If there was one thing that Supernatural always excelled at executing, it was meta comedy. From the early seasons, the series has been poking fun at anything it possibly could, transitioning from just humor to something more cleverly self-referential. Of course, John Lithgow wins the award for the best guest star on Dexter. It’s impossible to forget his menacing character The Trinity Killer. It follows the chief of police Del Harris as he takes on an investigation that finds the son of the woman he loves accused of murder. The American Rust cast includes Jeff Daniels, Maura Tierney, David Alvarez, Alex Neustaedter, Julie Mayorga, Mark Pellegrino, Rob Yang, and Kyle Beltran.

Now, Deadline confirms that Prime Video will not be moving forward with American Rust season 3, as the crime drama has been cancelled after two seasons.

Amazon Prime Video has opted not to move forward with a third season of the series, Variety has confirmed. Amazon had picked up a second season of the series after it was canceled at its original network home, Showtime, in January 2022. It was originally slated to air on Freevee before it was shifted to Prime Video. All 10 episodes of the second season dropped on March 28.

The first season of the show was based on the Philipp Meyer novel of the same name. Season 2 of “American Rust” was officially titled “American Rust: Broken Justice.” Jeff Daniels led the series along with Maura Tierney, David Alvarez, Alex Neustaedter, Julie Mayorga, Mark Pellegrino, Rob Yang, and Kyle Beltran. The show was revived for a second season by Amazon Freevee, but the show ended up moving to Prime Video, and season two was released on March 28th.

Beverly Hills Cop and Shrek star Eddie Murphy once voiced the beloved 70s cartoon crimefighter Hong Kong Phooey, and test footage from the ill-fated live-action adaptation of the iconic Hanna-Barbera series has now resurfaced. Murphy, who is no stranger to voicing animated characters thanks to the likes of Donkey and Mulans Mushu the dragon, was cast as the live action Hong Kong Phooey back in 2011, with the project intending to use the same technique as Sonic the Hedgehog, realizing a CGI character in the real-world.

Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and originally broadcast on ABC, Hong Kong Phooey took advantage of the huge popularity that martial arts, kung fu, and movies from Hong Kong saw during the 1970s in Hollywood. The live action outing would have been based on the cult classic cartoon series, which introduces audiences to a mild-mannered dog named Penrod "Penry" Pooch, who works as a janitor at the local police station.
