The Ice Age franchise, worth billions of dollars, is over two decades old, having been in existence since the release of the first movie in 2002. Created by Michael J. Wilson, the franchise has faced its fair share of criticism over the years due to its scientific inaccuracies; however, it remains a favorite among lots of viewers who grew up with it and never miss the chance to revisit the adventures of the Herd. Luckily, a major streaming platform is providing fans with the opportunity to enjoy a few of the franchise’s productions starting next month, which will soon be the highlight of this summer for many, even though it’s unclear how long the icy treat will last.
Five productions in the Ice Age franchise will be available onHulu starting August 1, including the first four consecutive main installments, as well as a TV special. These include 2002's Ice Age,...

Chris Hemsworth will always be famous for playing Thor in the MCU, but one year after he first suited up as the God of Thunder, he starred in a critically panned action remake that has returned to streaming charts years later. Hemsworth stars alongside Josh Peck (Drake & Josh) and Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) in Red Dawn, the 2012 action remake following a group of teenagers who try to save their town from a group of soldiers. Red Dawn is currently streaming on HBO Max in the United States and on Prime Video globally, where it’s trending in the top 10 in countries such as the Dominican Republic. The film earned “Rotten” scores of 15% from critics and 50% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed only $50 million globally against a $65 million budget, making it a financial flop.
In addition to Hemsworth, Hutcherson, and Peck, Red Dawn also stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan...

Josh Peck has “no idea” how Drake & Josh producers got away with using Oprah Winfrey’s likeness during the crazy car crash scene because he claims the Nickelodeon show didn’t get “permission.”
The actor, who starred opposite Drake Bell in the mid-2000s sitcom, made a recent appearance on the Syd & Olivia Talk Sh*t podcast, where he opened up about the memorable “Josh Runs Into Oprah” episode in season four.
When asked how the show got away with the scene, which sees Josh’s character (who is known as the biggest Winfrey fan throughout the series) seemingly hit the talk show host, Peck responded, “I don’t know. I know we don’t have her permission. A hundred percent we don’t.”
The actor recalled using a “non-sanctioned Oprah double” to film the scene. “She was a stunt lady, because she had to do the roll over the car.

Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has revealed how he and his fellow child stars have been denied residual pay from the network. The actor and musician is popularly known for starring in big Nickelodeon hits, including The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh.
In a recent appearance on The Unplanned Podcast, Bell, who filed for bankruptcy in 2014, expressed his frustration over how major Hollywood corporations continue to make profits through syndication while he personally struggles financially.
There are three channels doing Drake & Josh marathons. Netflix just bought it, it’s top 10 on Netflix, and I gotta figure out how to pay my rent this month. And some fat cat with a cigar is just sitting up at the top of Viacom just going, ‘Isn’t it great?’ … It’s just like getting high on child labor.

Drake Bell and Josh Peck get “not a dime” of residuals money from their time starring on the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh, Bell said in a recent interview. “The perception of the world has always been this way. It’s like, you know, ‘Oh, you made a Folgers Coffee commercial. You must live in a mansion in Hollywood.’ Like, ‘I saw you on TV. You’re rich.’ That’s far from the case,” Bell said on The Unplanned Podcast in an episode shared earlier this month. “And especially, which is the bummer for most of us on Nickelodeon, we don’t get residuals for our shows.” Bell explained that residuals is how TV stars “make the majority of their money” and that the goal is to get a TV show to 100 episodes to make it syndication-friendly and to get those residuals paychecks coming in. “Each cast member of Friends,...

Emmy nominations are coming! It’s that time of year again, where the best talent in television is (hopefully) rewarded for all that hard work and excellence. Come Tuesday, the verdict will be in as the noms for the 77th Primetime Emmys are announced. But some of television’s best and brightest will definitely not be on the docket. Read on to find out why.
Of course, not everyone gets to take home the gold, and indeed, not everyone gets as far as a nomination, but some are left out of contention for reasons that have nothing to do with audience or critical appreciation or Television Academy voter preferences.
For example, last year, due to strike-affected delays and production timing, popular shows like The Bear Season 3, both parts of Bridgerton Season 3, House of the Dragon and The Boys were not eligible for nominations.

