High Tension (2003) – The Best Scene
House II: The Second Story (1987)
After taking a look back at House II: The Second Story (a favorite of mine since childhood), House of 1000 Corpses (which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year), the awesomeness of Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight, the leg smashing in the Stephen King adaptation Misery, three separate moments from John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China, the “Jason vs. Tina” battle in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, the “all hell breaks loose” sequence from the start of Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake, the opening sequence of Pitch Black, and the “Burn” scene from The Crow, JoBlo’s own Lance Vlcek is continuing his The Best Scene video series with a look at a moment from genre regular Alexandre Aja‘s breakthrough film High Tension (watch it Here). To find out which scene Lance chose as the best, check out the video embedded above!

‘I Really Hate My Job’ DVD Review
Stars: Shirley Henderson, Neve Campbell, Anna Maxwell Martin, Alexandra Maria Lara, Oana Pellea, Danny Huston | Written by Jennifer Higgie | Directed by Oliver Parker

Jobs are strange things, we are often tied to them and if we are unlucky we hate them. You have to be lucky to truly love what you do, but what do you do if you hate it? Chances are you have to just soldier on and keep living the dream one day you’ll escape, even if it is just fantasy. I Really Hate My Job is the story of five women working in a restaurant who really do hate what they do and all have aspirations of living their dreams, if only they could put them into action.

When Alice (Shirley Henderson) arrives to work she finds she has to fill in for the chef who can’t make it in that day. With rejection...

Parker's 'Job' to bow at Transylvanian fest
Alexandra Maria Lara
LONDON -- British director Oliver Parker's new comedy "I Really Hate My Job" will make its international bow at the sixth annual Transylvanian International Film Festival in a nod to two of the film's leads, Bucharest-born Alexandra Maria Lara and Oana Pellea, the producers said Thursday.

London-based 3DD Prods. said that the Romanian world premiere will see Parker, who is currently shooting a remake of classic British comedy "St. Trinian's", introduce the film along with writer Jennifer Higgie, producer Andrew Higgie and the Romanian actresses.

Though still a young and relatively small event, the Transylvanian festival, founded by Romanian filmmaker and state television head Tudor Guirgui, has developed a reputation for innovation and style.

The Transylvanian festival runs June 1-10 in both its home venue, Cluj Napoca, and the historic city of Sibiu -- which the European Union has officially designated European Culture Capital 2007.

Parker's film will receive its North American premiere June 13 at the Seattle International Film Festival.
