Clayne Crawford is proving that the drama behind the scenes on Lethal Weapon might be more compelling than anything the Fox procedural could do onscreen.
In his first interview since being fired from the Warner Bros. TV-produced Fox drama, Crawford opened up about the events that led to his dismissal in a nearly two-hour podcast with longtime friend and Drinkin' Bros. host Ross Patterson.
In the expletive-riddled conversation, the actor starts by admitting that he believed the initial story about his bad behavior on set — which was published the day he started directing his first episode — would eventually blow ...

Clayne Crawford is speaking out about his firing from Fox’s Lethal Weapon reboot.
In an interview on the Drinkin’ Bros. podcast, Crawford, who played Riggs, talks with host Ross Patterson about the allegations that led to his ouster from the Fox series. Crawford says when the first news story of the allegations came out, he didn’t pay much attention, saying he believed it would all “blow over.”
In particular, he addresses two on-set incidents, one during a location shoot in a park during which he can be heard on tape shouting “Shut the f**k up” to the assistant director over noise issues on the set.
“I knew that they had those tapes, and they had been blackmailing me with that… anytime I had a problem with [Damon Wayans],” Crawford explains. (Crawford alleged Wayans’ refused to attend table reads or film in churches). “When the incident happened, I had to...

From RedBand.Ca, take another look @ the restricted 'red band' trailer from director Ross Patterson's indie horror/comedy feature "Range 15", produced in collaboration with apparel companies "Ranger Up" and "Article 15 Clothing", opening May 2016:
"...after a night of debauchery, five military buddies wake up in the drunk tank only to find out that while they were passed out in their cell, the 'zombie apocalypse' kicked off. Armed only with billy clubs and their military experience, they break out of prison and fight their way to their old base. Along the way, they pick up a whole lot of weapons, a couple of damsels in distress, and accidentally, the cure.
"Getting to the base, however, is only the beginning of their nightmare. Once there, their old boss, 'Colonel Holloway' informs them the only place that can synthesize the cure is 'Range 15', an isolated facility some 300 miles away,...

What do U.S. military veterans know about making movies? If the early success of the zombie comedy “Range 15” is any indication — kind of a lot, actually.
Billed as the first film to be produced by and star primarily U.S. military veterans, the movie claimed the Best Film Award at the GI Film Festival last month and has already generated more than $500,000 in its first week at the box office, showing on more than 550 screens through the crowdsourcing company Tugg, which lets individuals choose a film they want to pay to see in theaters. The film first hit theaters on Wednesday, June 15.

“Range” combines more than two dozen U.S. military vets with Hollywood actors William Shatner, Sean Astin, Keith David and Danny Trejo in a story about a zombie apocalypse that threatens to destroy the U.

Before Cards Against Humanity, we played Apples to Apples, and if you wanted to make that game any fun at all for someone over 10, you had to have an inside joke wild card. And of course the only good wild card that could win every time no matter what was Helen Keller. Her name has become more synonymous with a meme than with her actual life. And Pro Tip: Helen Keller and Anne Frank are two different people.
But Helen Keller remains so awesome, that this latest movie that you should absolutely give all your money to is so epic that the crazy wild Wtf name Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves cannot even do it justice.
Currently Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves has 16 days left in a $1 million Indiegogo campaign to complete post-production on the film. Directed by Ross Patterson, who wrote the tongue-in-cheek Western novel At Night She Cries While He Rides His Steed,...

Is Fdr: American Badass an insipid vacuum of filth, or is it high art of the most outlandish kind? Audiences will be divided, based on their tolerance for raunch, indignity and alternate history.
Like the film, Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury, Fdr is the creation of writer Ross Patterson and director Garrett Brawith, who both revel in working outside mainstream Hollywood, with its rigid concepts of what you "can" and "can't" do in a film. Fdr is part of a movement of independent features that break those "rules."
“They'll tell you over and over what you can and can't do,” says Brawith, “so I've stopped listening.”
“It's just a load of industry bullshit,” insists Patterson. "In Ted, they had a hooker shit on the floor, but Seth MacFarlane is massively successful so he can get away with it. If my name was as huge as his, I would be allowed...

