Jennie Garth Says She Regrets Participating in ‘90210’: “I Didn’t Know How to Say No Then”
Luke Perry and Jennie Garth
Jennie Garth, star of Beverly Hills, 90210, actually didn’t love returning for The CW’s reboot years later.

The actress, who reprised her role as Kelly Taylor in 90210, which ran from 2008 to 2013, shared that she regretted participating in the remake during a recent panel at ’90s Con in Florida. “I wish I hadn’t done it. No offense to them,” she said, via People.

“The producer was a friend of a friend, and I remember he came over in my living room, sat me down, [billed it as] this chance of a lifetime. He asked me to do it and I didn’t know how to say no then,” Garth added. “But the people were very nice and all the best to them.”

Garth, Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling were the only original actors to return for 90210, which starred Shenae Grimes-Beech and AnnaLynne McCord and followed wealthy kids at West Beverly Hills High School.

‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ Stars Mourn Shannen Doherty
Image
Following the news that Shannen Doherty died on Saturday after a nine-year cancer battle at age 53, her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars are paying tribute to their late friend on social media.

The 1988 cult classic Heathers gave Doherty her first major role. But it was 90210 that turned her into a star. She was cast on Aaron Spelling’s teen drama in 1990 as Brenda Walsh and remained on the show until 1994.

While friction with her castmates amid her divorce from Ashley Hamilton is partially what caused her exit from the series, her former co-stars detailed their decades-long friendship with Doherty following her passing, shedding light into their dynamic with the actress during her final years.

Jennie Garth described her late friend as “one of the strongest people I have ever known.” She also detailed how strong their bond was despite the fan and media-created rivalry between them during the show. “We...

“I am absolutely heartbroken over the passing of Shannen Doherty,” Munn wrote in an Instagram Story on Sunday morning. Earlier this year, Munn shared she was a breast cancer survivor, and had undergone a double mastectomy. This weekend, the actress wrote that she had grown close with Doherty, connecting over their shared experience.

Image
Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling have paid tribute to their former co-star Shannen Doherty after news broke of her death Saturday at age 53 following a long battle with cancer.

Garth posted a photo of the two of them together years ago. It looks like it was likely taken when both were starring together on Beverly Hills, 90210, in the 1990s, or around that time.

Along with the photo, Garth wrote: “I am still processing my tremendous grief over the loss of my long time friend Shannen, the woman I have often described as one of the strongest people I have ever known. Our connection was real and honest.”

Why Luke Perry Left Beverly Hills, 90210 (& Why He Came Back)
Image
Luke Perry left Beverly Hills, 90210 to seek more mature roles after playing Dylan McKay for five full seasons. Perry returned to the show in season 9 after those roles failed to come to fruition. If he hadn't returned to the show and made peace with Dylan, he might not have had the career that he did.

There are very specific reasons for Luke Perry's Beverly Hills, 90210 exit and his subsequent return just three years later. Perry starred in the long-running teen drama, which lasted for ten seasons between 1990 and 2000, as Dylan McKay, the brooding bad boy with a heart of gold. Of the eleven members of the main cast that debuted in season 1, Luke Perry was the sixth to leave the show when he exited midway through season 6 in 1995.

This came after the departure of Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members Douglas Emerson (Scott) in season 2 and Shannen Doherty (Brenda...

Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth Discuss Shannen Doherty’s Beverly Hills, 90210 Exit: ‘It Would Have Been Really Nice To Have Brenda Come Back'
Image
During a recent episode of the rewatch podcast 90210Mg, hosts Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling opened up about Shannen Doherty's exit from Beverly Hills, 90210. When the hit series premiered in 1990, Doherty portrayed Brenda Walsh, a teenager relocating with her twin brother Brandon (portrayed by Brandon Walsh) and parents (James Eckhouse and Carol Potter), from Minnesota to the affluent zip code; Garth and Spelling starred as best friends Kelly Taylor and Donna Martin. Following poor ratings during its first season, the series gained momentum after Fox aired a summer season. Beverly Hills, 90210 went on to become a huge success for the network, and catapulted much of its cast, including Doherty, Spelling, Garth, Luke Perry and Jason Priestley, into super stardom.

Despite the show's success, all was not well behind the scenes, and rumors of issues between Doherty and other cast members (mostly Garth), circulated. Despite Doherty's reputation off-screen,...

10 Actors From Beverly Hills, 90210 We Want to See In Season 2 of BH90210 (If There Is One)
In meta series BH90210, the main cast from the original series Beverly Hills, 90210 play exaggerated versions of themselves trying to get a reboot of the show off the ground. The first season, which consisted of just six episodes, has left viewers anxious to find out if a second season will be underway.

Along with all main cast members, with the exception of the tragically-departed Luke Perry, several other former stars and guest stars from the original show have made appearances. First was Carol Potter, who played Cindy Walsh and returned to play a therapist. Jamie Walters (Ray Pruit) also appeared in a small cameo, while Christine Elise, who played Emily Valentine, is now the big studio head in this fictional world.

