Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial Testimony Gets Carnal & Violent As Paid Sex Partner Of Cassie Ventura Unveils What Went On Behind Closed Doors – Update
Image
Update, 4:25 Pm: “He was always sitting in a corner masturbating,” a paid chevalier servant of Cassie Ventura said of Sean Combs. The scene was a standing room only courtroom Monday afternoon on the first day of the man known as Diddy’s sex-trafficking trial.

Alternating between candor, conflict and sometimes confusion, former male stripper service manager Daniel Phillips went into graphic detail about the approximately two years he was paid thousands of dollars to have sex with Ventura in front of an increasingly Machiavellian and allegedly violent Combs. “He started directing us after the second session,” the often languid Phillips said of Combs of the carnal initiation with the couple in the Gramercy Park Hotel in 2012. He was told the appointment was for a bachelorette party.

Phillips said he at first he didn’t know the “beautiful woman” in red lingerie, heels and sunglasses who opened the door and...

X-Men star Michael Fassbender joins Mia Wasikowska in Jane Eyre
After his suitably magnetic performance in Matthew Vaughn's brilliant mutant prequel X-Men: First Class, rising star Michael Fassbender will next be seen in a new adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's literary classic Jane Eyre.

Mia Wasikowska, who recently starred in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, plays the title role in this new movie, released in cinemas on September 9. Also in the cast of the period drama are Jamie Bell and Judi Dench.

A UK trailer (below) and poster (above) have been released, along with a synopsis and cast and crew details.

Official synopsis:

In a bold new feature version of Jane Eyre, director Cary Joji Fukunaga (Sin Nombre) and screenwriter Moira Buffini (Tamara Drewe) infuse a contemporary immediacy into Charlotte Brontë's timeless, classic story.

Greenaid Fosters Johnny Appleseeds for the 21st-Centrury
A young duo in L.A. have created a clever urban hack, that encourages people to replant their neighborhoods.

If you live or work in a city, odds are, you passed a vacant lot or an ugly, barren strip of soil at some point today. Now imagine if that eyesore were transformed into a wild garden. But how?

Greenaid, a project by two recent grads of Otis College of Art and Design in L.A., Kim Karlsrud and Daniel Phillips, is a plan to distribute candy machines loaded with "seedbombs"--seeds packed in nuggets of nutrient clay, which anyone can then throw onto a strip of land. Within a week or so, up come green shoots.

The project, like countless other small-business ideas bubbling up around the country, might never have been born without the recession. Soon after graduation, Phillips was laid off from his job at an architecture firm...

Boxwish salutes the winners at last night's BAFTAs and Grammys
BAFTA was the buzz word last night as the top names from the British film industry gathered to give itself a big pat on the back. Now scheduled before the Oscars, the BAFTA film awards have seemingly increased in importance and there were surprises (Man on Wire as Outstanding British Film) and the expected love for the heavy-hitters (Kate Winslet as Best Actress, Mickey Rourke as Best Actor and Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire as best everything). However, there are certain categories that had our Boxwish ears pricking up, as did some at America’s prestigious Grammy awards which also rolled out the red carpet last night. We’re talking costumes, hair/ make-up and music. Lots of music.

At Boxwish we’re all about being inspired by movies and at last night’s BAFTAs there were three categories that neatly tied in with that philosophy. Looking to film fashions, Michael...

'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Ben Button' Lead BAFTA Nominees with 11 Followed By 'The Dark Knight'
The 2009 BAFTA Award nominees have been announced and Slumdog Millionaire, along with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, leads the way with 11 nominations with The Dark Knight close behind with nine. However, at the top of the pile it is immediately noticeable that The Dark Knight did not get a Best Film nomination as all the usual suspects are there, but The Reader is added to the pack as one of its five nominations. Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) is considered a lead actor at the BAFTAs and earns a nomination in the category while he is competing Stateside for a Supporting nom. I believe he is more of a lead actor than a supporting, but Fox Searchlight obviously sees the supporting category as the easier place to get him a nomination and has pushed him in the category as a result. Other than that, the usuals are there with Brad Pitt earning a nomination,...
