The appearance of Napoleon in movies has resulted in everything from historical epics to love stories and fantasy epics to madcap comedies. Napoleon Bonaparte was the Emperor of France who earned this role thanks to his success as a military leader as he roared across Europe conquering several countries during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. His success was short-lived, as he ended up in exile, where he died six years after losing his position. As with many famed historical military and political leaders, Napoleon has been used in several movies.
His story, featuring his rise to power, incredible military success, and eventual fall from grace in France, has been told since the silent era of films and as recently as 2023 when Ridley Scott set his sights on telling his story. However, thanks to his diminutive size and the use of the term “Napoleonic complex,” he has also been used...

On December 22nd, 2006, filmmaker Shawn Levy (Free Guy) introduced audiences everywhere to the magical, hysterical and surprisingly educational world of Night at the Museum. Chronicling the exploits of Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), a down-on-his-luck inventor and single father, who takes a job as a night guard at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. It doesn't take long for Larry to discover that, thanks to a magical ancient Egyptian tablet, all the museum's exhibits come to life, leading him to form friendships with various historical figures like adventurous President Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Native American guide Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck), and educated Pharoah Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek).

Jedediah (Owen Wilson), Octavius (Steve Coogan), Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Attila The Hun (Patrick Gallagher), Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck) and the rest of the Museum of Natural History exhibits are back for Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, but the magical tablet that brings them to life at night is losing its powers. Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) doesn’t know how to restore it, but he thinks his father might. The problem is, his father is on display at London's British Museum so Larry’s (Ben Stiller) got no choice, but to cross the Atlantic to save his friends. With the new installment hitting theaters this weekend, I got the opportunity to meet my favorite actor from the Night at the Museum films, Crystal the Monkey who plays Dexter. After that, I decided it’d be cool to make some time to talk to director Shawn Levy, Wilson, Stiller and...

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb
Written by David Guion and Michael Handelman
Directed by Shawn Levy
USA/UK, 2014
Getting the band back together for one final gig is almost never a good idea. In the case of Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, however, there’s enough ingenuity and fun to justify the encore. Director Shawn Levy adds a few clever wrinkles and plenty of familiar callbacks as he sends his family franchise out with pomp and poignancy. The untimely death of Robin Williams also adds resonance to the film’s melancholy message that letting go is a necessary, painful fact of life.
It’s easy for critics to dismiss films like Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (Sott). When you’re three films into a franchise that’s fueled by a wafer-thin premise, you can feel bored and dissatisfied before the movie even begins.

20th Century Fox has released seven new Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb character posters. After saving the day (or night) at the Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian, security guard Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is off to the British Museum in London where he hopes to uncover more secrets about the mysterious tablet that brings the museum figures to life. These posters all find a way to incorporate "Night" into the tagline except the one featuring Attila the Hun. I like to think about the tagline copywriters burning the midnight oil, rolling up their shirt sleeves, chain smoking, crumpling up sheets of papers, and getting into shouting matches because they couldn't figure out how to make a play on words with "hun" and "night". Then they gave up and cried themselves to sleep. Hit the jump to check out the Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb character posters.

20th Century Fox has released a new Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb trailer, and if you liked the first two movies, you'll probably enjoy the third one because it looks like more of the same. After saving the day (or night) at the Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is off to the British Museum in London where he hopes to uncover more secrets about the mysterious tablet that brings the museum figures to life. I'm not sure if there's anything to truly distinguish this movie from the others, but perhaps there's not supposed to be. They changed the location, added some new characters (Dan Stevens gets in some good jokes as Sir Lancelot), and then reheated the premise. But when the first two movies make almost a billion dollars combined (worldwide), you don't really tinker with what you have. Hit the...

The "Night At The Museum" films have done right by 20th Century Fox as a franchise. Two movies in, the pair have grossed almost $1 billion worldwide. So far, the films, starring Ben Stiller and directed by Shawn Levy, have explored the Museum of Natural History and The Smithsonian, but in the third film, ‘Secret Of The Tomb,’ Stiller, Owen Wilson and his growing gang of historical figure friends venture outside for once. "We go to the British Museum in the second half of the movie because that is where the answers lie," Levy told USA Today. "We are out in London, on a double-decker bus, in Trafalgar Square. It's a juicy idea we haven't explored." For the plot of the third film, Stiller’s security guard protagonist and museum exhibits including Pharaoh Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek), Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher), Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck), Roman centurion Octavius...