Featuring Barry Bostwick, Ray Wise, Ross Patterson, Lin Shaye, Bruce McGill, Richard Riehle, Kevin Sorbo
The third collaboration between Ross Patterson and Garret Brawith is, if it is humanly possible, even better than their previous genius Pool Boy: Drowning out the Fury.
This is the kind of film that, like The Fp, and everything ever made by Chris Seaver, or Damon Packard, or the fine people at Everything is Terrible!, is its own brand of modern absurdist humor. And it is my favorite kind of story.
I usually get a mildly similar sense of joy out of only the most inane of The Asylum’s releases, but this is a feature-length full-blast of incredibly tasteless, and therefore heroically funny, humor. It also manages to have a cohesive storyline, developed characters, and in the end Franklin Delano Roosevelt still manages to maintain his...

Pitting historical figures against the dark and sinister creatures of the night is really nothing new. “Phantasm” director Don Coscarelli spearheaded the genre with his 2002 horror/comedy “Bubba Hotep”, a motion picture which finds Elvis (Bruce Campbell) and John F. Kennedy (Ossie Davis) battling an ancient, soul-sucking mummy inside the gloomy confines of an old folks home. Now, it would seem, everyone and their opportunistic mother-in-law is looking to get in on the act. Even “Wanted” mastermind Timur Bekmambetov has his own like-minded endeavor in the form of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, a film which comes complete with its own mockbuster from direct-to-video geniuses The Asylum. Shock of the year: I kind of dig these flicks, so until the bubble bursts, I’ll just relax and ride the wave. If the idea of a watching tall, lanky Abraham Lincoln lookalike battle legions of colonial bloodsuckers doesn’t sound like very much fun,...

In what seems to be a new cinematic trend of recasting former American presidents as twisted action heroes (we're looking at you, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"), the upcoming film "Fdr: American Badass!" imagines our nation's 32nd chief executive as a werewolf-battling brawler with a super-charged, bullet-spitting wheelchair. The film, directed by Garrett Brawith and written by Ross Patterson, stars Barry Bostwick as Fdr and, while it might not be the most historically accurate portrayal of Fdr ever presented, it is one of the more amusing portrayals. Filmmaking duo Ross Patterson and Garrett Brawith’s upcoming action/comedy “Fdr: American Badass” was recently acquired by the wise and honorable folks over at the Screen Media Films, which means the entire nation will have the opportunity to experience the flick later this year. When Saint James St. James tells you that something is going to change your life, you’d better believe him. Below you’ll find the trailer for writer Ross Patterson and director Garrett Brawith’s upcoming action farce “Fdr: American Badass!”, a motion picture crafted specifically for those individuals who always dreamed of watching Franklin Delano Roosevelt fight Nazi werewolves. Hey, if Abraham Lincoln can fight werewolves and zombies, Fdr should be able to fight lycans from his wheelchair. Personally, I’d love to see George Washington battle ravenous, blood-thirsty chupacabras during the brutal winter of 1777. We all have dreams. Before we get to the trailer, let’s insert this synopsis into our brains: In this throwback to the original 1966 Batman movie, Fdr rides a “wheelchair of death” to stop the world from werewolves who carry the polio virus, including werewolf versions of Hitler, Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito. So when I was given the opportunity to pick apart the genius of writer Ross Patterson — also known in certain circles as Saint James St. James — I felt it was my duty to the world to explore the inner workings of his mind. And if you haven’t seen “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury”, then you should stop what you’re doing and immediately atone for your sins. I know for a fact that it’s available on Netflix streaming here in the States. If you have a subscription, it would seem you have no reason to pass this one by. Plus: Kevin Sorbo and Mark Curry. That’s too fly. I’ve gotta know: What came first, Saint James St. James or Poolboy? That’s a lot like asking if David Hasselhoff or Dolph Lundgren came first.