BH90210 Season 1 Episode 6 Review: The Long Wait
Now that's how you do a finale.

Everything came full circle on BH90210 Season 1 Episode 6, and it was the right ending to a first season that was overall a treat from start to finish.

With the pilot done and sent off for review, the waiting game has begun. And while they waited, relationships were put to the test.

The best part of this parody/reunion/reboot has been seeing the actors we grew to love back together again.

It's been a very nostalgic experience, and while the nods to the original series have been amazing, this iteration was much better than any reboot they could have conjured up.

It's been fun and silly in a way that the original never was, and it's been lighthearted summer fare. And isn't that what we want in the summer?

BH90210 Recap: Up in Smoke
Ian Ziering
Despite getting off to a rocky start, the 90210 reboot finally caught fire (in more ways than one!) on Wednesday’s BH90210.

Sure, the show’s new head writer was able to fix the pilot script — thanks to a sneaky assist from Ian Ziering — but how is the cast supposed to shoot the episode now that the Peach Pit set has burned down? And which unknown arsonist sprayed “Stop Acting Like I’M Not Even Here” on the stage door before torching the place? A lot happened this week, but first, let’s tackle that red-hot mystery.

BH90210 Season 1 Episode 3 Review: The Photo Shoot
Production is back in session!

BH90210 Season 1 Episode 3 saw the gang back together on the set of the all-new Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot. But it didn’t take long for all hell to break loose.

With everyone but Shannen officially on board, it was time for the group to get some therapy. And their therapist knew them all very well.

It’s lovely to see this new version of Beverly Hills, 90210 incorporate past actors into the fold. And bringing them back outside of just reprising their roles in the reboot was genius.

Christine Elise is killing it as the domineering, yet helpful Fox executive. And Carol Potter was a welcome addition as the therapist who was to help the group with their many issues.

The first session went about as well as anyone would expect, with little to no cooperation from anyone and a lot of finger-pointing.

Plan A was to have Carol Potter (aka Mama Walsh), now a licensed therapist, help the cast work through its issues — everything from the show’s writer getting Jason Priestley’s wife pregnant to Jason having a one-night stand with Jennie Garth in Vegas.

BH90210 Season 1 Episode 2 Review: The Pitch
Well, folks, it looks like we’re getting a reboot after all.

It’s just not coming in the way many fans hoped it would.

BH90210 Season 1 Episode 2 sets the stage for a continuation of the 90210 story, as the cast weighs the pros and cons of stepping back into the world of Beverly Hills.

Much has been made about this adaptation of the series, with many split on how to feel about seeing the actors play themselves, but not really.

Many people were looking for a traditional reboot, and while we aren’t getting that traditionally, we may see a bit of our favorite characters on this reiteration after all.

BH90210 First Look: Carol Potter (aka Mama Walsh) Returns to Save the Reboot!
BH90210 is the biggest show of the summer -- both in terms of ratings and scale.

The decision to feature the cast members as heightened versions of themselves has proven to be a good idea for the most part.

On BH90210 Season 1 Episode 3, titled "The Photo Shoot" and airing August 21, Carol Potter will make her return to the franchise.

Carol Potter played Cindy Walsh in the 1990-2000 original series, but this time, she'll be playing "herself."

But what brings Potter into the fold?

Here's the official synopsis for the installment.

“Tori starts to feel the pressure of balancing the cast’s requirements for the reboot, while keeping the wheels in motion," it reads.

25 Iconic Moments From Beverly Hills, 90210: Part 2
Continuing the celebration of Beverly Hills, 90210‘s thirtieth anniversary this month, here are the final 13 iconic moments, covering the show’s later years, in which its most notable events involve the departures of major characters as the show transforms into a more traditional primetime soap opera.

Carol Potter in Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990)

Paris Hilton's Boyfriend Cy Waits Cleared of Hit-and-Run Allegation
Paris Hilton's boyfriend Cy Waits will not face any charges for accidentally running over a photographer's foot with his car, according to a U.S. report. Paramedics were called to treat Williams, while Waits reportedly returned to the scene later without Hilton and was cited for a hit-and-run by police. Williams subsequently insisted she was "at fault as much as him" and now cops have cleared Waits over the incident, according to TMZ.com.

The couple enjoyed dinner at the Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood with friends and family when the accident happened. Injured Photog in Paris Hit and Run: "It Was a Freak Accident"
Carol Potter in Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990)
Carol Williams, the victim of foot-runneth-overitis, may be facing charges for her involvement in last night's hit-and-run incident involving Paris Hilton and her of-the-moment beau, Cy Waits. However, Carol is insisting she isn't a "literally insane" photog like those Paris blamed on Twitter following the accident. It wasn't a case of getting the money shot of the couple, but merely a case of wrong place, wrong time, wrong tire. "I think from the excitement I thought, 'Let me get in there and get a shot,' and that is when it happened," she tells E! News. But Williams is not offering an excuse, just an explanation. "I'm taking responsibility for my actions in the whole...
