mason, had been announced as part of the voice cast last week when Prime Video revealed that Invincible was renewed for a fifth season.

That announcement came with a video of the cast learning the news. Fans were excited to see Rhys join the group but had no idea which character he’d be voicing, until now.

Dinosaurus is the destructive alter ego of Dr. David Anders. He believes he’s saving the world, but his solutions are deadly and extreme. Rhys will be...

Kirkman Reveals Which ‘Invincible’ Character Matthew Rhys Is Voicing
Image
Matthew Rhys is officially part of the Invincible universe. During his panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, series creator Robert Kirkman finally let fans in on a secret, Rhys is voicing Dinosaurus, a pretty wild and dangerous character in the story.

If you’ve been following the show, you’ll remember that just last week Prime Video announced Invincible is coming back for a fifth season. Season four is still on the way, but the renewal news was a big deal.

In the announcement video, the cast was surprised with the news, and fans spotted Rhys had joined the voice cast, but his character wasn’t revealed until now. Kirkman cleared that up at Sdcc, sharing that Rhys will play Dinosaurus, a separate personality of Dr. David Anders who believes in fixing the world… even if it means a lot of destruction.

Kirkman previously teased what’s coming in Season 4. If...

Months after the world gushed over Josh Hartnett’s casting in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Verity, the 47-year-old actor landed another gig in a similarly thrilling production. In May 2022, Hartnett was announced as the lead of an untitled Netflix limited series, marking the first cast member to be revealed. This new project is described as an eerie supernatural thriller set in Newfoundland, where it is currently being filmed.

As production is fully underway, fans can get a glimpse of Hartnett behind the scenes thanks to What’s on Netflix’s newly-released set photos, which were taken on July 19, per SplashNews. At the time, the actor was filming scenes in remote areas of Newfoundland, and as seen in the images, he was working on the deck of a boat named “High Hopes” with several crew members. This Underrated Horror Movie From 2009 Is Now A Streaming Hit On HBO Max
Image
Fans are finally discovering an underrated horror movie from 2009, as it has become a streaming hit on HBO Max, 16 years after its initial release. While the merits of streaming services remain a debatable topic of discussion, there is no doubt that they offer a unique opportunity for older movies that fans may have missed the first time around.

When it comes to streaming services like HBO Max, the approach is a bit different because it is a service owned by a studio that prioritizes its own releases above almost all others when adding titles to the platform. However, this specific horror movie is a Universal Pictures release, which makes its success on HBO Max more impressive.

The Breaking Bad Connection in Malcolm in the Middle That No One Remembers
Image
Breaking Bad’s dark and gripping storyline left us all in a daze, but it’s a good thing they added a hilarious alternate ending in the show’s DVD extras because it absolutely balanced out everything.

In the clip attached below, we see Bryan Cranston as Hal from Malcolm in the Middle waking up from a nightmare where he saw himself as Walter White from Breaking Bad. He funnily recalled how he saw a man who looked “like the guy from ‘The Shield’” referring to Dean Norris’ Hank Schrader and “a man child” referring to Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman.

This epic clip ended as the camera panned to the side and showed Heisenberg’s black pork pie hat. The question of ‘what if everything that happened in Breaking Bad was all just Hal’s dream’ has been a longstanding joke among the community, and it was great to see this come true.

15 Best Shows Like BoJack Horseman
Image
"BoJack Horseman," created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, may have talking animals and copious puns, but it's also a dark reflection of addiction and the pursuit of fame. The best "BoJack Horseman" episodes know how to masterfully maneuver between comedy and drama, and the show refuses to give its audience any easy answers. BoJack (Will Arnett) is not a good individual, as his self-destructive tendencies often cause him to push any friends he has away. This often gets juxtaposed with whatever silly adventure his roommate Todd (Aaron Paul) gets into, like joining an improv-based cult.

Fans likely tuned into "BoJack Horseman" expecting some silly cartoons revolving around a satirical Hollywood, but it was so much more than that, becoming one of the most profound shows of the 21st century. The show got six seasons to wrap up its story, but you may still feel a horse-shaped void in your heart. Fortunately, there...