This trailer has been out there for a couple of months but this was the first time I heard about it so it isn’t as widespread as you might think. If you have already seen it, watch it again. If you haven’t, get ready to watch it for the first time and then, probably, another couple of times just to figure out what the fuck is happening.
I tried searching for more information about this film and wasn’t able to find a solid date on when it’s coming out on DVD or to theaters, or any information at all. FearNET posted an exclusive interview with the writer Ross Patterson and a stationary website, but other than that, all you will find with a Google search is the posting of this trailer.

The idea of a zany mockumentary about competitive wiffleball seems rife for the comedy stylings of star-director combo Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talledega Nights). However, in this case, the subject was tackled not the by FunnyorDie.com founders but by one member of their stable of video short stars, Ross Patterson. He both wrote and stars in Screwball: The Ted Whitfield Story, and while it does contain many marks of that Ferrell-McKay borderline offensive and always bizarre humor, it also showcases a rusty hand that needs practice and perfection.
Screwball is in many ways a perfect B-movie comedy. It strikes the perfect balance between those Ferrell-McKay blockbusters (face it, that’s what those films have become) and an informal improvised shoot between a group of friends who really don’t know much about filmmaking but know how to be funny.

I recently caught up with writer Ross Patterson, the man responsible for the inspired profanity spewing from the mouth of Barry Bostwick in the title role of the upcoming Fdr: American Badass. ("Shit goblins!" is now in heavy rotation in my household.) So naturally I was curious as to some of the movie badasses that have inspired Patterson's work. After the jump, check out his top 5 picks. Ross Patterson told me that aside from Fdr himself, his top 5 movies badasses are: "1.) Patrick Swayze - Road House 2.) Sly Stallone - Rocky 4 3.) Val Kilmer - Tombstone 4.) Will Forte - MacGruber and 5.) Tommy Wiseau - The Room."...

We recently drew your attention to a little film with a big name -- Fdr: American Badass. A low-budget ringer in the historical horror mash-up craze (which has spawned the likes of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Fdr looks to mine all the lunacy that glossier Hollywood productions tend to ignore, starring Barry Bostwick as our 32nd President, leading a cast packed with genre stars. I just caught up with the film's writer, Ross Patterson, and asked him what it takes to balance the three H's: humor, horror, and history. Check out what Patterson had to say after the jump. At the risk of asking the obvious, how did Fdr: American Badass begin? It began in the 16th century, when a woman from the West Indies...

Don’t watch this trailer around your kids. Or your boss. (Unless they’re awesome.)
And don’t watch this if you believe the man who steered our nation out of the Great Depression, helped lead the Allies to victory over fascism in World War II, and strengthened America’s social safety net through Social Security deserves to be treated with only total, unwavering respect.
But if you like your history served with a hefty helping of crack, then by all means — enjoy this profanity and blood soaked trailer for Fdr: American Badass, starring Barry Bostwick as the man with...

This one has cult classic written all over it: capitalizing on the popularity of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a new entry in the history/horror mash-up genre now exists, and it's a doozy. Ponder this synopsis of Fdr: American Badass!: "The story of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the thirty-second President of the United States, a foul-mouthed, hardcore badass in a customized wheelchair of death, single-handedly battling Mussolini, Hirohito, and Hitler in their diabolical plan for global domination using polio-infected werewolves as weapons." Sounds a lot more exciting than signing the Social Security Act into law. Fdr, as played by Barry Bostwick (this ain't no Spin City), is indeed a very profane Potus in this counterfactual tale (as you can hear in the trailer). And that souped-up wheelchair does look pretty badass. Written by Ross Patterson, and directed by Garrett Brawith (the team that brought you the [...]...

