The Jackal is bringing Bruce Willis' take on the iconic killer to a brand-new streaming home. The 1997 action thriller is now on Tubi.

The Jackal, starring Willis as the iconic assassin, has officially become a part of the free streaming platform's ever-expanding catalog of thrillers. The Jackal was quietly added to the Tubi library on April 1. Directed by Michael Caton-Jones from a screenplay written by Chuck Pfarrer, 1997's The Jackal was an updated feature film adaptation of author Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel, The Day of the Jackal.

The story follows Willis's Jackal, who is being hunted by Sidney Poitier's FBI Deputy Director Carter Preston, and Ira sniper Declan Joseph Mulqueen, played by Richard Gere, as he tries to kill a top-ranking U.S. government official. The film also features appearances by numerous fan-favorite actors, such as J. K. Simmons, Jack Black, Leslie Phillips, and Mathilda May.

Shirley Anne Field, the British leading lady who starred alongside Laurence Olivier in The Entertainer, Albert Finney in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, and Kenneth More in Man in the Moon — all in 1960 — has died. She was 87.

“It is with great sadness that we are sharing the news that Shirley Anne Field passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 10, surrounded by her family and friends,” a spokesperson announced.

“Shirley Anne will be greatly missed and remembered for her unbreakable spirit and her amazing legacy spanning more than five decades on stage and screen.”

For her first Hollywood film, Field passed up John Schlesinger’s A Kind of Loving to star opposite Steve McQueen and Robert Wagner in the World War II drama The War Lover (1962). It was a decision she would regret, she explained in a 2009 interview.

“I finally had a chance to go to Hollywood and become a worldwide name.

“Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” actor Paul Grant has passed away at age 56.

Grant, who played an Ewok in “Return of the Jedi” and a goblin in “Harry Potter And the Philosopher’s Stone”, was found collapsed outside King’s Cross Station in London, U.K. on Thursday, Sky News reported.

He was then pronounced dead at 3:49 a.m. local time Monday morning after being declared brain dead following his collapse.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

A Philadelphia native and a graduate of Long Island University, Goldman got his start as a booker for the William Goldman Theatre Company. The 75-year-old film director seemed to be referring to high-profile new films that are being released on streaming platforms and not theatres.

The news was announced by his family on Tuesday (8 November), who said that he died on Saturday 5 November after suffering from ill health.

Treacher made his debut on EastEnders in its very first episode in February 1985. He was one of the first actors to be cast in the soap and stayed in the role until Arthur’s death in 1996.

The company produced eight Harry Potter films between 2001 and 2011, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

In the years since the saga ended, Warner Bros has also produced three films in the spin-off franchise Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, also with Rowling on board.

However, amid underwhelming box office returns and controversy behind the scenes involving members of its cast, the franchise was seemingly abandoned after this year’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

During an investors’ call on Friday, Zaslav said (per The Hollywood Reporter) that the company was going to “focus on franchises” going forward.

With all the major films that elbow their way into their cinemas every year, there's bound to be some casualties among the big hits. And just like any other year, 2006 was dominated by the likes of Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, The Da Vinci Code and Ice Age: The Meltdown. London, Dec 23: British actor Leslie Phillips dropped his honeymoon plans after the doctors admitted him for a surgery to remove a growth in his nose.

The 89-year-old, who got married to social worker Zara Carr here Dec 20, is relieved after the doctors informed him that the lump was not malignant.

The former Carry On funnyman tied the knot with his fiancee, social worker Zara Carr, at a registry office in Mayfair Friday, in front of just two witnesses, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The two then celebrated the union with 40 friends and family for a blessing at a church near the star's home.

He proposed to his girlfriend following the death of his friend Peter O'Toole Dec 14.

"I realised I don't have much time and want to make the most of it. Zara is a wonderful woman, who not only looks good but has an amazing brain. I love her very much," said Phillips.

Phillips was previously married to Bond girl Angela.

The Queen was awarded an honorary BAFTA at a special ceremony at Windsor Castle yesterday (April 4).

Sir Kenneth Branagh presented the British monarch with her trophy, which is to recognise her support for the British film industry throughout her reign.

Christopher Nolan, Damian Lewis, George Lucas, James Nesbitt, Tom Hooper and Idris Elba were among the stars who attended the event.

Her Majesty received a Bafta!

This was not for her work with Danny Boyle and Daniel Craig – it was more in the way of a lifetime achievement award, for supporting British film over the 50-year span of her reign.

Of course, many great performers do not care to receive these long-service gongs in the absence of a recognition of any specific performance.

Director of British comedy films in the tradition of saucy seaside postcards

During the 1970s, British cinema produced dozens of sex comedies, of which the director Bob Kellett, who has died aged 84, was something of a master. Kellett's films superseded the Carry On series, whose innuendo had become smuttier and less funny, and predated the more vulgar Confessions movies. They were in the tradition of Donald McGill's saucy seaside postcards, which George Orwell had extolled as being "symptomatically important as a sort of saturnalia, a harmless rebellion against virtue".

Kellett, who was born in Lancaster, went to Bedford school, where he was captain of the rowing team. After school, he had various jobs, including growing and selling orchids, selling encyclopedias, and writing for an advertising agency, before entering the film industry in the early 50s. Veteran British actor Leslie Phillips is anticipating an "unusual" first Christmas without his wife Angela Scoular following her death earlier this year.