Rainn Wilson says The Office entered “a little bit chaotic” phase once Steve Carell walked away in 2011, recalling on the June 19 episode of Josh Peck and Ben Soffer’s Good Guys podcast that writers and actors scrambled to recalibrate a show suddenly without its “comic engine.” The Dwight Schrute actor stressed the turmoil was expected—Carell’s film résumé was exploding—yet still forced the team to hunt for a new tone and de-facto lead during seasons 8 and 9.
Viewers noticed. Average U.S. live audiences slipped from about 7.3 million in Carell’s final run to 5.3 million the following year, according to Nielsen figures compiled by fan archivists. He was a guest on the “Good Guys” podcast with Josh Peck and Ben Soffer, and said it wasn’t easy for the cast or the crew to keep the show going after Carell’s exit in 2011. Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute for all nine seasons, said it was a tough adjustment.
“When Steve left, then it was a little bit chaotic of trying to figure out the tone of the show and who’s the lead,” he said. “How are we telling these stories without, you know, the comic engine of the show, which is Michael Scott? That was also a struggle.”

Without a Paddle was maligned by critics who reviewed it at a 15% clip on Rotten Tomatoes, but fans were kinder to the film, giving it a 68% score on the aggregate site. Jerry Trainor had to go absolutely crazy, unsurprisingly, for his audition for Crazy Steve on Drake & Josh.
During a recent appearance at GalaxyCon, the actor recalled his audition that ultimately landed him his breakout role on the popular Nickelodeon show starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck. Trainor first appeared as the erratic employee at the local movie theater in season two, which aired in 2004.
“When I auditioned for Crazy Steve, it had already been cast. Somebody else was already cast as Crazy Steve,” he recalled. “But I guess when he got to the set, he was not crazy enough for them, and so they fired him.”
That’s when Trainor went in for a “rush audition” for the role. “You have to understand, I had just gotten out of college [at the University of California, Santa Barbara], majoring in theater, where they’re telling me to, like, tone it down, bring it in,...

Warning: Spoilers for Season 2 of The Last of Us ahead!
HBO has just revealed its Emmy submission categories for The Last of Us, fresh off of its second season finale. The big news: Pedro Pascal will once again compete for Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Now, anyone familiar with the most recent season's second episode knows how destructive a golf club can be and that Pascal could have run for Supporting Actor. The decision seems to be weighing his presence in the back half of the season, including a powerhouse performance in the penultimate episode, "The Price."
Also confirmed was the obvious placement of Bella Ramsey in Lead Actress, truer than ever this season.
Isabela Merced (who plays Dina), Young Mazino (Jesse), and Gabriel Luna (Tommy) will compete in their respective supporting categories.

What Time Does ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Episode 7 Release Tonight? (Streaming Details & Time Zones)
The road through Seattle has been long, brutal, and gripping indeed, but here we are, standing on the edge of The Last of Us Season 2 finale. Episode 7 is dropping a few hours from now, and if you’ve been keeping up with Ellie’s vengeance-fueled spiral (plus that emotional gut-punch of a flashback last week), you already know we’re heading into the storm.
Last week’s detour into Joel and Ellie’s past gave us a rare breather, and more tears than we were prepared for. But that peace is over. The season finale promises a return to the blood-soaked present, with Ellie still out for justice, limping through enemy territory, and maybe just one face-off away from finally confronting Abby again. Whether that ends in closure or chaos… well, HBO’s not exactly known for fairy tale endings.
Plus, the big question marks around Isaac and the Wlf’s next move,...

The following contains spoilers for The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 6, "The Price," now streaming on Max
HBO's latest guest appearance on The Last of Us was one Neil Druckmann wanted from the start. It featured an appearance from Tony Dalton.
"Tony Dalton was my first choice," Druckmann revealed to Entertainment Weekly following season 2's penultimate episode, which opened with the Better Call Saul star making a brief but memorable cameo as Joel's father. Dalton's performance as Lalo Salamanca on the Breaking Bad prequel was what convinced the showrunner and The Last of Us creator to cast him in this flashback, admitting, "I jokingly refer to him as the most charming, threatening man I've ever seen on television." The scene in question saw a young Joel confront his abusive father in order to protect Tommy from harm, only for Mr. Miller to reflect on the abuse he suffered at...

Chris Hemsworth's rise to stardom was just about as swift as it gets. Unless you're from Australia, you'd likely never seen the handsome young actor before he up and stole the opening scene of J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" in 2009. Two years later, he would become a global superstar as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thor. From there, it's been smooth sailing for the hotsy-totsy Aussie.
Interestingly, had it all gone according to schedule, "Thor" wouldn't have been Hemsworth's first starring role. In 2009, prior to the release of "Star Trek," Hemsworth was cast as the hunky, jockish Curt in Drew Goddard's "Cabin in the Woods." The hilarious genre mash-up was really more of an ensemble piece, but Hemsworth came on strong -- which was completely intentional given the character's surprising death early in the film. Had Goddard's movie been released as originally planned on February 5, 2010, Hemsworth's profile would've sharply ascended in Hollywood.

