How Grey’s Anatomy Went From Critical Success To Fan Favorite
Image
Grey’s Anatomy was recently renewed for a season 20, and while it remains popular, it’s been over a decade since it received any attention from major awards bodies. Grey’s Anatomy premiered in 2005 and was an instant hit for ABC. Now, it’s the network’s longest-scripted primetime television series, but it is no longer considered a critical success in the way it once was in its early days. Grey’s Anatomy has nearly 40 Emmy nominations, but the last one – Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Loretta Devine (Adele Webber) – came in 2012 for a season 8 episode.

Grey’s Anatomy has been generally well-received by critics and audiences throughout its run and even spawned multiple spinoffs, but has been ignored by the major awards bodies for over half of said run. By the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 19, the series will have aired 420 episodes, marking yet another big milestone for the medical drama.

‘Cobra’: Jane Horrocks Joining Season 3 Of Sky Thriller Drama Series
Image
Bloods star Jane Horrocks is joining the cast of another Sky original in the UK.

She has been cast in the third season of explosive political drama series Cobra, playing populist Defence Secretary Victoria Dalton in the UK government, opposite Robert Carlyle’s returning Prime Minister Robert Sutherland and his Chief of Staff, Anna Marshall (Victoria Hamilton).

Horrocks, also known for BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous, has most recently been appearing opposite Samson Kayo in Sky paramedics comedy Bloods.

The latest six-part season of Cobra is titled Rebellion and will follow the aftermath of an unforeseen environmental disaster that reveals itself as a crisis of corruption in the arms industry and the rise of shadowy corporate security firms, challenging Sutherland to decide what he is willing to sacrifice to stay in power.

Production has begun ahead of a 2023 debut on Sky Max and streamer Now in the UK.

'Grey's Anatomy': Ranking the show's most memorable exits
Full Disclosure (2001)
Here’s what we know: In two days, Grey’s Anatomy fans will be forced to say goodbye to Cristina Yang. But what we don’t know is exactly how her exit will play out. Will Grey’s pull a George and decide to kill her? Will she simply walk away from the hospital like Erica Hahn did years ago?

Although we can’t answer those questions, we are preparing for Cristina’s exit in other ways. And today, we’ve ranked some of Grey’s Anatomy’s most memorable exits. But before we start talking about what makes an exit “good” or “bad,...

Take Flight
Like so many working actors, Elizabeth Reaser has endured her share of maddening pilot seasons. "Oh my God, it was just insane: pounding the pavement, going on a gazillion really bad auditions, and just being humiliated day in and day out and never even getting a test or a callback or anything," she recalls. "Just complete desperation followed by despair. It was years of that." Things went a little differently this time around. Fresh off her Emmy- and Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated turn as troubled Grey's Anatomy amnesiac Ava/Rebecca Pope, Reaser landed the lead role in CBS's buzzy new series The Ex List. And yet she doesn't feel all that removed from the crushing lows of previous years. "I don't feel like, 'Oh, cool, I'm here, it's done,' " she says. At least two of this season's other potential breakout stars also can't quite believe they've come so far.
