FRANK'S BIO

Frank Pinnock attended Queens College in Flushing New York where he majored in Communications Arts & Media. The Communications program at Queens consisted of Film, TV and a radio department which was Frank's first love, however when the radio station fell on hard times due to budgetary constrains Frank had to rethink his career path and being the ever creative dreamer he was now in search of a new challenge. That challenge would present itself in the spring of 1986 in the form of a Photography course given as part of the Liberal Arts curriculum at Queens. This proved to be the genesis for a career path that would take shape immediately. The diverse backdrop of New York City was a perfect testing ground for Frank to hone his skills as a photographer. The various Obstacles, unpredictable weather and the fast pace environment of the city was enough to toughen up anyone striving to become a photographer and that's exactly the tools that Frank used to shape not only his photographic skills but it also led him into another level of photography, Cinematography. With Cinematography the world of Filmmaking opened Frank's eyes as wide as the aperture on a camera lenses and in 1990 he enrolled at NYU's Film School (TISCH). Equipped with the knowledge and experience gained as a photographer and a cinematographer, Frank made the big move to Hollywood, California in the fall of 1993 where he immediately show off his skills as an Onset Photographer, a position that would put him at the center stage of all the actions on a movie set. The intimate and creative aspects of being an onset photographer led him to the ultimate crew position that of a First Assistant Director where he the opportunity to work with Industry veterans and powerhouses such as Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo), Michael Cain (The Dark Knight, Get Carter), Billy Dee Williams (Return Of the Jedi, Batman) and Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now, Wall Street). In February 2000 Frank was given the opportunity he'd sought so long as Director when Rudy Ray Moore aka Dolemite (A Blaxploitation Cult Hero) hired him to helm "Return of Dolemite" the film would introduce the 70's comic icon to a whole new audience effectively revitalizing his career. Frank went on to not only direct but expanding into producing various Independent films and Television Projects all over the US in cities such as New Orleans, New York, Atlanta and Chicago. In 2007 he Co-Directed and Produce the acclaimed Documentary "Business As Usual" "the Exploitation of Hip Hop" featuring musicians such as Kanye West, E-40, Jay King and Bobby Brown narrated by Mekhi Phiffer (8 Miles, ER). With his extensive background and knowledge in the industry, Frank Pinnock's objectives are to revitalize the independent Film & Television Industry by creating, supporting and collaborating with past, current and future filmmakers in order to make it a more equal playing field for filmmakers and all artist to work synergistically and harmoniously under one roof. This is evident in Pinnock's current project, "Sangre Negra" a television series that combines the underworld violence of "The Sopranos" with that of the nighttime Soap Opera "Dallas". The show pits two opposing family against each other, The Santos family headed by Guillermo Santos (Erik Estrada) against the Sabatini's with Vincenzo Sabatini as the head of a powerful West Coast crime family played by veteran actor(Robert Miano). The Story predominantly centers around the doings of the three Santos brothers Guillermo Jr.(Ricardo Herranz)Ricky(Antonio Mckay) & Christian (Danny Arroyo). The conflicting lifestyles of the brothers are an ongoing struggle between good and evil, this is evident throughout the series, which also pulls us into the world of politics, wealth and beautiful women. The Santos family members are an extremely polarizing especially Ricky who's ex fiancé is involved with his younger brother Christian. The show boasts a myriad of twist and turns amongst characters that will take you on a dangerous and unpredictable ride while entertaining. "Sangre Negra" "BRACE YOURSELF".
