(August 27, 1993 - September 24, 1993) Played The Doctor in the BBC Radio 5 serial "Doctor Who: The Paradise of Death".

(1959 - 1977) Radio: Played various roles, but mainly "Chief Petty Officer Pertwee" in the BBC Radio program "The Navy Lark". When it came to an end, it was the longest-running comedy in British radio history, although that mantle has since been taken over by "Week Ending". The program was specifically built around Pertwee by scriptwriter Lawrie Wyman because he was such a talented character actor.

(1966) Stage: Appeared in Terence Frisby's "There's A Girl in My Soup," at the Globe Theatre in London, England, with Donald Sinden, Clive Francis and Jill Melford in the cast.

(1996) TV commercial (UK): Vodafone (in his "Doctor Who" velvet jacket; this was Jon's final filmed work).

Played a radio presenter in a cut scene from the 1970 Doctor Who story 'Inferno'. The cut was made as producer Barry Letts felt the voice was too recognizable of the man who was also playing the lead role of the Doctor. The scene survives as an extra feature on the DVD release and had been returned to the story for the earlier VHS version.

(2) Theatre owned and operated by Irving Berlin [who had no direct involvement in this production] and J.J. Shubert.

(1963) Stage: Appeared in Stephen Sondheim's musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," at the Strand Theatre in London, England, with Frankie Howerd and 'Kenneth Connor (I)' in the cast.

(2/3/64) Stage: Appard in Stephen Sondheim's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," in a Gala Performance (Gala Midnight Matinee in Aid of Oxfam) at the Strand Theatre in London, England, with Frankie Howerd, 'Kenneth Connor (I)', Robertson Hare, "Monsewer" Eddie Gray, Isla Blair and Leon Greene in the cast.

(October 12, 1964) Was the castaway on BBC Radio's "Desert Island Discs" show. His luxury item was a guitar, his chosen book was F.A. Hornibrook's "The Culture of the Abdomen: A Cure of Obesity and Constipation" and his selected record was Ray Charles's "Georgia on My Mind".

(August 11, 1970) Played Dominic Ford O'Hara in the "Without Due Care" episode of the BBC Radio 4 sitcom "Brothers in Law".