From The Amanda Show to Saturday Night Live, Taran Killam is reflecting on the sketch comedy pipeline that paved the way for his current career.
The actor and comedian recently praised Amanda Bynes as “one of the most talented people I’ve ever met,” expressing his gratitude for her helping launch his “grown-up acting career” when she cast him on her Nickelodeon variety show, which ran for three seasons from 1999 to 2002.
“It was my first job, literally the last week of high school I got cast on her show,” he recalled on the Fly on the Wall podcast. “We worked together for three weeks then. ‘The Last of Us’: Kaitlyn Dever will campaign as guest actress at the Emmys for Season 2 (exclusive)
One of this year’s great Emmy category mysteries has been solved. Gold Derby has learned exclusively that The Last of Us star Kaitlyn Dever will campaign in the Best Drama Guest Actress category at the Emmy Awards.
Dever could have picked the guest category or the Best Drama Supporting Actress field on the Emmys ballot, as she will ultimately appear in fewer than 50 percent of the Season 2 episodes.
A new addition to the series for Season 2, Dever plays the pivotal role of Abby, the character who takes revenge on Joel (Pedro Pascal) and kills him after Joel murdered her father at the end of Season 1. Dever has been widely praised for her complex performance, especially in the season’s second episode, when Abby confronts Joel over what he has done and gets her vengeance.

Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for The Last of Us season 2
The Last of Us season 2 started with a devastating blow to fans with one of the deuteragonists’ deaths and the infected horde battle at Jackson. Pedro Pascal’s short-lived tenure in this season was not something fans of the show were ready for, and fans of the game were frankly surprised his death happened so early.
After Pascal’s character Joel died, it’s pretty evident that the show has the potential to take a darker path, and it has, to a certain extent. The one thing that is putting both the show and its protagonist, Ellie, into complete darkness is Dina. Isabela Merced’s performance as Dina, especially in the latest episode as the two finally share an incredibly intimate moment, has been the heart of this season.

The Last of Us game series is widely considered to be one of the best action-adventure video game series of all time. The first game focused on survivors Joel and Ellie as they worked together to survive in a post-apocalyptic United States. The second game focuses on Ellie’s revenge as she sets out on a journey to bring justice for those she loves. The story of the two games has been adapted into a TV show, but unfortunately, the show didn’t exactly do a great job of retelling this beautiful story.
There are various reasons why The Last of Us TV series was not well-received by the fans. It starts with the poor casting choices, as many have pointed out that the actors look nothing like the characters they are playing. But it is not just the horrible casting choice; it is also the lazy writing and the lack of attention to detail.

Spoilers ahead for “The Last of Us” Season 2, Episode 4
There are few characters in “The Last of Us” franchise more mysterious than Isaac (played by Jeffrey Wright in the series). And now fans are finally learning more about this revolutionary leader and his complicated past.
If you need a refresher, Isaac is the leader of the Washington Liberation Front, also known as Wlf. Originally, the organization was one of many that emerged as a backlash to the government-run Fedra (Federal Disaster Response Agency), an organization that initially served to protect the American people before stripping away their rights as the apocalypse unfolded. But in “The Last of Us” Season 2, the hold Fedra has on the U.S. is loosening as more localized revolutionary groups have emerged. With Fedra all but eliminated in Seattle, Wlf is currently at war with the Seraphites, a religious sect that has no problem with violence.

HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ keeps surprising us with bold casting choices, and Season 2, Episode 4 delivers a jaw-dropping moment. Josh Peck, best known for his comedic role in ‘Drake & Josh,’ steps into the gritty post-apocalyptic world of the show. His brief appearance as a Fedra soldier named Janowitz is anything but lighthearted, leaving viewers stunned.
The episode opens with a flashback to 2018, set in Seattle’s quarantine zone, a chaotic place five years after the Cordyceps outbreak. Peck’s character rides in an armored truck with other Fedra soldiers, including Isaac Dixon, played by Jeffrey Wright. Janowitz is no hero. He’s a crass, unlikable soldier who brags about mistreating civilians, mockingly called ‘voters’ because they’ve lost all rights. His dark story about a fellow soldier’s brutal actions sets a grim tone, far from the goofy charm Peck brought to Nickelodeon.
This cameo isn’t just for shock value.

Josh, per Variety, appeared as “Janowitz, a Federal Disaster Response Agency soldier who bonded with his brothers-in-arms by telling them an expletive-ridden story about detaining ‘voters’ — the ironic Fedra nickname for Quarantine Zone residents who’ve had their rights stripped away.”

