Robert Plunket in After Hours (1985)
Robert Plunkett is best remembered as the timid gay guy who picks up Griffin Dunne's character in Martin Scorsese's film After Hours (1985). Dunne, as the lost and clueless Paul Hackett, is wandering through New York at night and dealing with all sorts of problems and strange, dangerous characters. But the one hilariously played by Plunkett is possibly one of the most reliable and quiet ones. Hackett only wants to use the other man's phone to ask for help while the helpful soft guy is simply trying to have a nice companion for the night. It's a small role but one that makes of Plunkett one of the most memorable faces and voices from the film, which also stars Rosanna Arquette, Teri Garr, Bronson Pinchot and John Heard.

After the film, he'd only return to write and act in Insomnia (1994) and a minor role in Autumn in New York (2000), alongside Winona Ryder and Richard Gere.