Just to make sure you know exactly how many people have crowded into the starry cast of Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb, the poster includes as many of them as possible. Ben Stiller returns as Larry Daley, one of the few people that know the secret held within New York’s American Museum Of Natural History: there is a stone tablet from the time of the Pharaohs that brings all the exhibits to life and has caused him no end of trouble. But in his capacity as watchman of the building, he’s grown to be friends with many of the historical figures and other displays that magically start to move and speak at night, so when they discover the tablet is corroding, the quest is on to stop them all reverting to wax figures, stone statues and rigged collections of bones.Larry and some of the...

Last Thursday I headed down to Fox to check out over 30 minutes of footage from The Penguins of Madagascar and about 15 minutes of footage from Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Both films are due for release later this year so it was a chance to catch up on what to expect from the more family friendly side of Fox's upcoming slate. The seems quite confident when it comes to The Penguins of Madagascar given the amount of stuff we were shown, and they're not wrong to feel that way. The film opens in 3D on November 26th, and features the voices of Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Chris Knights, John Malkovich, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Jeong, Annett Mahendru, and Peter Stormare. Ben Stiller is back as museum security guard Larry Daley in the third installment of the Night at the Museum franchise. Once again, things are not looking good for the museum figures that come to life when the lights go out and only Larry can help save his friends.
The magic tablet that brings the museum to life is quickly losing its juice, so Larry packs up his museum posse – Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Pharaoh Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek), Scajawea (Mizuo Peck), Attilia the Hun (Patrick Gallagher),and pint-sized pals Jedidiah (Owen Wilson) and Octavius (Steve Coogan) –and the gang heads to the British Museum to parley with the tablet’s creator and Ahkmenrah’s pop (Ben Kingsley).
The gang also meets a new museum guard played by Rebel Wilson, the bravest of King Arthur’s knights, Sir Lancelot (Dan Stevens), and a caveman who shares more than a slight resemblance to Stiller’s Larry.

After saving the day (or night) at the Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is off to the British Museum in London where he hopes to uncover more secrets about the mysterious tablet that brings the museum figures to life. I've only seen bits and pieces of the previous two films so I can't speak to how this trailer stacks up to the rest of the franchise, but there are some genuinely funny bits throughout. Rebel Wilson looks to be a scene stealer as a British security guard, and there's an amusing running joke involving a caveman that looks exactly like Stiller. The British setting is also a smart move, as it should provide plenty of fresh opportunities for the series as a whole. The Museum franchise has always skewed younger,...

Just yesterday, we brought you new shots from Fox’s upcoming trilogy topper Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb, and now the first trailer for the December release has arrived, promising patient fans of the franchise (which last reared its head in theaters circa 2009) a fittingly spectacular and eventful finale.
This time around, night security guard Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) brings his motley crew of living exhibits to the British Museum in London when Ahkmenrah’s (Rami Malek) Golden Tablet begins to decay, threatening to end the magic that brings the exhibits to life each night. Teaming with Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Sacagewea (Mizuo Peck), Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher), Octavius (Steve Coogan) and Jedediah (Owen Wilson), Larry seeks out the counsel of a powerful pharaoh (Ben Kingsley), who created the tablet and is also Ahkmenrah’s father.

Five years after Battle of the Smithsonian (and eight years after the first Night at the Museum), Ben Stiller will be stepping back into the role of night security guard Larry Daley this December for Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, the third and final installment in the series. Today, we’ve got the first images for the threequel, which Fox has released ahead of the film’s first trailer debut later this week.
As the images show, Larry is rejoined in this third installment by living museum exhibits Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck), Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) and Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher), among others (expect big roles for Crystal the monkey, Owen Wilson’s Jedediah and Steve Coogan’s Octavius, as per usual). Additionally, Larry’s now-teenaged son Nick (Skyler Gisondo, replacing Jake Cherry) gets wrapped up in the action.

20th Century Fox has unveiled the first Night at the Museum 3 images from director Shawn Levy’s upcoming sequel. Officially titled Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, the third and final entry in the franchise takes the action to London’s British Museum and the city as a whole, where Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens brings the legendary Lancelot to life. Ben Stiller reprises his role as night watchman Larry Daley, and Robin Williams also returns as the bombastic Theodore Roosevelt. The previous sequel, Battle of the Smithsonian, raked in over $400 million at the worldwide box office, so the holiday debut for Secret of the Tomb should ensure solid business for the family film. With these new image debuts today, I imagine a premiere trailer should be on the way shortly. Hit the jump to take a look at the first images from Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.