Breaking Bad Star's Disturbing Horror Remake Finds Life on Streaming 16 Years After Leaving Critics Disappointed
Image
The Last House on the Left has entered HBO's streaming charts, drawing new audiences to the 2009 horror remake. The film is not for the squeamish, but fans of violent, explicit revenge movies will find it cathartic.

2009's The Last House on the Left is HBO's tenth most-streamed movie as of Jul. 18, per FlixPatrol this week. A remake of Wes Craven's 1972 revenge flick, The Last House on the Left followed the original's story beats; it also doubled down on the graphic violence. The film received mixed reviews but was a modest commercial success, grossing $46 million against a $15 million budget. It still ranks as one of the best horror remakes, despite its (gratuitous) depiction of torture and sexual violence.

Craven agreed to produce the remake if it improved on the original's pacing and scope. A bigger budget also allowed for more creative leeway, including bringing director Dennis Iliadis onboard. The film...

Before Her Legend Of Zelda Casting, Bo Bragason Starred In Another Video Game Movie
Image
As announced on July 16, the two lead actors for the upcoming live-action movie "The Legend of Zelda" have been cast. The title princess will be played by British actress Bo Bragason, and the heroic warrior Link will be played by the equally British Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Both actors are quite young and, to date, only have brief resumes. Ainsworth's highest-profile gig — at least the one that American readers would most readily recognize — was playing the voice of the lead character in Robert Zemeckis' live-action/CGI Disney remake of "Pinocchio. Bragason, meanwhile, has appeared mostly on-screen in her native England, boasting a small role in the Shudder-released 2021 horror film "Censor," which was about the notorious Video Nasties.

Wes Ball's "The Legend of Zelda" will, of course, be based on the video game first published by Nintendo in 1986. The games are fantasy epics about a sword-wielding paladin who traverses a fantasy...

5 Things That EA Needs To Focus On To Save The Need For Speed Franchise
Image
The glow that once illuminated the Need for Speed franchise no longer shines bright, and all that remains is a husk of a bygone era. With reports coming in of EA shelving the iconic franchise indefinitely, it’s evident that the series is no longer the crown jewel for the company that it used to be, which is a shame.

With no new Nfs titles on the horizon, it seems like there’s no tank in the series’ fuel, and EA’s full focus on Battlefield 6 further proves they’re in no hurry to hitch a new ride. However, the company could still bring the franchise back in all its glory if it focused on these 5 things, which could breathe new life into the Need for Speed series.

1. The Narrative

When you pick up a Need for Speed game, there’s a 100% chance that it’s for the cars and the gameplay,...

8 canceled sci-fi shows we’re still mad about
Image
It seems like we don't get as many complex and interesting science fiction shows as we used to, like creators are apprehensive about taking bold swings with potentially complex concepts (just look at how watered down 3 Body Problem wound up being on Netflix). And who can blame them when many of this past decade's best and most promising sci-fi shows have resulted in early cancellations?

To be fair, Apple TV+ is still trying to provide ample sci-fi series between Severance, Foundation, and Silo, but it would be nice if there were more high-profile options between the various streamers. It made me start thinking about the sci-fi shows of the past and the ones I still think about all the time, wishing they hadn't been canceled so soon.

Glenn Howerton Caught A Canon-Breaking Moment In It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia's Abbott Elementary Crossover
Image
The second half of the "Abbott Elementary"/"Always Sunny" crossover event is a lot of fun, but it almost had a moment that would've disappointed the more serious members of the fanbase. As Glenn Howerton (a co-creator of the show who plays Dennis) explained at a recent panel attended by /Film's own Bj Colangelo, the new episode nearly featured a moment that contradicted an established bit of "Always Sunny" canon.

"I caught something that doesn't make sense based on season 16," Howerton explained. "We don't know that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were in a show called 'Breaking Bad.' We refer to them as Malcolm in the Middle. And then [in this new episode], I'm [saying], 'Making the call I'm like f***ing Walter White over here."

The canon Howerton's referring to is laid out in "Celebrity Booze: The Ultimate Cash Grab." There, the gang tries to befriend Cranston and Paul, repeatedly referring to...