"The Last of Us" has leaned heavy on big-name cameos and guest roles since the start of season 1. Warning: The following post contains spoilers for The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 4, “Day One”
On Sunday’s episode of The Last of Us, fans of the television series finally got a chance to meet one of the game franchise’s key antagonists: Isaac Dixon, a former Fedra member who has become the leader of the Washington Liberation Front (Wlf). In the video game The Last of Us Part II and the television adaptation, Isaac is played by Emmy Award-winning actor and Oscar nominee Jeffrey Wright.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 4.] The Last of Us made way for a major character introduction as viewers met Wlf leader Isaac Dixon (Jeffrey Wright), but things kicked off with a bang in a 2018 flashback amid his defection from Fedra in Seattle, which included a cameo from Josh Peck. Yes, you read that right. The actor who stepped into the boots of a Fedra soldier was traveling in a van alongside Sergeant Dixon and others through the ravaged streets of Seattle in Episode 4’s opening scene. All the while, Peck’s soldier delivered a dark monologue about his treatment of the citizens whom he referred to as “voters.” When asked by a young recruit, Burton (played by The Gilded Age‘s Ben Ahlers), what that term meant, it was Isaac who chimed in to note that the nickname was born out of the reality that citizens no longer had...

After the cackles of laughter subside, the nervous new guy among the the caravan of douchebags dares to ask a question: Burton (played by “The Gilded Age’s” Ben Ahlers) wants to know why they keep calling citizens “voters.” Clearly annoyed that this kid isn’t appreciating the humor in his horrific story, Peck’s “thoughtless” storyteller brushes it off — “Because that’s what we fucking call them,...

The Last of Us is gripping, hard-hitting and gutting. But one thing it is not, or at least not often, is joyful. That’s why this week’s episode stands out. Ok, yeah, there’s a barely escaped clicker attack and torture in an industrial kitchen. But there’s also a beautiful acoustic cover and a long-brewing hookup, and both of those moments of light are sorely needed as Season 2 continues on its dark path.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The Last of Us” Season 2, Episode 4.
That was not a trick of the light, Josh Peck did in fact have a quick cameo in “The Last of Us.”
The actor appeared in a quick scene to open up Season 2, Episode 4 of the HBO adaptation. Like many people in the post-apocalyptic landscape of “The Last of Us,” the “Drake and Josh” alum is not long to survive but his appearance is likely to turn some heads and raise some eyebrows.
Here’s what you need to know about Peck’s cameo.
Who does Josh Peck play in “The Last of Us”
Peck is part of a flashback to 2018 and plays an unnamed Fedra soldier. He spends most of his screen time telling a crude story to the other members of his squad while riding in the back of a military vehicle. This isn’t just...

“The Last of Us” Season 2, Episode 4, titled “Day One,” begins 11 years in the past, though that is not initially clear. Having traveled with its young leads, Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Dina (Isabela Merced), to post-apocalyptic Seattle at the end of last week’s “The Path,” this Sunday’s episode gives viewers a brief taste of the city’s violent past and present. It opens in the back of a Fedra truck where a loud-mouthed soldier (a surprise Josh Peck) tells a crude story, which is eventually interrupted by another younger soldier, Burton (Ben Ahlers), who asks why Peck’s Fedra goon keeps calling Seattle’s citizens “voters.” Before Peck’s character can answer, the squad’s sergeant, Isaac Dixon (Jeffrey Wright), answers. “We took away their rights. Took away their right to vote and someone started calling them ‘voters’ to mock them,” Isaac bitterly explains.

The third episode of season 2 of The Last of Us was very emotional, showing the aftermath of Joel’s death. Dina and Ellie set out to Seattle to avenge Joel and kill Abby. We’re already seeing some differences from the game, such as the early introduction of the Seraphites. Now that we’re getting into the thick of the second game’s conflict, it’ll be interesting to see how the show continues to diverge from the game.

If you blinked, you might have missed Josh Peck adorned in Fedra gear from head to toe in the newest episode of The Last Us. The fourth episode of season 2 introduces audiences to new characters, including the leader of the Washington Liberation Front, Isaac, played by Jeffrey Wright. The battle between the Wolves and the ultra-religious Seraphites, or Scars, has reached a violent and horrific state, but where did it all begin? The flashback at the beginning of the episode provides a little insight, which is where Peck of Drake & Josh fame arrives.
Peck plays a mouthy, crass Fedra soldier who tells a lewd joke to other Fedra soldiers riding in the back of a vehicle in the Seattle Qz. Isaac just so happens to be the commanding officer of the group. Peck's joke prompts a new recruit to ask if they should be talking that way about "voters." As Isaac explains,...

It is difficult to imagine that the guy who brought a smile to a million faces was going through a tough time when the world was laughing. The entire world was shocked when the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV first aired.
For Drake Bell, the decision to come out with the story of how he was s*xually abused as a child actor wasn’t easy. And he wouldn’t have been able to do that had it not been for Josh Peck.
