Screen Media lands Spanish 'Whore'
NEW YORK -- Indie banner Screen Media Films has acquired Whore (Yo Puta), starring Daryl Hannah, Denise Richards and Joaquim de Almeida. The film, from Spain's Delores Pictures, will make its premiere in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival on May 7 and will be released in September. Based on a novel by Isabel Pisano, the film was directed by Maria "Luna" Lidon and adapted by Adela Ibanez and Pisano. The deal was brokered by Screen Media topper Robert Baruc and sales and marketing head Suzanne Blech, with Whore producer Jose Magan.