This Wachowski Sisters-Produced 26% Rotten Tomatoes Action Movie Is a Streaming Hit 16 Years Later
Image
There was a phase in the mid-2000s when the Wachowski sisters made the most of the clout that they had earned via their three Matrix movies, and produced a couple of genre films that might not have been green-lit otherwise. Both of those films — V for Vendettaand Ninja Assassin — were directed by their close collaborator, James McTeigue. Now, over 15 years after its theatrical run, Ninja Assassin has crept into the HBO streaming charts, where it's facing off against the blockbusters Sinners and A Minecraft Movie.

According to FlixPatrol, Ninja Assassin took the fifth spot on HBO on July 7. Originally released in 2009, Ninja Assassin had a mediocre run at the box office, grossing $60 million worldwide against a reported budget of $30 million. ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Star Rob McElhenney Has a Noble Cause to Change His Name, But Why His Kids Hate It?

Rob McElhenney is legally changing his name to Rob Mac, according to reports. The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor has reportedly signed the documents requesting the change of his surname to Mac (via THR). The legal move comes after the actor shared during an interview last month that he was going by the surname Mac.

McElhenney launched his multi-faceted entertainment company, More Better Industries, back in 2024. The company recently invested in soccer teams in Colombia and Mexico. As the actor takes his business beyond the borders of the United States, he feels that his name has been causing a lot of confusion in other places.

The Walking Dead: Dead City has been dethroned on AMC+ by a space horror film that flopped at the box office earlier this year. According to FlixPatrol's streaming charts, Ash, the directorial debut from musician Flying Lotus, has claimed the top spot on AMC+ in the United States, bumping the zombie spinoff down to second place after a 69-day run at number one.

Perhaps it's nostalgia among AMC viewers that attracts them to Ash. The film stars AMC and Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul alongside Eiza González in a story following an astronaut who awakens with no memory on a research station filled with its dead crew. Released theatrically on March 21, 2025, the sci-fi horror film grossed a measly $1.1 million worldwide despite featuring the Breaking Bad star, but is now finding its audience.

15 Best TV Shows Like Snowfall You Need To Watch Next
Image
One of FX's most compelling original series in recent years is "Snowfall," which aired for six seasons from 2017 to 2023. The show was led by Damson Idris and chronicled the rise of a black crime family in Los Angeles during the '80s crack cocaine epidemic. More than just focusing solely on the City of Angels, the narrative expanded to explore the CIA's involvement in Nicaragua at the time along with the Mexican drug cartel's activities. A show that improved across each subsequent season, "Snowfall" was another thrilling crime series from FX in a long successful string of them.

Although "Snowfall" has been off the air for several years now, there are a number of similar shows fans can watch to keep those thrills going. From depicting other families involved in drug trafficking to expansive crime sagas, there is no shortage of excellent series tonally reminiscent of FX's long-running hit.

Seth Meyers Peters Out Mid-Impression and Panics: ‘My Impression Battery’s Dead’ | Video
Image
As a former “SNL” cast member, Seth Meyers can usually put on a solid impression when he needs to. But on Monday night’s episode of “Late Night,” the NBC host petered out mid-impression, causing him to panic a bit.

The moment came as Meyers made fun of Donald Trump’s reaction to his own Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard testifying that there was no evidence of Iran building a nuclear weapon (Trump simply said “she’s wrong”). To the host’s ear, the president sounded similar to a character from “Sex and the City.”

“Trump reacts like Carrie when the others confront her about an affair,” Meyers joked. “‘I heard Big stopped by last night.’ ‘Who told you that? Steve? Well, Steve is wrong.’ ‘Oh gosh, Carrie. I mean, I could be wrong. I’m not trying to make trouble. I just thought I saw him go in your –.'”

Beyond The Sea: Josh Hartnett's Black Mirror Episode, Explained
Image
Season 6 of "Black Mirror" was an odd one. In a TV show that's typically about the not-too-distant future, season 6 brought viewers into the past. "Mazey Day" took place in the mid-2000s, "Loch Henry" in the '90s, and "Demon 79" in the late '70s. "Beyond the Sea" continued the backwards trend by taking place in an alternate version of 1969 -- one where NASA's gotten much further ahead in the space race.

