Season 4 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon begins filming in Spain
Image
AMC recently announced that season 3 of The Walking Dead’s European-based spin-off Daryl Dixon will hit our screens on September 7 and run for six weeks. The continuing adventures of Daryl and Carol as they cross Europe in an attempt to get home to the USA will begin in England before moving onto Spain, where the majority of the third season takes place.

And it seems Daryl and Carol aren’t making much progress in their journey, as filming began on the fourth season just this past Monday, still in Spain. Star and executive producer Norman Reedus posted a photo to his social media of pre-sunrise scenery, titling it “Day 1.”

Exclusive: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon director Daniel Percival talks "bioluminescent zombies" in season 2 finale
Image
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, The Book of Carol, was a terrific season of television. The revolution in France hit a boiling point, with Daryl (Norman Reedus), Isabelle and Laurent at the epicenter, while Carol (Melissa McBride) flew across the Atlantic with Ash in hopes of reuniting with Daryl.

Following the conclusion of the season, we caught up with director Daniel Percival, who helmed three episodes, including the epic finale. Percival also directed the reunion between two of the franchise's most beloved characters. We asked Percival to explain what makes Daryl and Carol's partnership so compelling for audiences. "[It is] not a conventional love story but a love story nonetheless," he said. "They have a 'run-into-a-burning-building' kind of love. A deep care and compassion for one another that goes way beyond any romantic relationship. They will protect each other no matter what."

Percival also explained the collaborative process between Reedus and McBride,...

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon stars tease apocalyptic Spain in season 3
Image
In the season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, both Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) fled France and ended up in England, where they meet a new survivor played by British comedian Stephen Merchant. But that's not their final destination; the bulk of season 3 is set in sunny Spain. And with the new location comes a new team of crew members working behind the scenes, offering us a new, never before seen angle on the zombie apocalypse.

Daryl Dixon season 3 is currently in the middle of production. The new season will premiere sometime in 2025. We don't know what awaits Daryl and Carol in Spain. The crew have been tight-lipped, as expected. When we asked director Daniel Percival what awaits us in Spain, we were simply told to "wait and see," which is totally a fair and expected response.

But on a more encouraging note, Norman Reedus...

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon filmed in a haunted set: "The crew swear they saw ghosts"
Image
The season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon had a little of everything, from Daryl singing to bioluminescent zombies in the eerie depths of the Channel Tunnel. It concluded The Book of Carol in an unexpected way, seeing both Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) head to England. But the journey is far from smooth, with the duo encountering a wholly new type of zombie.

After scurrying away from the post-apocalyptic French revolution, both Daryl and Carol found themselves heading to the relative sanctuary of England. While they don't know what awaits them there, it's sure to be a safer place than France, where the country was at war.

However, in order to cross the border, they must venture through the Eurostar tunnel, an old railway line fallen to disrepair after the apocalypse. Naturally, the walkers that lurk in the darkness have changed with their environment. Now they're bioluminescent messes,...

Twd: Daryl Dixon S2 Finale Leaves a Major Question About 1 Key Character Unanswered
Image
Quick Links Daryl Dixon Season 2 Had a Predictable Ending Laurent Has Been a Key Character From the Beginning Laurent's Appearance In Season 3 Seems Unlikely This Direction Is Leading to a Packed Reunion

This article contains spoilers for the finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2.

After the recent conclusion of Daryl Dixon Season 2, fans of the expansive horror franchise will have to wait until the second season of Dead City, set to be released in Spring 2025. Both of these spin-offs in The Walking Dead series have satisfied fans' need for the post-apocalyptic world to expand with fresh and exciting plots. However, the conclusion of this season of Daryl Dixon was not nearly as thrilling as viewers witnessed in the first season's finale, lessening the hype of the next installment.

Unfortunately, Daryl Dixon Season 2 continued the unpopular trope of killing off new characters, including Daryl's ally from the beginning,...

Could Future Seasons of 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' Expand Their Episode Count?
Image
The season finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 brings the spin-off's time in France to a close, at least for the time being. After Melissa McBride's Carol took the bold step of flying to Europe in search of her best friend. The final chapter in The Book of Carol is now written, and rather than leaving Daryl behind and heading back to the Commonwealth with Ash (Manish Dayal) and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), Carol will join her bestie, Daryl (Norman Reedus) for a trek across Europe in future seasons as they seek to return home. Director and executive producer Daniel Percival has discussed just how many episodes future seasons of the post-apocalyptic series will have.

