Born in Athens, Greece in 1965, Nikos studied piano and advanced music theory at the National Conservatory of Athens; he pursued composition studies at the Music Academies of Hannover and Cologne with Hans Werner Henze, as well as postgraduate studies at the Studio for Electronic Music in Cologne.
As an internationally recognized and award winning composer, Nikos has created soundtracks for over 30 European films, as well as composed and arranged for theater, symphonic concerts and commercials.
He has collaborated with Manos Hadjidakis creating arrangements for symphonic orchestra, commissioned and performed by The Orchestra of Colours (Matomenos Gamos based on Lorca's Blood Wedding; Nino Rota Song Circle, soundtracks) and with Mikis Theodorakis (symphonic arrangement of his works Epifania Averof, Reqviem, and many of his songs).
Nikos's symphonic compositions have been performed and recorded by well known European ensembles: Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Czech Symphony Orchestra, and The Cologne Studio Orchestra, to name a few. In Greece, he has presented his work at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and Megaron-The Athens Concert Hall, performed by The Orchestra of Colours, Italian orchestra "Divertimento Ensemble", The ERT National Symphony Orchestra, The ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra, The Camerata and MOUSA.
His personal discography includes nine albums internationally released, in collaboration with acclaimed performers such as George Dalaras, Maria Farantouri, Eleftheria Arvanitaki and many more renowned musicians and singers.