The main two astronaut characters, Cliff Stanfield (Aaron Paul) and David Ross (Josh Hartnett), are living half their daily lives in a spaceship hundreds of thousands of miles away from Earth. For the other half of their lives, they use a machine that projects their consciousnesses back to Earth, where they're living inside robot clones (called replicas) that feel the same as their regular bodies.

This setup seems to be working out great, but then one of...

Dennis Iliadis' 2009 revenge film "The Last House on the Left" is about Mari (Sara Paxton), a young woman who, while hanging out with her friend Paige (Martha MacIsaac), is brutally kidnapped by a group of recently escaped prisoners. In revenge, the prisoners stab, sexually assault, and then shoot their captives.

Seeking shelter, the prisoners arrive at a local lake house ... not knowing that it belongs to Mari's parents (Tony Goldwyn and Monica Potter). Of course, it's only a matter of time before the latter duo figures out what's happening and discover what the prisoners did to Mari. Will the parents have the temerity and the wherewithal to apprehend or murder their daughter's attackers?

Real Reason Why ‘Bojack Horseman’ Was Canceled After Six Seasons
Image
When BoJack Horseman first arrived on Netflix, no one expected a dark animated comedy about a washed-up talking horse to become one of the most emotionally powerful shows on television. Because of this, it earned both critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. So, why did the streaming giant cancel it just as it reached its creative peak? The answer isn’t as simple as low ratings or poor reviews. So, let’s dive deeper to know the real story behind why BoJack Horseman ended after six unforgettable seasons.

Real Reason Malcolm in the Middle Nearly Gender-Swapped Jamie
Image
Malcolm in the Middle was an iconic sitcom that premiered in 2000, and millions of people became its fans. Surrounding the character of Frankie Muniz’s Malcolm, a bright and intelligent boy, the show revolved around his dysfunctional family and the shenanigans that they got up to.

However, it wasn’t your ordinary sitcom where the situations would create moments of absolute hilarity, it was a sitcom where characters had emotions and wholesome moments and showed each other the importance of a family, countless times.

Malcolm in the Middle was more than a sitcom

Let’s not forget, the show gave Bryan Cranston a chance, which made him famous and worthy enough to take on the role of Walter White in AMC’s Breaking Bad in the future. But more than that, Malcolm in the Middle had a lot of love to share with the world.

Yep, long before Jesse Pinkman shouted “Yeah, science!”, Paul auditioned to be part of the Wilkerson family chaos.

The role eventually went to actor Chris Masterson, but imagining Paul in that early-2000s sitcom world is wild. Here’s some tea about what went down.

Will Trent star Ramón Rodriguez just dropped a huge update on the future of his hit ABC procedural series. Will Trent first debuted on ABC at the beginning of 2023, and the show has released new seasons each of the last two years. To no one’s surprise, it was performing exceedingly well during its third season, and ABC decided to move forward with Season 4 before the end of Season 3. The network is also expecting Will Trent Season 4 to air before the end of this year, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it stuck with an early 2026 release date, similar to previous seasons. Jon Hamm’s ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ Season 2 Won’t Follow Bryan Cranston’s Breaking Bad Arc for a Good Reason
Image
Iconic actor Jon Hamm had been trying and trying to get better roles in shows for several years, but it didn’t do him any good. That was until the actor starred in the lead role as Don Draper in the iconic show Mad Men.

With skyrocketed fame, Jon Hamm continued to get better projects until he landed in the affluent Westmont Village in the show Your Friends & Neighbors. Always playing the anti-hero, Hamm’s role in this show is a negative person as well. However, it will not follow a Breaking Bad-like arc for season 2.

Jon Hamm will not go down the Walter White road

We all know that Bryan Cranston’s Walter White was a chemistry teacher who (to cure his cancer) became a meth cook and eventually created a whole drug empire alongside Aaron Paul’s Jessse Pinkman.
