Elena Petrova is a Soviet cinematographer of the studio "Soyuzmultfilm".
Petrova is the cinematographer of such famous animated films as Sportlandia (1958), It Was I Who Drew the Little Man (1960), The Fox, the Beaver and Others (1961), Funtik and Cucumbers (1961), Cipollino, the Onion Boy (1961), Big Troubles (1962), The Wild Swans (1962).
In 1935 she graduated short-term courses of press photographers at the Press House and joined the experimental studio named after Viktor Smirnov. Petrova was the operator of the Soyuzmultfilm studio (1936-1973). The first female operator of animated films in Russia, who was at the sources of the Soyuzmultfilm studio. After graduating from the course of photo correspondents, she was sent to the studio as an assistant cameraman. In the first 20 years of her work at the Soyuzmultfilm studio Elena Petrova worked with the legendary Nikolay Voinov. In 1957, after the death of Nikolay Vasilyevich, Elena Petrova was trusted in the same way as the main operator of the studio by Mikhail Druyan. In 1973, Elena Petrova retired and on this her career ended.