Above we've discovered the trailer for Garrett Brawith's directorial debut Fdr: American Badass, which stars Barry Bostwick, Lin Shaye and Bruce McGill. The pic "follows Franklin D. Roosevelt (Bostwick) as a badass werewolf hunter tracking down the like of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito in his customized wheelchair of death. This isn't the Fdr you know, this guy's got lip, and will punch you in yours." Penned by lowbrow comedy writer Ross Patterson, shooting took place last December in Los Angeles. This feels like an attempt to cash in on the recent popularity of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

It's not a real 'lost' movie from 1990, that's just a neat gimmick to sell this flick. But it Is everything else of which I've ever dreamed.
Firt, Kevin Sorbo is in it. I Adore him. And you do too. Second, it is set in Van Nuys, California (think: the shitty part of Los Angeles) my humble home. And it's about Mexicans. If you make anything that is set in Van Nuys, it better have lots of fucking Mexicans in it because - gees. We have a lot of them here. They have great supermercados at which I can by plastic spoons con tamarind. Soy gringa, pero quiero tamarind.
Co-starring Danny Trejo, Jason Mewes, and Robert La Sardo, Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury was directed by Garrett Brawith and written by Ross Patterson (whoever they are). It doesn't matter who they are; they're geniuses. Their film isn't out yet, but I...

Here is a horror story; Kevin Sorbo is starring in a low brow comedy feature with Danny Trejo called Poolboy, or Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury. Camelot Entertainment Group has just released the trailer on this feature and in the clip lots of B move actors taking part. Also showing are Jason Mewes, Mark Curry and Robert Lasardo. Step into some craziness as Sorbo plays a man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, from his work cleaning pools.
The synopsis for the film is here:
"In this unearthed lost movie from 1990 that the studio deemed too terrible to release, a Vietnam Veteran Sal Bando (Sorbo), tortured by his past as a poolboy, returns home to Van Nuys, California, and a country he doesn't recognize, in which it seems only Mexicans run pool-cleaning companies. Bando sets off on a brutal mission to reclaim his "rightful" vocation and enact revenge on the man...

Following on the heels of popular "historical reimaginings" like Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter comes a new one that, if nothing else, has a great title. Fdr: American Badass. So what is the 32nd president hunting? Find out after the jump. Fdr will be hunting werewolves which apparently includes the likes of Hitler and Mussolini. Apparently he rolls in a "wheelchair of death." We like that. Script comes from writer and actor Ross Patterson (Screwball: The Ted Whitfield Story). Directing reins will be handled by actor Garrett Brawith (Diary of a Serial Killer) in his directorial debut. Filming is set to begin in Los Angeles next month. Frankly, I wouldn't...

No doubt looking to capitalize on the burgeoning trend of melding classic literature and historical figures with horror (i.e., Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), now America's 32nd President will be getting in on the monster fighting action in Fdr: American Badass.
Actor Garrett Brawith will make his directorial debut helming this rewriting of history from comedy writer Ross Patterson that sees Franklin Delano Roosevelt slaying werewolves, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito with his weaponized custom wheelchair. Shooting of Fdr: American Badass begins in December.
Makes you wonder where this trend will go next. Teddy Roosevelt hunting Sasquatch? Ben Franklin reimagined as Dr. Frankenstein? Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn rafting the Mississippi River fighting a Great White Shark? Billy the Kid vs. Dracula?
Oh, right, they've already done that last one.

'Billy Elliot,' Original London Cast, Decca BroadwayAfter a three-year wait, the London hit has reached New York and looks to repeat its effervescent success on Broadway. There will be no local cast recording, as the West End version is considered completely representative. Haydn Gwynne, imported for the New York production, is heard here, but the Billy — one of the initial three — is Liam Mower. The group number "Solidarity" is solid; so is "Expressing Yourself." The common wisdom has it that composer Elton John (Lee Hall is the lyricist) writes better when rocking, but he upends that canard on a bonus CD by turning "Electricity" into a superlative show tune.'The Gig,' Original York Theatre Company Cast, Jay RecordsThe musical comedy gods finally smile on Douglas J.