Twd: Daryl Dixon Director Says to Stay Tuned to Discover Characters Fates
Image
The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 6, "Au Revoir Les Enfants," which premiered Sunday, Nov. 3 on AMC.

The Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon brings the franchise's time in France to a close, or at least, so it seems. Both symbolically and literally, the series is moving forward. As Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier move forward to another country, they also resolve personal grievances that have been keeping them in the past. Every sign points to a fresh start, one that may or may not have other established characters joining Daryl and Carol in a new fight.

When asked by Cbr whether Daryl and Carol leaving France alone means the end of other supporting characters, director and executive producer Daniel Percival stayed cryptic. While Season 3 is actively in production, very little can be said about what the future holds for anyone who...

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Finale Review - Neat Ending Gives Season 3 A Clean Slate
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 finale. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol has been a mostly solid follow-up to the first season, albeit with a story thats more contrived and at times messy. Season 2 does a lot in six episodes, leading to the overall flow feeling a bit rushed. The big moments, like the reunion of Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), do land with the emotional weight that such scenes deserve. This is thanks in large part to the performances of McBride and Reedus, who, along with a strong supporting cast, elevate their scenes even when the story stumbles.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 5 Review - The Show Suffers From Rushed Storytelling
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 5.

Last weeks episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol was a high point for the season. Though there was the tragedy of Isabelles (Clmence Posy) death, it was nicely counterbalanced by the reunion of Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride), plus some great action at both the Nest and later on in a charming French village. Genet (Anne Charrier) was also killed off and too soon, though she at least died in spectacular fashion. Episode 4 set a high bar, but sadly, episode 5, Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir, doesnt come close to matching it.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 3.The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 introduced some major developments in its last episode: Carol (Melissa McBride) arriving in France, Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Isabelle (Clmence Posy) cementing their relationship, and the idea Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) could be the key to a cure. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Scores High on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Daryl Dixon returned to screens in the new season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and reactions from critics on Rotten Tomatoes have been negatively more positive this time around. Confused? In an odd twist, the second season of the show, which now has an even longer title thanks to its "The Book of Carol" prefix, has vastly improved on the 70% Tomatometer score that Season 1 achieved, yet most reviews agree that the new seasons opener has not been as strong as its predecessor.

The Walking Dead spin-off series debuted its second season on Sunday night, bravely going up against Maxs new episode of The Penguin. While the new DC series has been gaining almost perfect reviews, Daryl Dixon had something to prove with its first new episode which it did by delivering an 89% Tomatometer score, a massive leap compared to Season 1. However, things are not quite that simple like they ever are.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Premiere Review - Exemplary Opener Smartly Tackles Carol's Pain

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 1.

Originally, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was conceived as a spinoff that would center on both Daryl and Carol, but due to some scheduling conflicts, Melissa McBride was only available to appear very briefly in season 1. This reworking ultimately worked in the shows favor, though, allowing the first season to focus solely on Daryl (Norman Reedus), using the stranger in a strange land trope to dig into his character. Now, season 2, aptly subtitled The Book of Carol, is able to give Carol its full attention.

The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon is Steaming on Netflix

Fans of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will have a chance to catch up on the series' first season ahead of Season 2's arrival in September. Thanks to a new deal AMC inked with Netflix to bring some of its shows to the platform, Season 1 of Daryl Dixon is just one of their many shows that fans will be able to binge. While Daryl Dixon lagged behind other recent spin-offs, Dead City and The Ones Who Live, the series is not going anywhere, with Season 3 in production and Season 4 expected to follow.

While all three Walking Dead spin-offs were well received, Daryl Dixon chalked up a 70% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, falling behind Dead City's 80% and The Ones Who Live's impressive 88%. However, what all the spin-offs proved beyond doubt is that The Walking Dead still has legs, and it will be shambling on for several years to come.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Timeline Clarified By Creator

Daryl Dixon season 2 picks up on the same day as season 1 concluded, only a few months after The Walking Dead ended.
